Peking Taste

First time eating here and was not disappointed. Called to order delivery, the person on the phone was helpful and really polite. They told me 35 minutes and it showed up right on time. The man that delivered the food was real nice as well. Will definitely order from here again.

not 1 but 2 of the vegetarian dishes I ordered had meat in them. portions are fairly big but I will not be returning.

I work here and have had almost every entrée on the menu. The food is fresh and delicious. My personal favorites are the Mongolian Beef and Fried Dumplings. Everyone I know who has tried the food loves it! I honestly don’t believe there is a better Chinese takeout place in town. The family who owns it is super sweet and dining in offers a nice quiet atmosphere.

Best Chinese in Lawrence! The generals chicken, beef lo mein, chicken fried rice and egg rolls are my favorite. It also stays good so i love to get 3 days worth of food before a snow storm!

Food is decent, but both times I’ve ordered it for delivery it has taken more than an hour and a half to arrive.

The old Peking Taste in town was a pretty good Chinese buffet. This place is NOT a buffet anymore.
They wouldn’t let our party order (at the counter), until the full party had arrived, which made no sense, as it was an order-​at-​the-​counter place, and the dining room was EMPTY. Anywho, the place probably does most of their business as takeout and delivery, so there wasn’t a soul in the restaurant except our group (so it’s good for large groups!)
The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t particularly good either. Kind of bland, cheap Chinese food. If that is what you are looking for, then yes, this is your place.
I got the Chicken with Vegetables, and it was meh. BF got Kung Pao Chicken, was not spicy, and was fine (as in, it was only fine, not great). Other members in the party were not particularly satisfied with their choices. We won’t be coming back here again.
If you want better Asian food, go next door to Dondon! That place rocks, and is by far one of my favorite restaurants in town!

I’d give this two and a half stars if I could. I’ve eaten here a few times and it really is fine. Nothing is flavorful, in my experience, though it is freshly prepared and portions are a good size. The eggrolls aren’t good– Thai House makes much better ones. Still, I continue to go because is is convenient to me. One thing that is irritating is that I always ask for dishes to be spicy, yet they never are at all.

This is the best Chinese food in town! Large portions, not very expensive, great flavor. The restaurant recommended that I try the orange beef — amazing!
