First time there and the Troubadour Retrievers were great. $ 5 cover each isn’t too bad either. But then $ 2 for a cup of coffee for the DD? I think they need need to rethink that. Might make me think twice about going back.

I am sure glad I discovered Jerry’s. For my first visit I got to sit right next to Jerry himself and he is an even better looking Pacu than the one at Fortuna Café. This place was fun and everything was excellent. The prices are very reasonable. I shared a large pizza with another big eater like myself and we were both full. The Caesar Salad was excellent. I really enjoy finding a place like this. The coupon from Unilocal was a great buy and made the meal a super bargain. I will gladly go back at full price though. By the way, they make their own pizza sauce from scratch and it is perfect. Sorry to see Jerry’s go. I discovered them too late.

Jerry’s Bait Shop is the quintessential suburban bar and grill. You’ve got a mix of high fivers, mall skaters, entrenched suburbanites and ex-Greek system college kids who all come together to coexist and reminisce about high school. The bar is wide open and bright to help encourage everyone to interact. Cover bands man the main stage, and play through a pretty good PA, but Jerry’s does provide a jam night and a night for local music. There’s usually a cover, but it’s a low one. The last time I was in I paid $ 3 that went straight to the bands. The food is good. I love the pizza and they also offer some salads and appetizers. You won’t walk out on a empty stomach.

Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. Both my husband and I had the brisket sandwich special. Decent price, tasty moist meat that was not overdone with great sauce. Good service, fun atmosphere and appeared to be a great booze selection. Would be great to come back for Jam night.

Great food. The live music is awesome. Check them out on Jam night. Its like whole band Karaōke. Great place to hang out with friends and listen to good music.

Pizza is not good — crust is not cooked all the way through. But, what do you expect from a bar?(and, one would have to question who is fixing and what is in the pizza given the condition of the bar…)

I think David Bowie may have penned his song, «I’m afraid of Americans,» while sitting in this very bar. Some of sights I witnessed: 1. children under 10 hanging out at 9:30 pm(with their parents?) Don’t get me wrong. I’m not one of the«children need to be shielded from anything that isn’t Disney princesses and Clifford’s Play House,» kind, but this isn’t the type of enriching experience they need for at least another decade. 2. at approximately 10pm, I saw a young woman at a practically flat line level of intoxication. That sort of ruined my night. It had me wondering if the dread locked white boy dragging her outside as if she were his Real Doll had slipped something in her drink. I doubt it, though. He was nice enough to keep shouting out«hey, sweetheart!» when he was trying to get the bartender’s attention, so obviously he loves women. 3. an elderly man dressed like a little newsboy, short shorts and all… mondo *trauma* …mondo 4. several forty-somethings straight out of «Spinal Tap, The Reality Series,» talking about their new band as they poured Bud Light from a plastic pitcher into plastic cups. 5. scary 20-somethings. They seem firmly enmeshed with the trends of the mid 1990s(dated, shitty tattoos, piercings, dreadlocks). Maybe they are just ahead of their hipster peers who are still all about 80s tackiness? Probably not. 6. cornhole tossing: the video game! You know, so that you can keep up the practice even in the winter 7. too many disturbing open stares and one unsolicited approach. Wah! I needed a bath when I got home. I don’t suffer fools very well and I’m sorry, but if I don’t feel comfortable sitting in a bar without a man at my side, then wow, I might as well be walking the streets of Luxor, Egypt again, just saying. I had to drink the pain away. Oh, you better fucking believe it. Truth is, I was here solely to see the Pretty Things Peepshow, which was great, as always, but this isn’t a review about the Pretty Things Peepshow. They don’t have my vodka of choice, Ketel One. Of course they don’t. There is a dubious selection of booze, because of course the Swill of All Beers is the true King here. Like I stated in my review for San Francisco’s Butter(a contrived dive bar, while Jerry’s is the real thing), I admit that this is not my scene. At all! Oh no no no no no. My scene is a cocktail lounge with dim lighting. Or an old hotel bar. There ya go. So, if you hate that sort of thing, Jerry’s is for you. I won’t lower their overall rating with my true star rating, because I don’t think it’s fair. It’s not like they’re pretending to be something they’re not. There’s no(Jerry’s) Bait and Switch going on or anything…

I really hate to give this a low rating because Jerry’s is a great place, but frankly, all the wonderful things about Jerry’s get overshadowed by how loud the music is. Jerry’s has a limited but nice menu of appetizers, etc. Staff was fine. I would be there probably every night if I could because I’m a HUGE music fan, particularly of live music. And if you want a local setting, with music every night, there’s no better place. However, it’s too loud! And for me, it’s a dealbreaker. PLEASE, Jerry’s, consider my plea, people don’t need or want loud music.

Out of the bars in Lee’s Summit, this is so far my least favorite. I just… don’t like it. The whole place feels rather unwelcoming. Note, that does not mean the staff or clientele are rude by any means, but I feel like Sharkeez and the other places are more comfortable. Add to that the fact that they don’t have Miller Lite on tap… ugh. Look, I tend to be a beer snob, but occasionally I feel like being cheap and drinking light beer(especially on hot, hot days). I know this is Missouri where Bud Light is king(vomit), but come on… I generally stick to the other Lee’s Summit bars.

Jerry’s main focus is as a live music venue, but as we were the first customers of the day on a weekday we had the place to ourselves. Our bartender actually seemed confused to have customers this early. :) We got in a round of Silver Strike while enjoying our beers. As someone who goes to bars to drink and socialize so avoids bars when a band is playing, between the two I prefer the Lenexa location as it’s smaller, and has more character. But that doesn’t mean in any way that the Lee’s Summit location isn’t a cool place to hang out too.

My sister recently asked me: «Why do you like Jerry’s so much?» I didn’t hesitate. Cheap drinks and live music. I love the jam band that plays Thursday night, great classic rock tunes. Add a $ 10 bucket of 5 Pacifico beers, and ½ price appetizers(the pizza bones are tasty) and I’m ready to relax. I met up with a friend the other day during Happy Hour and enjoyed $ 1.50 pints of Michelob Ultra. \ Live music just about every night. Get there early and you can skip cover. I would give 5 stars if they had more micros on tap.

I was in the old LS to visit family for the weekend. My brother brought me by and I had a generally bad attitude about it. Places with panties stapled to the ceiling are generally places I avoid. But I had so much fun at Jerry’s. I guess I’m used to St. Louis prices on booze, but dang! 2 dollar draws?! That rocked me. Also made me happy– Open until 1:30 on a Sunday, GREAT live music, yummy artichoke dip served with pita chips as well as tortilla chips. Decent micro brews on tap. It was an unpretentious place to get a good drink and hang around other chill people. There is a huge porch with lots of seating. Also, the bartender there was so nice and competent. I actually left having made some new friends and I was actually sad to leave Lee’s Summit! Now, that, my friends, is a first.

Hmm, what to say about Jerry’s…it’s decent I guess. It usually has a good band but often it’s way too loud. They need to turn it down from 13. The crowd is a mix of people. From old people, to yuppies, to bikers, college kids and the I’m barely 21 crowd. They have a couple hot waitresses so that’s always fun. It’s a good bar to go grab a drink at, I wouldn’t necessarily hang out there all the time.
