Delicious! The new menu is fantastic. Thank you for more healthy options! If you ever want a great cup or pot of coffee, this is the place to be. Not only do the servers ask about the roast, they tell you about each strength and type. Great hearty food and and excellent service!

Try the California Avocado Toast if you like Avocados. Don’t forget to put the lemon juice on it. Fantastic! The staff was very polite and social with me and I would definitely come back.

Had breakfast here this morning. Really liked the ambiance and casual-ness of it. A good amount of choices. We rated them only 3 stars for the poor service(she didn’t smile once, took 3 request to get more napkins, 2 requests to get our order correct, and acted like we were inconveniencing her) and the food came out barely room temperature. It’s very hard to eat cold eggs on an eggs Benedict and I couldn’t finish it all because of the temperature. Back came out already cold, but the flavor was great. If we go back, I’ll order the grits(which came out nice and hot) and the bacon and mix it together. Probably won’t order eggs, though.

The service was great and the food was good! They serve large portions so definitely go there hungry! I got the blueberries pancakes and my son got the strawberry banana waffles. Both were served with eggs and a side choice of beacon or sausage. We will return

I was extremely disappointed with my visit to The Egg and I! I am a huge fan of «brunch» foods and was really looking forward to them opening. The food itself was ok… It was extremely bland though… :/The food is also overpriced. I paid $ 13.00 for an egg scrambler that consisted of about one slice of ham, one piece of sausage, some egg, and an English muffin. Now, granted, the food was filling… I did not leave hungry; however, I feel it was also overpriced. Definitely not a good experience for me.

Pretty good. Usually get the biscuits and gravy or huevos rancheros. There’s been a couple times were they forgot to put the potatoes or the fresh fruit we ordered in the to-go box, but they always made it right by giving us a gift card or free meal. Not my favorite but still pretty good!

Tried it one morning with my wife and used our Major Saver. I got an omelette with the potatoes and it was good. I prefer hash browns, No big deal. My wife had a pancake that was bigger than the plate served with bacon.

Didn’t care for it. Have eaten other places like the big biscuit, I hop etc and did not like it. The menu didn’t even have biscuits and gravy.

DID I MISSSOMETHING? Okay. We just left this place. We were looking forward to trying something new this morning and this was what we decided on. The reviews are all great and we thought it looked like a winner. After driving around looking for it because the location on maps was incorrect,(I reported an issue — hopefully is gets fixed) we finally found it at about 10:30am. We expected a crowd because it’s Sunday morning. We were told 25 minute wait for our party of 2 — Annoying(because breakfast is fast) but really no big deal. We waited outside with many others because the waiting area was packed — but this wasn’t the problem — the problem was that the hostesses didn’t call the names to the outdoor people(even though they said they would.) We were lucky in that a patron leaving the restaurant opened the door just as they called our name. When we got to the desk they were preparing to call another party and give our table away. The story continues… Eventually we got to our table around 11. The hostess took our drink orders right away and brought our drinks quickly. We waited approx 10 minutes and our server stopped by and say — «I’ll be by to take your order in just a moment.» Another 10 minutes later… She made it back to our table. She took our orders and disappeared. Nearly 30 minutes later our food showed up. I had ordered the French toast breakfast with my eggs scrambled«well,» and my husband ordered the B&G breakfast. This is the humorous part… I’m a culinary student — I know my eggs. The restaurant is called«The EGG and I» …my eggs were made with LIQUIDEGG. THEEGGAND I USEDPRESCRAMBLEDEGGS. Are you kidding me??? How hard is it to crack my eggs freshly, cook them and bring them out? Waffle House does it! AND they serve them 3x faster AND for half the price!!! Hell — EVENMCDONALDSCRACKSEGGS! …Not only that, but they had a crust. A crust that told me they had been sitting under the lamp for a hot minute. I took a bite — they were runny underneath. UGH. I decided to skip the rest of the eggs. Bacon was good. Potatoes were good. French toast was good… But it was nothing to write home about. We scarfed down the edible items and tried numerous times to flag down our server who was making conversation at Every. Single. Table. Around. Us. We were hoping we would get to the car in time for kickoff. No such luck. Finally my husband stood up and waved to get her attention while she cooed over our neighbors baby. Success! She gave him our receipt. We dashed to the counter… She had items on our ticket that we had never ordered. Mental head slap. The hostess removed them. We tipped appropriately and ran to our car. Vikings had already scored. Honestly people. Somehow the stars all aligned and everyone else had amazing experiences here… But clearly the odds were not in our favor. I guess we will stick to our consistently cheap, fast and delicious breakfast experiences at Waffle House. They know how to handle a rush… unlike«The Egg and I»(and the Chiefs.)

After three visits this is still my favorite brunch spot in the area. Great service, super friendly staff also which is so important because many wouldn’t go back after one bad experience. I’m in love with their bold coffee, omelets and frittatas. Another huge plus is that they not only allow our yorkie on the patio but fuss over her the entire time. Really sweet :) One suggestion would be to add one or more ceiling fans next spring; even though it was only in the mid-70’s with no breeze it was very warm out there. The only sad point was yesterday when their beautiful flowers were dried out and dying and the floor of the patio was filthy. Get the hose out management!

I was thinking I was going to the Egg and I in Vegas but this is nothing like it. This place is way over priced and I wasn’t that impressed by the food. I got Santa Fe Huevos and my salsa tasted like Pace Picante. The Vegas location is known for their potatoes and this location had barely cooked, barely seasoned potatoes. My sister ordered the Breakfast Croissant and the eggs barely covered even half the croissant. Neither of us will go back bc there are too many better choices that are more reasonably priced and taste delicious.

Very good. Prices were fine. Food was outstanding. Service was pretty good for a busy Saturday morning. Expansive menu covering all the traditional dishes but also incorporating new twists to the classics. Friendly staff and a nice clean restaurant. a nice change from McDonalds or Ihop. You can tell the food is fresh. Will be back many times.

Not impressed. This was our second and most likely last visit. We first visited shortly after they opened and had a terribly long wait. We figured they were still just adjusting and said we’d be back another day. Our recent visit was on a Sunday. We were seated at 11:30 and placed our order at 11:40 since we had looked at the menu while waiting to be seated. We Did not receive our food(one order of French toast and one waffle both with scrambled eggs — simple) until 12:35. At that point we had a very hungry toddler who was losing patience especially since she was given a coloring page and no crayons. The food was okay. Nothing exceptional. Certainly not worth the wait nor the price. When we were asked about our meal we mentioned the almost hour long wait for our food and basically we just received a shrug. Pretty disappointed.

Solid, good breakfast fare. Nice wait staff. A very large menu with a lot of breakfast and lunch/brunch variety. This place is not as good as say, the Classic Cup on the Plaza. But it is wildly better than IHOP, Waffle House or even another local spot, Ginger Sues. It’s nice to know a spot for a good, classic Eggs Benedict and a decent cup of coffee.(neither of which Ginger Sues can manage.) My kids love the Belgian waffles and my husband & I enjoy the Huevos Rancheros a lot too. Rebecca is a wonderful server. You will enjoy The Egg & I!

My family made our first visit to the Egg & I the other day. We were so excited to have a breakfast joint in Lee’s Summit. Lee’s Summit is so short on good breakfast choices that Hardee’s ends up on the top 5 list quite often. My first impression is it was clean and nice. Walking in is a bit funny. The register is the first thing you see and most people walk straight to it to be seated howere the host hostess station is off to the right. I’d bet half of the people I watched did this. We requested a table after reading the reviews about the small benches. They are correct, two average adults would be a tight squeeze. A lady across from our table was sitting with a boy that looked to be about 4 and they even looked a little tight. The waitress was quick to take our order. The four of us all had different drinks. When our drinks arrived they all came with a carafe. I’m not really sure about this concept. Here is what was on our table: Hot sauce, ketchup, salt, pepper, a huge thing of jelly, a flower, a container of different sugars, a carafe of water, tea, diet coke, regular coke and a carafe of coffee, not to mention all of our drinks. If you error on the side of OCD this will drive you crazy. The menu is huge. It doesn’t help that its not laid our very well and things are repeated on the menu. Items are listed in one section then repeated in the favorites section. I know I am being a little nitpicky but it was strange to me. It took a while to figure out what we wanted but we were finally able to make up our mind. We all ordered, as stated in many of the reviews, it took a little longer than what I would call the norm(about 20 minutes) but I think it was on my mind because of reading some of the reviews. I ordered the biscuit and gravy breakfast. It came with scrambled eggs, ranch potatoes, biscuits and gravy, and bacon. The bacon and eggs were solid, bacon was crispy and the eggs were cooked very well. The potatoes and b&g is a different story. The potatoes were under done, some of the larger pieces inedible. When I tasted the b&g I finally gave up and sent my breakfast back. Bad enough that it was cold but it was sooooooo incredibly salty that I couldn’t choke it down. This coming from a guy who loves salt. On the plus side, the waitress and manager handled it nicely. They were apoligetic, and removed it from the bill. The manager went back and tasted the gravy and agreed they must have put too much salt in it. The one disturbing thing to me is he mentioned the gravy came in a bag and they season it in house. That made me wonder what else is bagged and shipped in and not made fresh in house. Wanted: Great breakfast place in Lee’s Summit(Ginger Sues you top the list but don’t get to be called great)

I absolutely love this place. I came here on a busy Sunday around noon, 1pm or so. We requested a table for 2, and were told that the wait would be about 25 – 30 minutes. Within about 5 minutes, our table was ready(suuuuuuuuper speedy service, if you ask me!). The restaurant was actually full when we got there, with many people waiting, as well. I couldn’t help but notice how all of the staff was full of smiles — which really helps to make the environment a warm and welcome one to walk into. We were seated by our hostess. Almost immediately after, our server, Andrea, came by to get our drink orders. She was absolutely spectacular with her timing; not interrupting at the wrong points of the meal or during conversations, and was extremely knowledgeable of the menu when we had questions. I ordered the Belgian Waffle eggpressed, with my eggs scrambled. My boyfriend ordered the Viva La French Toast with a side of wheat toast(see photos). The food was light/easy on the stomach(not too heavy, doesn’t give you that bloated/sick feeling), despite being large portions. Timing between taking our order and serving was great. The taste was exquisite, and service was phenomenal. To put things into perspective in terms of cost, I think it was just under $ 28.00($ 14/person with tax included) for our breakfast, which consisted of: for Viva La French toast + side order of wheat toast + iced tea(unlimited refills) + Belgian waffle eggpressed. Highlyyyyyyyyyyyyy recommend visiting. I will definitely, without a question, go back again. 5⁄5! :D

It’s a breakfast and lunch place. Also, it’s chain based in Colorado. We went for breakfast on a Saturday morning. It was crazy busy. Little seating in the waiting area but they have fresh, hot coffee to drink while you wait. The hostess and manager hovered about and showed genuine concern about the wait. We waited about 20 minutes before getting seated. Very acceptable. Food: I had the Viva la France french toast. It was really, really good. It came with two eggs and a choice of either sausage or bacon. Since my wife got bacon, I ordered the sausage. The sausage didn’t have much flavor. It wasn’t bad, it was just kind of bland. The bacon on the other hand was very good. The French Toast was perfect in my book. My wife had the Colorado Jack Scramble. I didn’t sample it but she said it was very good. My wife has returned since with friends and ordered something from the light menu and asked for it to be made with full eggs rather than egg whites. She said they cooked it just as she requested without question and that it was done to perfection. Service: Wow. Besides the hostess and manager making sure things were running smooth, our service was very good. Attentive without being a pest. Asked about our food after we’d had a couple of minutes to sample everything. Kept our glasses full and even asked if I wanted a to-go cup for the rest of my beverage. What really impressed me was when we got up to leave, at least three different employees thanked us for coming in. It seemed genuine and not at all contrived. They do hit a home run with the service. Atmosphere: Not much to say here. It’s a breakfast place. Nothing cheesy and nothing that stands out. Good food and good service really shine. One odd thing… the booth we were in seemed really cramped. We aren’t big people but the table was either too wide or the booth seats were too close to the table. I don’t know if it’s that way throughout the restaurant but it was really awkward. Conclusion: we’ll go back. My wife already has. Not sure where they found all the awesome, friendly wait staff but they hit it out of the park on the service.
