Excellent donuts and we like the Major Saver. However, why does the 291 store take so many Old Fashions from the south store? They are always out.

Awesome donuts. The coffee was great too. I highly recommend this place if you are anywhere near Lee’s Summit.

We were meeting with some folks and were responsible for breakfast so we decided to make a stop for donuts. I’m not a huge donut fan and my husband thinks that nothing compares to Round Rock Donuts back home, but it is what it is. We picked up 10 regular glazed, two chocolate glazed, one cherry iced with sprinkles and one chocolate iced with crushed M&M’s on top. The total was just over $ 15. Holy cow that’s expensive. I can’t tell you the last time I paid over $ 1 per donut. Anyway, the chocolate glazed were for me and they weren’t too bad(remember, I don’t care much for donuts). The kiddo liked the sprinkles and M&M’s. The line was out the door and they had quite a variety so while I’d give them 3 stars in general they get an extra star for obviously being a hit in the neighborhood.

Best donut on the planet! Old fashioned, chocolate long john, you can’t go wrong. Get there early for the best selection.

Now these are donuts. If you like sugary deep fried dough, them LaMar’s is the place to go. Great selection of the best donuts you will ever have. They have everything from old fashioned donuts, bear claws, cinnamon rolls, and donut holes.

Lo how the mighty have fallen. LaMar’s used to have world class donuts when I left KC5 years ago. I came back, finally found myself near a location before they closed at 1 pm and stopped in. I got a variety of donuts to try but the only one that wasn’t like cardboard was the apple spice. If Mr LaMar came in here he’d take away their franchise. I hope all LaMars aren’t like this one.

Praise to The Lord for a great donut place in LS. If not for Lamar’s, LS would be good-donut-less. My personal favorite is the old fashion donut(it may be called a sour cream donut… I can’t remember). It has a firm texture and a sugary melt-in-your-mouth taste. The other donuts are all pretty good. My other favorite is the donut holes. They rock! The plain glazed donuts are OK but the cake donuts are better.

This particular Lamar’s franchise location is not as good as the one in Blue Springs(State Route 7), and pales in comparison to the original downtown. Their selection and quality is consistently average, so you’ll know what to expect each time you visit. Or perhaps they’re simply trying to lull us into a false sense of security, and then one day they’ll unveil unveil a brand new chocolate long john filled with ground beef. Safe bets include the standard glazed, lemon-filled, blueberry cake, and crème-filled long johns. Do NOTUNDERANYCIRCUMSTANCES order the white fluff-filled long johns! Each one of those contains enough sugar to disintegrate every single diabetic who has ever lived. I don’t know what«white fluff» is; I couldn’t even find it on the periodic table. Perhaps it’s the antagonist from the 1985 Hollywood blockbuster, «The Stuff.»

Lamar’s definitely has THE best doughnuts in town. They’re not cloyingly sweet, greasy, or heavy. SOMEHOW. I need to learn the secret. My personal favorites are the ones with crushed M&Ms, cinnamon twists, and simple glazed. I’ve never met a Lamar’s doughnut I didn’t love! This is one of the places you have to try, and I’m shocked when locals haven’t had a Lamar’s experience. What are you waiting for?!
