We ordered food by phone and I picked it up. I was shocked at how small this restaurant is inside and it was hot inside too. Really didn’t care for any of the food and we won’t go back.

This is the best sushi I’ve ever had! The atmosphere is soo awkward, it is so quiet you can hear every word of every other customers’ conversations and the service is just mediocre, never asked how anything was, but did fill up my water! The sushi though, go for the sushi!

I only had the sushi at Mint, so this will be of no use if you are after insight into the rest of their menu. To begin, lees Summit in particular and KC in general has a high number of Sushi restaurants. I have been to alot but not all of them, as well as Sushi joints from Hawaii to Florida. I have a favorite in the area and usually am disappointed when I stray away from them. Not to say I have never found other raw fish purveyors that I don’t adore. I chose to try out Mint on the recommendation of several people. Upon arrival I can clearly see this is a small operation, not a problem. However employees laying around on the dining room tables is something else altogether. As are the abandoned hand tools left in the window sill. My wife and I are seated. We are helped promptly. We order Edemame, one Onion Soup, one Miso, 2 Spicy Crab Salads, one Tuna Roll and a Sashimi Deluxe which includes a California Roll. We are drinking an Iced Tea and Hot Green Tea. My wife is not happy with the Iced Tea, I concur that it is a little off. The Green Tea is fine. The Edemame is a tad oversalted but ok otherwise. The Spicy Crab Salad is really where this turns south. The presentation is top notch but, if you are going to offer a copy of another restaurants signature dish in this burb you had better bring your«A» game. The salad lacks the crunch of the Panko crumbs, even though I can see them? They are already mushy. The actual edible part of the dish, excluding the artwork, Is a dingy brownish color. Not the vibrant colors I am used to. The flavor has the slight hint of fishyness, it might have been the pickles? Why pickles? I have the suspicion that the salads are pre-made in a batch, not to order, this would account for most of these issues. The soups are a little watery, theres just more to enjoy that way right? The California roll is of the type found in grocery stores. I think they cut up the crab and mix it into a paste with something else, I could not identify the other ingredients. The Tuna Roll is ok. The Sashimi is served coiled up like a snake. They cut each piece several times like fringe to make this work. While a unique presentation, it makes manipulating each piece rather difficult as they are now ultra floppy and hard to grip. No sushi plates were provided. The serving temperature of all the sushi dishes came into question between my wife and I. All the sushi dishes we had were room temp. I did a little research and I guess it is not unheard of, but my wife was definitely put off by it. I to would prefer a little chill on my raw fish, Its just the rube in me I guess. After the meal they gave us some complimentary chinese sugar donuts. They were delivered my a man sporting the most unflattering billy goat gruff style of facial hair. I recognized him as the guy from earlier laying across one of the tables in the rear of the place, now he is up close and personal, yum yum. As you read about all this lack of attention to detail in the front of the house. Keep in mind that unlike most Sushi joints across the globe. Mint prepares ALL the food in the back, out of view. The bill, this meal cost us $ 49 about par I believe. The TLDR. totally unimpressed too many options in the area to go back.

Presentation was beautiful but a I ordered crazy monkey and my friend ordered playboy and they but everything in one plate even though it was separate order. The only thing I could taste in my sushi and my friends sushi is cream cheese. If you love rice and cream cheese then you will be satisfied. I expected a lot more for the price I paid.

By the hwy 291, plenty of parking, not very busy plaza. Quiet and clean. The price is acceptable for delicious Asian food. Great!

Maybe a three most places, but I was pleasantly surprised to find this in Kansas City. We had a variety of sushi and all was pretty good. Some good beverage choices and desert as well. The service was good, too.

For a older strip center sushi joint off a commercial frontage road. This place is DAMNGOOD! Surprised the heck outa me, but 5 outa 5 times I’ve been really happy and full. Lunch special are a good value, and sushi is great. Special comes with really good soup. Service is great, English is not the first language, but communication has been easy.

Clean, friendly & courteous, no wait for a table, food was delicious, price is reasonable. Husband had pam roll(avocado, salmon, cream cheese) and spicy something-or-other(spicy fish mixture, spicy mayo & sriracha). I had volcano roll(salmon roll topped with scallops/shrimp/crab/spicy mayo mixture). We each had a side of crab rangoons… they came fresh out of the fryer. The food was delivered in a very short time after we ordered. Most sushi rolls are 6 — 8 pcs and the presentations are works of art. With our food + iced tea + 1 Sapporo our bill was about $ 39. Pretty reasonable compared to other sushi places we’ve gone. Love this place!

Solid sushi, best in Lee’s Summit by far. I’ve dined in and gotten take out and have never had a bad experience here.

Super yummy trendy sushi shop with sushi cooked by actual Japanese chefs! I did get a bone in one piece out of two rolls, which is the only reason they didn’t get a full five stars. But neither of my sisters got a bone in either of their rolls. We celebrated a birthday and they play a song and put a hat on the birthday girl. A fun night!

We went to Mint on a very crowded night and almost all the tables are full, and there are only two waitresses. However the service was really pleasing, fast and welcoming. Highly recommended the jalapeño crab appertizers. The sushi is fresh, but only good enough for a quick bite if I’m craving for real sushi. Service: 4⁄5 Food: 2⁄5

LOVE this place! Delicious, fresh sushi, beautiful presentations, very friendly service. We went on a Friday night and it was nearly full but service was attentive and our food was served fast. One of the best restaurants in Lee’s Summit! Don’t be fooled by the hole in the wall, strip mall appearance.

The staff was fantastic. I liked how everyone helped everyone’s tables. I never felt forgotten or like I wanted something I couldn’t get. The sushi was very average. I was not impressed. I eat sushi frequently and tried this place for the first time today. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Wow… I’ve seriously slacked in updating my reviews — I was here like in January. But hey better late the never right? My co-workers and I came here after we had an off-site meeting and we were craving sushi. After several coordinated Unilocal searches we settled on Mint. I wasn’t sure what to expect when we first got here; it really was a whole-in-the-wall place that I probably wouldn’t have looked at twice if not for Unilocal. It was definitely low key and suited what we were looking for — sushi, good service, and time to just hang out and bond. It was empty when we arrived(probably due to the fact that we got there right as they opened) and were able to be quickly seated. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful — and really accommodating given we had 6 people with 6 different orders and separate checks. The food was pretty good — however, my only complaint is that I don’t need my sushi drowned in various sauces. Sure, it looks amazing but definitely takes away for enjoying the flavors of the fish. Unless, of course you are the type of person who enjoys those awesome sauce designs — then by all means enjoy away! Overall a good experience, and given proximity to work it’s possible that we’ll be back. Again, if you love fun sauce designs with your sushi this is the place to go!

No way. Lee’s Summit has a quality sushi joint? Yep, I wouldn’t have believed it but I’m here to tell you I’m definitely a fan of Mint Asian. What’s to like in this roadside shopping center venue of sashimi, soy, rice and all things good? Service for starters. Nicest waitress ever. It was possible she was fishing for a big tip. She got one! That woman can follow me around to restaurants and be my personal waitress. She’s that nice. Taste: my squid salad was downright spectacular. Interestingly put together, lots of bursts of unexpected flavor, a little kick and a good bit of protein. I wanted sashimi for dinner and the appetizer portion was just perfect. Check the photos of my dish and those from others. They put a high priority on making the plate look really attractive and you know what? It works for me. But it’s not just looks. Those swirls on the plate were interesting. I noted a straight sriracha, a sriracha blend(with Thousand Island, a common sushi joint trick), something with a bit of fish sauce, something green I couldn’t identify and some hoisin. The sushi was exactly to my liking and pair with a hot green tea that was refilled several times I left happy. If you go: credit cards accepted. Brace for the lime green and yellow interior that looks like it may have been designed by a kid with crayons. Cute overload. The green plastic chopsticks are amusing. Plenty of shopping center parking. Lock your car, tip your waitress, wipe your mouth after you eat, push your chair in as you leave. You’re welcome.
