We walked out. We made a reservation for noon when they first open for our group of 9(7 adults and 2 highchairs). When we arrived 10 minutes early, there was a line at the door. By the time they opened the doors there were 30 deep in line including our group. They seat us around 12:15 at a table for 8 so we are cramped but its doable I guess. They seat the group across from us and give them menus and take their drink orders. They(upon being asked) hand us 2 menus to share between our 7 adults. They serve the table across from us their drinks and two tables around us drinks and salad. They then inform us they will be removing the two highchairs from our group to fit another group of 4 in between the two groups at our two cook tops. Meaning the two toddlers would have to sit in their parents laps and we are squishing 4 into the space of 2 when we are already having to sit sideways in order to fit as tight as they have us. Really? The people across from us get drink refills. Tables around us get drink refills and soup and salad. We tried multiple times to flag someone down to take our drink orders with no luck. One of our group members got up to track someone down to take our order. She came back to sit down and we had time even after that before someone showed up to take drink orders to discuss going somewhere else. We were standing up to leave when someone showed up and there was no apology, no acknowledgment, nothing. Nope never going back.

OK, we heard about this place from a friend and tried it for lunch and since then have returned two times for dinner. Our go to Japanese place has been Gojo’s for many years and I can honestly say we like SIKI better. The food is good as is the service. The place is clean and the people are friendly. We enjoyed it and will make it our new go to place for Japanese, it is good and much closer than driving to KC. Prices are reasonable, more so for lunch than dinner. They have appetizers you can order from the menu and sushi is also available. If you like you can go to the sushi bar side and enjoy you favorite selection. Regardless of another review on this site, mine is very honest based on my three visits I hope you will enjoy this place as much as we do.

On a recent trip to see friends in Lee’s Summit, MO, we debated where to go for dinner. A popular chain was suggested, as well as KC barbecue takeout., both of which left me cold. I suggested, as a general category, a Japanese steak house. We found Siki online, and decided to try them, in part due to their convenient location. This turned out to be a great choice! They had all the usual dishes, fresh and deliciously prepared(my fav – chicken – was better than the local version!). There were no surprises, except in the show(a few jumps, plus the chance to catch shrimp in your mouth – hilarious!), and overall our group had a great dinner and show. Our local hosts plan to take guests again. As for price, that was a very pleasant surprise, and less than the equivalent in Oklahoma City. Whether you are a fan of the genre or have never been, I recommend Siki Japanese Steak House.
