Overall, the food was amazing. The service was great, too. You’ll walk in and get«ya’ll sit where you like.» I had the brisket dinner meal(for lunch) with greens and baked beans. The meat was cooked perfectly and very tender. The portion was very generous. The beans were great, but just missing a nice slab of bacon. The greens were seasoned perfectly. Some places over season greens, but Rivefront did it right. I am from the north, so any chance to eat brisket is welcomed. Good job, all!

By far my favorite bbq joint in the area. We’ve had them cater a graduation party and an 80th birthday party with no complaints. The one thing most folks complimented on, of all things, was the potato salad(if ya don’t like mayo don’t bother). The bbq itself is fabulous. I eat bbq once a week at least, from places all up and down I-75, and the meat here tops them all. Their choice of sauce is fair(Carolina, mustard, spicy, sweet). Don’t know about most folks, but I mix the sauces together til I find what works for me. Never had a bad experience here if that helps anyone.

We have ordered the Catfish several times and it has always been great. Lately we have ordered BBQ pork and Brunswick stew. The BBQ is great, cooked over wood in the back. The stew is the best in Albany, no Lima beans(one of my issues) and served with a scoop of BBQ pork on top. My go to BBQ in the ALB.

Ordered the ribs, chicken and pork and I can describe it in 3 words: dry and horrible! I’m not sure what happened but they changed the bbq sauce to a smelly and disgusting one. But the food was very bad to the point it ended up in the garbage. Money wasted. The ribs were over cooked and the chicken was undercooked; the pork was so dry I could have used it to start a fire. The service was another disappointment. I called my order in but when I got there it was screwed up, i was over charged and ended up waiting even longer. Trust me it was not worth the wait. I will not be returning

You will be greeted with a «sit where you like» walking in the door. The staff are very country like that– it is even in their voices. There is a salad bar to the left as you walk in the door and the place is spotted with booths that are semi-comfortable and spacious. Televisions line the wall like a sports bar and there is a small bar area in the rear. The waitress failed to bring a booster or high chair at all. My wife just got up and found one of each. The menu selection was odd. They had hamburgers and Philly cheesesteaks on the menu. They had BLT that I was very tempted to try. Eventually I ordered a brisket platter. My wife ordered a BBQ plate with pulled pork. My stepson had chicken fingers and fries. My son shared with us. Another waitress came back about five minutes later to advise me about the brisket. I honestly did not listen to her much and just told her to change my order to the half chicken platter. It was something about it being chopped or something. I did not care much as i was not very decisive when I ordered anyway. I wanted ribs and honestly didn’t see a good rib platter anywhere so brisket was not my choice. The chicken and the other food came out and it looked pretty decent. The bread was above par in comparison to other places. Not as good as Sonny’s but decent. The fries were pretty average and obviously not piping hot and fresh. The chicken was pretty tender and slightly pink in spots but not undercooked. It was easy to peel it off the bone. My main disappointment with the food was the lackluster condiments. They had vinegar, hot, sweet, and mustard barbeque sauces. None of them were outstanding in their own right. I mixed and matched to try to get something with the right flavor and consistency. The hot was decent. I did not try the sweet alone. The vinegar had a decent flavor but it was runny like water. I could not dip a fry in it. It ran everywhere. My wife’s bbq was pretty good. She loved her homemade fried okra. She made me try one and it wasn’t bad. My last complaint was the waitress got our ticket wrong due to the order change. She initially tried to say the cost was the same when the menu clearly showed about a 4 dollar difference. Overall it is a decent joint with a nicer location than the downtown restaurant. The food was pretty good, but not great. The pricing was mostly fair. Stop in if you want sone decent bbq.
