I love this place. Very affordable and VERY good! Be prepared to wait in line because it’s that good!

This place is fast and efficient and makes some solid breakfast tacos with great salsas. The drive through can easily be a long line into the street. Especially with their 2 for $ 1.50 deal in the mornings. The service isn’t anything amazing. And the inside of the restaurant didn’t feel the cleanest… but the food is great!

I had the crispy beef taco plate, and the food was excellent. The chips were hot and crispy, and salsa was very tasty and tangy, the way you like. The tacos, berms, and rice were all delicious, and the flour tortillas were hot and fluffy. I’ll be back!

I went here for the first time this past Sunday for some breakfast tacos. I went through the drive through around 9:15am and the line was already wrapped around the building. I noticed a girl was stopping by each car to take the orders so I am assuming their intercom system was broken at the time. No biggie though, I wasn’t waiting too long and they got my order down perfectly. Only thing that sucks is they didn’t have Big Red as a fountain drink, only Red Flash. I know it is pretty much the same thing, but when you are craving Big Red, you are craving BIGRED, and not the can either. Oh well, tacos were good, a little small but tasted fresh and homemade. Papas Rancheras taco was delicious! Paid under $ 10 bucks for 4 tacos and 2 large drinks.

Lisa’s is a local taqueria. I’ve been stopping in for some time now and can tell you they’re fairly consistent. The service is standard, they aren’t winning awards for it, but they’re efficient for sure. My coffee cup stays full generally even when they’re busy. I appreciate that. My food arrives in a timely fashion, the orders are accurate, it’s always hot and tasty. The place seems neat to me and is decorated smartly like a taqueria should be. The barbacoa is always tender and flavorful, the papas con chorizo are a hit! I’ve not had a bad meal here yet. Their tortillas de harina are perfect – soft, hot, nicely browned – wonderful flavor and texture. Everyone knows how important good tortillas are to the meal. Their salsa verde has just the right amount of pica. They do charge a small fee for things like cebolla y cilantro, it’s not so exorbitant where I’m irritated – it’s a business after all. There’s plenty of parking and it’s conveniently located near the corner of Bandera & Huebner next to the Valero. If you’re in the neighborhood, stop in. Whether ordering to go or dining in, Lisa’s represents!

Today is my first visit and so far I’m not impressed! Let’s start with the dirty booth seats(it had food crumbs all over it), the waitress, and salsa/chips. She was nice but disinterested at best. Never brought us our lemons even though we asked twice. We had to ask a busboy to get us lemons. As for the salsa, it had too much vinegar in it and the chips were very salty! For real who puts vinegar in salsa unless it’s from a jar!!! Onto the food. I ordered the Mexican plate that had a taco, chalupa, and 2 enchiladas. All I can say is that someone in the kitchen is heavy handed with the salt! Everything was salty! The food-overall-was mediocre. The only good thing about my meal was the tortillas.

We came on a Sunday, and while they were busy, we were still seated within 10 minutes. We got Carne guisada, enchilada plate, Chile relleno, breakfast tacos, and chips/queso. The queso was SOGROSS. Barely warm, chunks of under-cooked peppers and onion, it was somehow both stringy and watery and completely unappetizing. We were not asked why we didn’t eat it either! My husband felt the Chile relleno wasn’t cooked as long as it should be as there was considerable liquid inside it with the cheese, which seemed to be freezer condensation that hadn’t cooked out of it. Other than those, our food was good. The Carne guisada is rich, savory, and so seasoned that it’s almost enchilada sauce-y. I prefer mine a hair less seasoned and more beefy, but my kids like this the best. Breakfast tacos were stellar. Huge, well-filled, and well –cooked. Enchiladas solid. Beans solid. Rice could be a hair more soft. Flavors all good though and the chips and salsa good. Overall, we’ll probably return if we’re hungry for tacos and one of our family wants something heartier than Taco Cabana so we go with a suit down restaurant. We will not be getting the queso, ever ever again!

We had breakfast tacos in which eggs were dry, not like what was ordered. My breakfast companion said the beans in his taco tasted fresh. And, if the dried scrambled eggs weren’t bad enough, the hash browns were the worse. Used 3 napkins to soak up the grease and still they were greasy! The ranchero sauce served on side was very good as was the coffee. The wait staff was very attentive and in a pleasant mood. The restaurant itself was brightly decorated and seemed clean. But stay AWAY from those limpy grease-laden hash browns!!!

I’ve only been here two times, but I’m going to be bold and give this place a five star rating. I love the feel of the place, the service and the food is always pretty damn good. We have ordered a few different things to try but everything has always been exceptionally tasty, from the tortillas to the tea. All good and all fresh. Five stars, two high fives, thumbs up. Yes, all of that.

The carne asada mini tacos were good, but wayyyy too greasy! the poor tortillas were drowning in oil :( Maybe it was a one time thing, but I’m sorry, it was super heavy. Customer service was sweet, sweet ladies! Maybe Ill come back and try something else, or maybe the same, asking them to make the carne asada instead of frita :)

Wow! I can’t speak for the rest of their menu, but the breakfast tacos are awesome! No more breakfast tacos from Taco Cabana! My wife made me get up and go get breakfast tacos for everyone this morning(day after Christmas), so I headed to our closest Taco Cabana, as usual. Their flour tortilla machine was broken and they had NO flour tortillas!!! What the heck?! So, even though Lisa’s is a few mile down Bandera Road in the other direction, I thought. why not?! I am so glad I took the extra time and came to Lisa’s! I think the flour tortillas are much better than Taco Cabana’s and Lisa’s certainly packs in more filling in their breakfast tacos, and also has a MUCH larger selection! And the salsa’s they provide are much better also! The salsa servings are certainly smaller, but they don’t have to be large as they have a lot more flavor than Taco Cabana’s. And this place is crazy popular. I had to wait for a parking space to open up! A hot spot on Saturday morning! Anyway, I got four different kinds of breakfast tacos for everyone at the house and heard a lot of oooohhhs and ahhhhhs from everyone. Not a single complaint. So, the next time we want breakfast tacos, sorry Taco Cabana, you’ve lost some customers for good. It will be Lisa’s Tacos from now on. And now, my wife and I have to plan lunch here to see how the rest of the menu is. Wish they were open for dinner!

Lisa’s Taco Hut is by far the best place to visit while visiting family. The plates, tacos and just the overall menu is delicious. The waitstaff for me is great, very prompt and willing to assist. Today item for me is the barbacoa combo with Big Red, oh yeah!

Super yummy! The huevos rancheros were some of the best I’ve had. Their Carne guisada had great flavor, the papas con chorizo were excellent and the flour tortillas were tasty! Very friendly staff and quick service. We will definitely be going back!

Delicious food, great service. Check desert prices before ordering; $ 10 for a piece of cake is a bit much! Lunch for three plus dessert $ 55

My husband and I decided to try this place out. I don’t know if we came on a bad day but we will not be coming back. We ordered a bean & cheese nacho appetizer to start off with. I ordered a migas taco, a bean & cheese taco, and a potato & egg taco. My husband ordered a barbacoa taco, a bacon & egg taco, and a country guisada taco. THESERVICE The service was really bad. We saw our waitress when she got our initial drink order, and when she brought the drinks she took our food order. My husband and I ran out of our drinks and waited a really long time. Both my husband and I took every effort to locate her but we never saw her. No one asked us if we needed anything. It felt like we were forgotten about. I finally just stopped a random waitress and explained that we didn’t know who or where our server was but my husband and I needed drink refills. Without saying anything to us this waitress walked off and returned with one large glass of water which she slammed on our table and then refilled our coffee cups and walked off. She looked agitated and said nothing to us. My husband said, «this is our last time here,» then he poured the contents of the large cup into mine and his cup himself. None of the waitresses smiled, they all looked pissed off. We didn’t feel welcomed and felt uncomfortable about being there. Finally after a long time our waitress reappeared with our tacos but no appetizer. She said they still weren’t ready yet, so we cancelled the appetizer order. THEENVIRONMENT They sat us at a filthy booth. They did eventually come and remove the dirty dishes and wiped the table down and got our drink order. The busboy looked lost and stood in the aisle next to our booth with his huge cart full of dirty dishes for our whole dining experience. It would have been nice to see him move the cart and pick up a broom and dust pan and sweep up the mess under all the tables. There was dropped food, straw wrappers, straws, napkins all over the floor. When paying at the register I noticed toothpicks all over the floor. I did peek into the open area where the waitresses fill drink orders and saw they were all standing in a puddle of spilled tea on the floor. No one thought to have someone mop it up. The place in general was filthy. I wondered if they allow the dining area to be so dirty and messy for all to see, how does their kitchen look? THEFOOD&DRINKS The coffee wasn’t hot but semi warm and just not great tasting. The food was mediocre at best. My husband couldn’t even eat his country guisada taco because of the burnt onions that were in it. The tortillas used for my tacos were burnt, however the tortillas used for my husbands tacos were ok. The overall experience was terrible.

Fast, super friendly, reliably tasty and well flavored food here! In my opinion, a step above other Mexican establishments within the area. Large portions… very reasonable prices. Also, awesome atmosphere — bright and spacious interior, colorful décor, and a fun oldies playlist on repeat. Rating specifics(i.e. 1 – 5, low-high)… Overall recommendation = 4; Food taste and quality = 3.5; Portion size = 4; Price = 4.5; Restaurant atmosphere = 5; General service = 3.5; Waitstaff amiability = 4; Location and/or first impression = 3.5.

The hours have changed to 6am — 4pm Yesterday I had cheese enchiladas and taco plate. My daughter had the barbocoa torta, and my husband had the chicken fajitas. We all had no complaints about our food. Everything was good and so was customer service.

First I have to say that his place would be a solid 4 in my book but today’s service dropped it a star– I am huge on service. I woke up early this morning to pick up some tacos for work. You know they have the 2 for $ 1.50 special. Had been there this past Sunday and the food was very good. Could I have found my taco place in med center??? A quick call for a pick up order soon determined that… Called and I started rattling off my order at one point the she stops me and says can you slow down — my pen is not that fast with a hint of disdain. Hmmm, okay– it’s a taco order, not the nuclear disarmament code. So she repeats the order and I complete it and she says okay. Doesn’t tell me what time they will be ready at or asks if I need anything else. Asks for my name & I provide and she asks for it again– I spell it out for her… As the call end and she pushes the receiver away(before hanging up) she says, «oh my godddddd…» in a rolling your eyes, annoyed way. Was it directed @ me? Something in front of her? The pile of dishes? Don’t know– don’t care. If you are answering the phone you are representing the restaurant and everything that you say can be misconstrued by the caller. I sat in my car and thought– did she really just«omg» me? Called back and cancelled my order and let her know that I didn’t appreciate the side of rudeness she just serverd. So sad too because I pick up tacos frequently for my office, must keep looking…

Came here during the afternoon/lunch time, to kill some time. I was greeted as I walked in and was told to seat myself. Not long after I chose my seat, my waitress came over and was friendly. I hate it when you sit down and order something, then someone sits down after you, orders and their stuff comes out before yours does. I ordered Monterrey chicken… shouldnt have taken no where near as long as it did. When it was brought to me(not my waitress) the lady dropped it on the table and said here you go. No smile… didnt wait or ask if I wanted something else… rude. The plate itself… the food was good, it had flavor but the chicken breast was small and thin. There were more beans, rice and lettuce than chicken. Not impressed… most like wont go back.
