There’s not much that needs to be said that hasn’t been said already. Mountainous sandwiches, top quality Boar’s Head meats and cheeses, dynamite bread. I ordered a whole SS, made it half way through a half, I’ll end up getting 4 meals out of this sucker. If you’ve got that deli craving, this is your spot.

Grew up going here all the time. Need a massive sub? Slater’s. Need a delicious sub? Slater’s. Best pork roll egg and cheese? Slater’s. Coming home doesn’t feel like I’m home unless I stop by here

Went here to try the award winning Pork Roll, Egg and Cheese. Was surprised that it was like $ 7/8+ for a breakfast sandwich… until I saw the size of it! HUGE! Totally worth the money. If you’re going here for the PREC, you won’t be let down.

Best sandwich shoppe in the area. Everything from the breakfast sandwiches to the super sub is jam packed and delicious. Would highly recommend to anyone local or on their way to the beach.

Best subs in the state. Portions are huge! Bread is different now but it’s still good. Really enjoy the service and food. Can’t rate this high enough

Great deli. Good employees and everyone is very friendly. Tons of meat and love in subs. Only comments is the sub bread could be better. Its fair. The chicken salad is not good. Its like a spread and not chunky.

Bring your appetite when ordering from Slaters. We have learned to request«a small amount» of meat when ordering — even with that you still receive an outstanding sandwich. Good for breakfast and lunch, catering also good. Call your order in tends to get crowded especially during summer months. Try the Supply sandwich — triple decker ham cheese roast beef on rye with cole slaw and Russian — easily enough for two people.

On our way to see a lighthouse we found this awesome deli. My husband and I split a large Italian sub, they put a pound of meat on it. It’s what a deli sub should taste like, piled high with good and fresh ingredients. Very friendly staff, excellent service!

Went here with my wife, 8 yr old and 3 year old. Sandwiches were made fast and fresh. Extra pickles for my 3 year old and the nice older man gave my 8 year old the tv remote and told her to put anything on that she wanted. Food was great. Can’t beat the family friendly feel. Well done!

I have been coming here for a couple of year now and the sandwiches are still great. Best subs for the beach! Pricy compared to the chains but well worth it.

I did a u-turn to stop here when I saw the sign claiming«best porkroll sandwiches on the Shore», and I was not disappointed. I ordered a pork roll egg and cheese on an onion roll with onions, salt, pepper, and ketchup, and it was served with the kind of gruff yet friendly attitude that anyone from jersey knows and loves. The sandwich itself was absolutely glorious, oozing with a huge serving of grilled taylor ham and perfectly fried eggs. I was going to save half of it for later but I couldn’t put it down. They do charge 4% extra to pay with a card just so you know, but it’s still a great price for one of the best sandwiches ive had in years.

In an overcrowded market of pizza shops and delis stand the top shelf sub shop I have ever visited Slaters! Slaters is an institution and has been for so many years a can’t remember. When I was a boy living in Hazlet we would ride our bikes to Slaters for a half sub that fed 4 guys. Then we rode to Highlands and rented a boat to crab and fish. The sandwich kept the group going all day. Things have never changed and Slaters remains the best sub shop anywhere. The quality meat, cheese and fresh vegetables wrapped in excellent bread cannot be beat. And it’s overstuffed just like I remember as a kid. Just go get a sub and see what I’m talking about.

Slaters and their legendary sliders is a staple of the Bayshore community. You’ll pay more for a sandwich, but you will also get more. Friendly atmosphere and the owners will recognize you if you are in there on a semi regular basis.

Call with 20 minutes before closing and guy won’t take my order. It takes minutes to prepare and I’ll be there in less then that bud. Very rude on the phone too.

slater’s is pretty good. it’s a little expensive, but the sandwich you get will last you for days. they put a lot of meat on the sandwich, and my mom sometimes takes most of it off so the sandwich is actually edible, and saves the meat to make sandwiches for another time. very good place.

This place has been around for a very long time. Everything is one to two dollars more then other sub shops but you are paying for quality stuff. Everything from their breakfast sandwiches to subs is overstuffed with meat. These things are massive and well worth the cost. Expect to pay about 9 bucks for a whole sub and 5 bucks for a breakfast sandwich. Not the prettiest of shops but it serves its purpose. If your going fishing on a party boat in the highlands these subs are perfect to bring along.
