I couldn’t decide whether or not to give this two stars or three. I opted for three. Our service was good. Our server came around and checked on us often. We came here for the special Father’s Day buffet. The food was just blah and average. There wasn’t much selection. There were two sides of the buffet, and much of what was on one side was on the other side as well. On another note, I ordered an unsweetened ice tea. What arrived was quite bizarre-tasting. They kindly took it off my bill. I don’t know if it was some sort of weird instant, or if it was just a blend I’m not used to.

Buffet was about as good as they come, the blackberry cobbler took it to another level. The service provided to us by Jessica, however, made this road trip lunch stop an excellent experience all the way around. From two guys that travel extensively and have had more bad experiences than good on the road, we salute you! Thank you!

Had to wait 5 mins for the staff to finish a conversation before they offered to seat us. The waitress was very sweet but the food was terrible. Should have looked at the reviews before we went in. :(

I had the brunch bar, the strawberry pancakes were good until I found a fake fingernail in it. The manager was very concerned and compted the bill, but one of the waitresses was laughing about it, until I called her on it.

We stopped here for breakfast ahead of a 7 hour drive back home. First thing I noticed when walking in is the huge display of of souvenirs, along with a huge selection of handbags… yes, HANDBAGS for sale on the wall behind the cashier. We were not impressed with the small and unappetizing buffet display. The eggs were cooked well, but the sautéed mushrooms I put on them had such a strange taste, I couldn’t eat it. The toppings in their salad section were impressive with a big container of bleu cheese, cranberries, almonds, sunflower seeds, and 3 kinds of lettuce. My daughter did love the cinnamon sticks. Our server was polite and accurate when asking to refill our drinks. We never had to remind him what each of our drinks were. There were 7 of us! The bathroom was the nail in the coffin of our experience. The floors were filmy and wet. The trash can was overflowing with garbage which was spilling onto the floor, the toilets(only 2 in the bathroom) were extremely filthy, and the stench was enough to have made me lose my breakfast if I had to stay in there any longer. Couple this with the fact that there was no air flow in the bathroom at all(fans, window, vents, etc.). The disgusting air was stagnant, warm and humid! Enough said. If I ever come through again, I’d avoid this place altogether.

We visited Lewisburg in the fall, eating in a couple of good restaurants in the city, but in the evening, we decided to walk from our hotel to this Shoneys to get a late supper. Clue #1 – the smell of grease was powerful. Clue #2 – we almost fell, sliding on the grease on the floor. Clue #3 – the seats in the booth were cracked and sagging badly. We should have left, but we were hungry. Very few other customers; very long waits to get any attention. We decided to skip supper and just order a dessert. The Apple crumb cake with vanilla ice cream was pretty good, but the atmosphere in the restaurant(odor specifically included) was awful. We were glad we had gotten into Lewisburg and experienced some of the very good restaurants there. But our sense, from this one data point, is that Shoneys has slipped badly. We’ll not likely make another visit to Shoneys anywhere, and that is sad. We have fond memories of visits to Shoneys when they were good.

Here for breakfast with the family when visiting them in Lewisburg. Had never been to a Shoney’s before, but my husband had, and really had nothing good to say about it. I talked the crew into it anyways. And glad I did. If a good traditional buffet breakfast is what you want, it is what you will get. Hot and steamy eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, french toast. ripe fruits and an extended buffet with fried chicken and such for those who prefer it. Desserts were only maybe ehhhh but overall I went hungry and came out satisfied. Family atmosphere and very attentive staff.

Should have read the reviews first. 7 servers working and all eating and gabbing. Cold breakfast bar and horrible service. AVOID at all costs.

Dirty, filthy, backwoods waiters and manager. Buy a can of spam and a loaf of bread. It would be better than this place… Ps– do not go in the rest room. It is very dirty, but maybe a little cleaner than the restaurant.

I had not been in a Shoneys in 30 years because of their reputation of being dirty, so… If you like fried batter, you will love their fish and chips. The buffet is on special: two for $ 20. But I ordered one for $ 9.28. No kidding. I have a suggestion for Shoneys: Allow customers to just look at the buffet for $ 5. They make a profit, you save money, and… your appetite will disappear for 37 hours. Other than that it was terrific. Once every 30 years is more than enough.

You weren’t in Lewisburg WV, you were about 50 yards off Interstate 64 in a dump you could find the same distance from any I-whatever in the USA. You MISSED Lewisburg WV24901(which is 2 miles south of the chain restaurant you chose) «One of the Top 100 Small Arts Towns» in America according to Southern Living, it boasts an array of fine restaurants. The town’s Food & Friends, General Lewis Inn, Irish Pub, 1870 House and two Bakeries easily measure up to the best you could find anywhere. Sometimes you gotta go the extra mile, ask a few locals or check out the reviews before you hit the road. THEYJUSTREMODELEDAND I NOTICETHEPARKINGLOTISFULL. 3÷25÷11

Something should’ve clicked in the back of my mind when I saw that most of the customers inside Shoney’s had BMIs greater than 30. Then again, we were in Lewisburg, WV so there weren’t too many dining options to choose from. It wasn’t until I saw the food in front of me that I came to realize why. My pancake platter looked nothing like the pictures on the Shoney’s website.(Yes, I have the tendency to look up restaurant websites beforehand.) They were limp, soggy, and oozing with butter… an excellent way to start my morning. I didn’t even bother coming close to the sausage. Neither of my parents’ dishes looked delectable nor edible. Everything(from the biscuits to the potatoes) sat atop a bed of oil. In fact, we left most of our food untouched and headed over to the nearest Starbuck’s for lattes and breakfast pastries instead. Final verdict: very shabby. If Unilocal allowed negative stars, this place would get it. Avoid Shoney’s. Any Shoney’s.
