Food is great! Waitresses are rude! Always looking at my table like we’re stupid, made us wait 30 minutes to get change back and deliberately kept staring at our table while doing nothing. Also not caring and just slaps the silverware and plates down.

I’ve been 3 times. First two were good. 3rd time was terrible. Waitress just didn’t care at all and looked at us like we were stupid when we asked for condiments that we had asked for when we ordered. Also their pimento cheese is NOT pimento cheese. It’s literally just cheddar cheese with peppers mixed in. They have good wings and burgers but for some reason their black bean burger is half the size of a regular burger and costs only $ 1 less. Seems somethin wrong there

Let’s see where shall I start? Walking into this place I was pretty impressed with the atmosphere. It gave a really friendly vibe and was decorated nicely. I wish I could say the same for our waitress. There wasn’t a lot of people in there but she gave off the impression that we were more of a headache before we even placed an order. For an appetizer we got the spring rolls and I will say they came out quickly, but our waitress did not provide any plates, nor did she offer to refill anyone’s drink. It wasn’t but 4 – 5 minutes later and our entrees came out. I had decided to get your basic wings in 2 different flavors along with some of their home made chips. The wings had absolutely no sauce on them and the chips did not come out until 15 minutes after the wings did. Our waitress only offered to refill anyone’s drink until after we were basically done. I had to wave my hand at her as she walked by to grab her attention at one point. She was more concerned with what her Halloween costume looked like more than taking care of her customers. The first and last time I go there for a meal.

Service is usually good at the bar. It’s takes too long to place drink orders when you’re sitting at a table. Burgers are made to order. They use tablets so you don’t have to worry about getting your order wrong. Twice when I came in to watch sports the owner had a bunch of friends there who took up all the best seating. The Irish Pub has a better atmosphere by far. When a group of friends invites me to the Asylum I usually say«I’ll meet you later at the pub.»

Great fired chicken and may I suggest the Mac n cheese as a side. Knowledgable bartender with a great inventory of cans and bottles. Was able to make good suggestions on both the food and beers. As a person who seeks places with a great beer selection first and food second I would highly recommend this joint. The dinner was a good enough reason to return though.

AWFUL! The worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. The only thing worse than the food was the service. What a poor business. It’s sad because it is set up very nice with the 3 floor design. Hopefully after it goes under someone will re-open it and make something decent out of it. Do yourself a favor if you are in Lewisburg and go ANYWHERE else. I have never been so disappointed with a restaurant that I actually went as far as writing a review about it…

I really wanted to try the burger, but after more than 30 minutes waiting for any of the 3 waitstaff that passed my table a dozen times to at least acknowledge my existence, I left.

Stopped in while traveling I64. Thank you Unilocalers. We had the go to burger and fried chicken. Both were great, the burger was really good and huge. The chicken was moist and tasty. The waitress, Skipper, was probably the best one that I had in years. She helped me select the right beer and suggested a good dessert pairing. I will have to go back for their homemade dessert on my next trip through I64.

Weird. It was good at first. Impressed with the alcohol selection and food was awesome! Bathrooms were clean. It seemed once we ordered we were forgotten… The bartender/owner? Sat down in a barstool and started eating. Letting her server minions fail all around her. Barking orders all while sitting down stuffing her mouth. No attention to customers. We bussed our own table until finally, 15⁄20 min later, a server came behind us and got our dirty dishes. We’re still waiting for the check by the way… Fucking weird experience. All in all, if you want good food come here, service is fucking terrible. Go figure.

I think the food was alright, but I honestly can’t remember because the service was so awful. If I ever go back, I hope I may have the opportunity to think more kindly of this one. I had sweet potato fries and a burger. Das all folks.

We have tried this restaurant twice. The first time the service was very slow — it took about 3 hours to get our food. It seemed as though they were severely under staffed, and we knew the patio had just recently opened so we figured it was just a really bad night. Last weekend on the 4th of July, my family decided to try it out again. We sat down, ordered, and it was about 2 hours later when we hailed down our waiter and asked on the status of our food. It was only a few minutes later that we found out one of the fryers had broken. Two or three people had ordered the fried chicken and would need to re-order something else on the menu, which added about 30 more minutes until our appetizer would come out. The bartender had to come out and let us know, which really is not his job as the bar was full. This is completely unacceptable for any restaurant, but especially a restaurant that’s well staffed, not completely slammed, and that has a menu that is pretty straight forward(bar food, fried chicken, wings, bbq, etc.) The service was terrible, but the worst part about this experience is how the restaurant was being managed(or lack there of). It was 4th of July, during the Greenbrier Classic, and there was not a single manager or person in charge that night. It seemed like it was our waiter’s first night, and I’m not sure if he had ever been trained. On top of everything, we did not hear a single apology. Cool vibe but not worth the bad service/management and mediocre food. Would definitely recommended skipping the Asylum and head to one of the many other great restaurants in Lewisburg!

I would put place this in the gastropub category. The atmosphere was great with a really nice outside patio. Live entertainment that night. The service was good and the staff was genuinely friendly. I had the Philly Steak and Cheese and it was excellent. Tender meat, fasted great, and a generous sized sandwich. I didn’t walk away hungry. Homemade chips were great too.

A neat concept, an old commercial building has been renovated into a bar and restaurant(in that order, I would consider them, honestly) by supposedly, as one local said with both color and candor, «a doctor with more money than he knows what to do with». Which if true, this seems like a good investment for the good doctor’s cash and it will probably thrive. They’re riding high on the Bourbon and craft cocktails trend and they have food like burgers and fried chicken that will be crowd-pleasers. They also have an impressive beer selection. The interior is inviting, has a nearly ski lodge feel to it and is somewhat upscale yet not intimidatingly so. So the premise is a good one, but the service leaves a bit to be desired. The bartenders are not in my experience very nice or helpful and if you order food at the bar they seem nearly annoyed by the fact. The waitstaff seems somewhat confused, also. This could be because the establishment hasn’t been open yet even a year or because given Lewisburg’s size and the fact it has plenty of good and pretty posh restaurants(plus the Greenbrier nearby), the cadre of really-polished waiters may already have been employed elsewhere. So the staff may lack experience and may indeed be learning, but they could be a bit more friendly. When I was there back in November shortly after the Asylum opened, one bartender dropped a glass and it broke on the bar near me and he didn’t say«oops» or «my bad» or anything which I found really unprofessional. The bartenders at the Irish Pub or the Sweet Shop I’ve found to be far nicer and friendlier.

I had the fried chicken which was very tasty. The service was horrible and the food came out very slow. We were a party of six and felt neglected by the staff and management. Again, the Fried Chicken was good if it had only been served prompt and by a friendly server

Neat bar and grill in this small town, good food and a great beer selection! Had 3 different craft beers and a burger my tan was in the $ 20’s so not bad at all!

Came in the afternoon, nice bartender, he was slightly helpful, very young, but he did ‘ok’, tried the house burger and a salad, ok, great wine list, some thought went here and thank you. Heard nice things, and was willing to try it. Looking for more.

Great new place tucked away in Lewisburg! The Asylum Burger is fantastic, as well as their fried chicken. Service is prompt, music isn’t overpowering.

first visit last night and it gave a great first impression. I was impressed with the layout of the place and even though it was packed, the noise level was not overbearing. The service was very good and attentive(our waitress was Jaylee), food came out quickly. My burger and fries were cooked perfectly and tasted great. I also enjoyed the local beers on tap, the Mothman IPA and the Wild Trail Pale Al from the Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company and the bartender made a great blonde ale recommendation for my wife. Overall, very impressed and will visit again.
