I love this little hidden gem so much!!! The Gyros is huge, fries are great. The owners know it’s me on the phone when ordering. Just love it. You have to go if you like a true Gyros

This place is kind of hidden in a little strip mall off Waller just past the hospital. I stopped in here one day to grab a bite to eat and have been hooked ever since. The staff are so nice and kind. They are just the right amount of chatty. I also think it is cute the way they explain their Mediterranean/Middle Eastern foods to people who haven’t tasted it before. It puts a smile on my face every time.(I think next time, I will write it down so I don’t forget it.) They are also really good to make suggestions on food pairings as well. You don’t often see that from Middle Eastern places. I love their hummus. I could eat a tub of it and I usually get an order of this to eat while I wait for my food to be cooked. I normally get a falafel gyroz when I go. If I don’t order one of these, I do get one to go home with me… Gotta have my fix. So good. The seating area is always so clean and tidy. I do have to say I love this place. Talking about it now makes me want to go there right now but I know they are closed, but oh man… If you are ever in this area, stop in and grab a bit. they are very affordable and very good.

This place is great. Some of the best falafel I’ve ever had and everything was full of flavor even the bland looking chicken was super yummy. Like others have said sometimes you have to wait a bit but it’s worth it.

Umm… Delicious! The place is clean, warm, and so good. The owner always make sure to engage with the customers. Been in here twice and the first time, I was lured in by the«Best Gyro in Town». They caught me, and about 20 minutes later, they caught me in a lamb and beef induced coma with garlic sauce coming out of my mouth. Been here twice, and my wife and I love it. The falafals are rich and served so fresh. The hummus is creamy and has a nice balance to it.

So glad I found this place on Unilocal.I enjoyed the best gyro I have ever eaten! I agree with the other reviews– the fries are not to be missed. The place lacks a bit in ambience, but I’ll take great food over ambience any day. The gyro was full of meat, with generous amounts of lettuce, tomato and yummy sauce. In other words, super-messy and super-delicious!

Very impressed. We had the Gyro, Falafel, Grape Leaves, and Lentil Soup. Everything was sublime and very authentic. Definitely recommend this place despite its appearance — seriously. It’s delicious!

As others have said, the gyro meat is shaved much thinner than most other Mediterranean restaurants I have been to. I had the gyro salad and I was a bit disappointed. The meat was thin and the sauce that came with it was some kind of garlicky, thick white cream sauce. Nothing like the tzatziki I was expecting. I had called in my order to go and when I arrived, the place was empty and my food wasn’t ready yet. They only started to make my order once I arrived.

Once again amazing food!!! I have moved to Nashville and No one comes close to this excellent food! The falafels are the best I have ever had and never disappoint! The chicken tender and moist, rice tastes well seasoned and fresh! Heavenly food! This place will always be at top of my list to go to when visiting Lexington! Thank you!

All you need to know is that you should be ordering some variation of everything here. Never, and I mean never, order a gyro with extra tzatziki. That is unless you love to have a food orgasm in yo mouth. #justsayin… If Gyroz were like a fantasy football team(fantasy foodball?), my roster would be stacked with with the likes of Vegetables, Sirloin Beef, and Pork. I’m not sure where I am going with this metaphor because I don’t play fantasy football. Regardless, get these things and be happy. Service is usually very friendly, though sometimes they can be a bit slow, especially with larger groups. Not a big deal, because this is more of a place to sit down and relax for a bit. The prices are very fair for the area as well. Giggity.

Went here last night with my boyfriend. We both ordered the regular gyros and seasoned fries and they were delicious! The meat portion in the gyro was large and I loved the sauce they put on it. Also, I believe it is run by a family and they were all so nice, especially the young lady running the register. I will definitely be eating here more often.

The falafel here are one of the best I’ve had. The only downside is the food takes awhile to come out, but it’s is 100% worth the wait. They make everything fresh and everyone who works there are incredibly friendly. I’ve had the lentil soup, lamb and beef shawarma, falafel, fries and hummus before. The fries are so so good and the garlic sauce they give is great since it’s not too strong and won’t leave a strong taste in your mouth like many other places. The prices and portions are great too!

I decided to visit this place with my girlfriend after reading the positive reviews on Unilocal, but our experience was nowhere near as positive as the other reviewers’. Ate baklava for an appetizer. Paid 5 bucks for what turned out to be some old and stale pastries. Couldn’t finish. Service was friendly enough, but the food took a long time to reach us. My lamb gyro was pretty good. Only complaint was it was overstuffed which made it very messy to eat. My girlfriends chicken gyro was dripping with grease and quickly gave her the runs. Fries were heavy and would be great with the yogurt dipping sauce. Sadly, we were not provided with any sauce for the fries so they came off as dry and over-seasoned without any condiments. I don’t think I will come back myself, but there is some value to be found in the generous portions. Just stay away from the overpriced baklava.

Take my hand, the one without tzatziki on the fingers, and together we’ll explore that gastronomic pleasure, the gyro. We start at the outside and encounter the plain but sturdy pita. It’s warm from being lightly toasted on the flattop, and more than capable of supporting the servings of meat and vegetables on a Gyroz gyro. Moving upwards we encounter the main event: the schwarma. A mixture of meats cooking on a vertical spit until it lands on the pita, it’s always juicy with earthy seasonings. Continuing our vertical ascent, we find a few slices of sweet tomato, thinly sliced red onion with just enough bite, and a bed of cool lettuce. The cool, crispy vegetables contrast with the meat, singing harmony to the meat’s melody. As we proceed, we wave to the tzatziki, a yogurt-based sauce that softens the saltiness and adds a pleasant tang; I order my gyro with extra tzatziki. Striding for the finish line, we take more bites of our gyros and discover that many more bites will be needed to complete our journey. Gyroz gyros are large, with generous portions of schwarma at a fair price. I include a note in my travel journal that I also enjoyed the seasoned fries, crisp outside, tender inside, and hot throughout. We had date cookies for dessert. Individually wrapped, they’re date-paste coated with a butter-crumb coating. They’re only mildly sweet and a nice finish to a meal like this. This was a return visit and it reinforced my opinion of Gyroz. Great food, welcoming, clean, and inexpensive.

I can’t say enough good things about Gyroz! We regularly order their kabobs and gyros, both of which are amazing. On one visit, I tried their daily special, which was a roasted chicken plate – it was absolutely delicious! The portions are very generous and the prices cannot be beat for the quality of food. Why not 5 stars? I think their menu is a little jumbled and could be more clear.

I’m going to have to update my review of this location to a five, and that’s all there is to it. Every time I visit here, their gyros are always consistently delicious and fresh. On this visit I tried to throw them off their stride and ordered a chicken gyro. The shredded chicken meat was juicy, fresh, and had a delicious and slightly spicy mix of spices throughout, perfectly cooked down by their tzatziki sauce. I also ordered the fries when in the past I had only ordered soups as a side. Crispy, fresh, thick-cut, and coated with just the right amount of seasoned salt. The food is only half the reason to go, however. The cashier that works here is always extremely friendly and pleasant. She remembers a lot of her customers, asking if they want their«usual» and can repeat that order back to them. She even remembers my wife and I, and we’ve only been there four times in the past two years. She just oozes friendliness, makes you smile, and definitely makes you want to come back. Their business definitely shows that other people have noticed too. They were busy today! But the food and service are just as good as ever. Thanks for keeping this place alive, Lexington.

The lamb was shaved deli thin which made it a little crispy. Also, there was a spice in it that was too strong. Never had gyro meat that tasted anything like this. I got the plate and it came with the meat and rice. That’s it. My spot at home gives you meat rice a choice of salad and a sliced pita. All for the same price. This place is just lacking

Just discovered that my wife is expecting our latest and greatest creation. I realized it’s been about 12 years since I experienced the mood swings and random cravings. Yesterday was a unique one because she wanted a gyro. So I did what any true social media freak would do open the Unilocal app. My wife doesn’t «yelp» but she knows that I swear by it. She pulled up a list of «Greek» restaurant in Lexington and selected a Greek spot with a cool name. As I reviewed the list some about this place pulled me in. We walked in and noticed it didn’t have 1000 choices. Just the basics. However when it comes to regional food this is exactly what you want. I hate a Chinese restaurant that serves food from the entire globe. If you want Greek food you should go to a Greek restaurant. Simple math The reviews I read puts way to much emphasis on environment and décor. That’s why the star rating can be subjective. Small minor detail have speak to you. What spoke me is when this gentlemen walked in and the owner knew exactly what he orders every time. What tells me is that this place has locals and no bad restaurant has locals. Also it sits directly across from UK so imagine the amount of people that visits this place. As for the food. I had the best gyro I’ve ever had. To solidify my rating for this place I have to use the ultimate rating scale. The Prego wife scale. Her craving never satisfy her taste buds but she agreed with this being the best gryo ever.

Necessary Disclaimer: I don’t write many reviews on eastern mediterranean/middle eastern cuisine because I happen to be from that part of the world and although several dishes have the same name in different countries in the region(e.g. hummus, kebab, koftah, baklava) each country has its own unique way of seasoning/cooking it. So having grown up with many dishes listed on the menus, it’s hard for me not to compare them to the version I love the most. Think of BBQ– everyone has their own version they seem to favor. Soooo having said all that, why am I writing this review? Because I like what Gyroz eatery offers – even though it’s not the version I grew up with! That says a lot in my book! Their chicken and beef kebabs are soooo good. Cooked to order, they are packed with flavor and still really tender and juicy by the time they land in your mouth. I have tried their platter option, where the meat is served over rice. And that rice is pretty damn good! Many places around town serve a bland or minimally flavored rice that doesn’t add anything more than a plateful of carbs but this rice takes it up a notch. It’s not like any other rice I had before. It has a beautiful light and fluffy texture with a savory aroma rich in some warm spices such as cinnamon and cardamom(or at least, those are the spices I could taste). It pairs well with the meats but if you ever have leftovers, try the rice mixed with their garlic sauce. HEAVEN! My favorite item on the menu is their babaganoush! It’s exactly what it is supposed to taste like– smoky and creamy eggplant spread… Creamy enough to be spread on a piece of bread but not overpowered by tahini like what other places serve. I usually stop in to get an order of babaganoush to-go if I’m going to a potluck party and it becomes an instant party favorite!!! (I haven’t had their gyros because I save my appetite for those for the trips I take to visit my family back at home.) Probably the most important part of this place is the owners. They are really friendly people and know what they are doing. If they decide to expand this business and turn it into a full-service restaurant, I have no doubts that they would do great and I would be one of their loyal customers!!! Although my first visit to this place was purely to keep a friend company, I now come here with one purpose in mind– to make my tummy very happy !!!

Kudos to the aunty who always greets us with a big beautiful smile. Every time we walk in here it’s always great service, and the food is fantastic. I always get my usual, the Felafel sandwich combo. I was in love with every bite. The felafels are perfectly cooked too. Inside was soft and tender, outside crunchy but not too burnt. He ate the Gyros sandwich combo. With super thin sliced meat, fresh cut tomato, a little bit of fresh salad and red onion, the restaurant’s secret Mediterranean yogurt delicious sauce, and a pita bread cooked to the T. What more can a person ask for? The meat was tender not all dried and burnt. Marvelous! The topic of discussion over this lovely meal was«how do they make the felafels so tasty?» And even tho we don’t know the answer, regardless, it’s all mouth watering goodness at it’s finest. On a rating of 1 – 10, this little Mediterranean restaurant gets a TEN!!! 5 stars for the service 5 stars for the food Love this place! So glad we found it, thank you Unilocalers!
