Just Awesome! My wife and I love to eat here and its a great place to take the family for something different when they visit. I love the breakfast crepes the most(especially with their sausage) if I’m wanting a meal, but your best bet here are the desert crepes — even if we eat a meal somewhere else near the square, we usually stop by for a desert crêpe afterwards.

Not sure that the others ate at the same place! YUK! We were greeted by a very chef with a very dirty apron. Three times he said it would be a couple minutes til he could get to us. We had told him after the first time that it was ok as we did not yet know what we wanted. Ordered at the counter, ordered water to drink, had to go help ourselves to three empty water pitchers. Asked a waitress(who was so very busy talking on her cell phone) if she could fill them. She took one and put some water in it, and about three cubes of ice. Warm. Crepes got done. Chef called for waitress. Still on phone. Crêpe sat on counter for 5 minutes getting cold.(We were only about 5 ft. away, had we know it was ours, would have been happy to grab it). Brought on crêpe on white plate. Just crêpe. Nothing else. No garnish. No sauce. Just a underdone cold crêpe. We each took one bite. Looked at each other and said«I don’t think so». The flavor was not even good. We got up and walked out. The waitress and chef just stood behind the counter(again about 5 feet from us) and watched us. No «is there something wrong» no «Is there something we could do». Nothing. Should have known, we asked locals at 4 of the downtown businesses where would be a good lunch and none of them mentioned the Crepes on the Square. In fact, when asked, the avoided the question about the restaurant directly. Needless to say, never again.

YUMMMM-AYYYYYY! I love crepes, so I might be biased.. . This place has AMAZING crepes, I really can’t lie. It’s on the square(hence the name) so it’s a nice, small, cozy spot. It has two floors, but don’t think that means a lot of room. There aren’t a lot of places to sit. The top floor has a chalkboard you can write on! How wonderful is that! But that can mean there are bizzare things written/drawn on here.. . The service is friendly and casual. You order at the counter & take a number and a seat. They deliver your drinks & food. The atmosphere isn’t worth writing home about, but the food is!

The crepes here are good and the prices are cheap ranging from $ 4.29 — $ 6.39 for a crêpe which is much cheaper than Chez Elle’s $ 5-$ 10 crepes. They even offer multiple bottomless coffees including the Roasterie Christopher Elbow chocolate coffee here for only $ 1.63. Service is always friendly here too. However, I have two major gripes with Crepes on the Square: 1) The shoddy carpet throughout the first and second floors is outdated and should be replaced with wood floors. 2) I’m not sure if it’s the carpeting or the historic building, but it always smells a bit musty to me inside. If you don’t mind that, then this can be a good spot to read, study, or have quiet conversation. There is free wifi and a study area upstairs with a chalkboard.

So delicious! A great addition to downtown Liberty. Whether going for a cappuccino($ 3.50) or a savory or dessert crêpe($ 4.50 to $ 6.50), this is a great place to head morning, noon or evening. The breakfast crêpe with bacon, eggs and cheddar was amazing. My friend’s lemon curd crêpe though was delicious and makes a second trip well worth it! The wifi also makes the cozy tables upstairs a great study area. Went on a Sunday, so they don’t open til 11am(7am on weekdays) and our crepes and drinks took less than 10mins. Very happy with the service and atmosphere.

I like this place… good variety of savory and sweet crepes, sandwiches, etc. The coffee is from the Roasterie which is a KC favorite! The local atmosphere and location make it a great spot for lunch or a dessert trip. Try it out and you won’t be disappointed!

You enter Crepes on the Square, and wait in a line. At this point you’re given a menu, you order and you pay. This was confusing, and I walked right past the menu. There was one table left, and some tables upstairs and outside. I ordered and paid, and had somewhere to be at 1:30, it was 12:45. He said it would be a 20 minute wait. I almost took my money and walked out, but I decided to wait, while my eyes guarded the one small table left in the shop, and timed others getting their meals. Service was slow, but good. I couldn’t figure out, at first, where the iced tea was, and it was almost empty. But I got it, and sat down. I listened and watched while the staff discussed World of Warcraft, but hey, I can talk for hours about World of Warcraft. That in itself made me feel welcome. I had started this review on my Mytouch, and I think the server walked by me and saw me on Unilocal. As soon as I put my phone down, my crêpe(banana foster) was served. It wasn’t a 20 minute wait. It was coated in yummy caramel, with enough bananas in the filling, and a nice dollop of whipped cream. The server, several times asked me how my meal was, but I’m sure he didn’t ask others. OMG it was good. Perfect, and only 4.95. They make their crepes from scratch, and you can actually make your own crepes, as it says on the menu, but I didn’t see anyone doing this. I watched as they carefully poured the batter, and made each crêpe. It was so good, and they were busy. I hope they stay around. The few times I get to Liberty, things change.

Apparently I am the only one NOT seeing the appeal to Crepes on the Square. Maybe it was because I did not have a crêpe. I opted instead for a panini. I had the veggie. It was a sad, sad sandwich. Supposedly it has mushroom, spinach, cheese, pesto, roma tomato and possibly something else. I couldn’t figure out the mushrooms, either they are small, fresh mushrooms that were sliced or possibly *gasp* canned mushrooms. I tasted a small bit of the pesto when I bit into it. The bun was good-it was a ciabatta type wheat bun. You have the choice of white or wheat. The cheese was shredded(mozarella?) and barely melted. There is something nauseating about half melted white cheese… yak! Anyway, the pickle… well, it was even more sad. Being a pickle snob, I expect my pickle to be tasty, firm, and a normal color-not lime green. I assume it was the run of the mill vlasic. The sandwich was also served with chips. Whatever… they’re chips. Not that original for a side. To drink I had a café au lait. I was instructed to get coffee from the little coffee area near the back of the store and my steamed milk would be brought out to me. Hmm. Okay. I headed to the back of the store and discovered a delicious Christopher Elbow chocolate/Roasterie coffee. The best thing I saw so far. It was delicious. My steam milk never arrived and I had to ask for it after which it was promptly brought to me. There were probably 20 – 25 people in the restaurant at the time I was there. I asked for my food to go. In the 20 minutes I waited for my order to arrive, I had the opportunity to observe the staff and the flow of customers. This little café cannot effectively handle 25 customers at a time. The preparation of orders seemed a little disorganized. Apparently everything is cooked out front where you can see what’s happening. There are probably 7 tables on the ground floor of the restaurant. Apparently there is seating upstairs in a loft type area. I saw stairs, but really had no idea that there were additional tables up there until I was sitting looking around. A sign stating«additional seating upstairs» may have helped. I’d give this café a C. I would go back to try the crepes, however, I will not get a sandwich there again. You could make a better sandwich home for a lot cheaper. When I eat out, I expect to have something at least a little unique or special that I might not be able to prepare at home. Unfortunately this place failed that test. Maybe it will pass with the crepes.

Ok. The first indication that this place was good is that I didn’t even get to take any photos of the food before it got devoured. Crepes on the Square is worth the drive to downtown Liberty. We went this evening about 6:45PM and were able to order and sit down immediately. They do say they get very busy every day at lunchtime and that Saturdays are crazy all day starting at about 8:00AM. Oh, and they also have upstairs seating which could accomodate a small to moderate group.(There was a speaker upstairs tonight with a table of about 10 people.) If you’ve read my review for another creperie in KC, this place is nothing like that. The crepes here are thin(not quite all the way thin like France but close) and they are a showcase for the fillings. My son had the Monte Cristo(which I didn’t even get to smell before it was gone). All I could hear from my right side was, «Oh man this is so-o-o good!» My younger daughter opted for a breakfast crêpe of egg, sausage & cheese(which my son also loved), and I had the Greek. Mine was great the only thing I felt it was missing was a little sauce — maybe tzatziki? We then shared a S’more(again I didn’t even get to get near this one) and a Lemon Curd(to die for!). They have 2 kids crepes — a PB&J and a ham & cheese. A little boy at a table near us had the PB&J and wasn’t letting any of the women he was with anywhere near it, so I guess it was good! What this place did right was to select 7 – 8 savory crepes and the same number of sweet. Then add 4 – 5 breakfast ones served all day. This has allowed them to really perfect the flavors in each one. Kudos on a good plan! The owner also has the custard place right next door(but that will have to be for another day!). If you don’t like crepes they also offer paninis, two soups daily, salads and a parfait. They serve a wide selection of Roasterie coffee both hot & cold, frappes and non coffee drinks including Italian sodas and chai. If you are hunting for something different to eat for any meal(they open at 7:00AM M-F, 8:00AM Sat. &11:00AM Sun.) I would make the effort to come by and eat here. Even if you live closer to downtown I think it will be worth the trip. I know we’ll be back!

This little crêpe/sandwich/dessert/coffee shop was perfect. The ambiance and décor of the place was awesome. The aroma of fresh ingredients and fresh coffee made the place very warm and welcoming. I quickly reviewed the menu and decided on the Margarhita Crêpe. This crêpe came perfectly cooked with mozz. cheese, tomatoes, basil, and the best pesto every stuffed inside. The crêpe was delicious. My wife had the turkey and cheese panini and it was equally as good. Everything is prepared fresh to order and the flavors jump out at you with each bite. We then shared the smore’s dessert crêpe, with graham crackers, and marshmallows inside. The crêpe is then covered with powdered sugar, chocolate sauce, and whipped cream. When we were done we wanted to order another one, but were too full to think about stuffing one down. We will be back soon. This place is a must if your in Liberty!

My fiancé and I were in Liberty Square visiting the courthouse over the noon hour and decided to find something to eat. I was pleasantly surprised to find Crepes on the Square, as the last time I was in the area, the space was occupied by a somewhat second-rate bookstore/coffee shop. CotS was a huge improvement! There’s a diverse selection of crepes, both sweet and savory, sandwiches and daily specials are listed on a sidewalk chalkboard out front. We came in at the start of the lunch rush, so it did take a little while. You can’t really rush a crêpe, so we waited about 15 mins from order to arrival. It was worth the wait. With the space’s loft area, there’s generous seating inside, but it filled up quickly while we were there. If you’re going to visit as a group, I would keep it to 4 or less. There’s limited café-style seating outside, and the friendly staff are happy to bring your orders out to you; even during the lunch rush. The food was great and prepared with fresh, whole ingredients. I had the day’s special: a crêpe with chipotle pulled pork, queso fresco and a cilantro lime sauce. My fiancé had the chicken pesto crêpe. The portions are generous, but disappeared quickly. Our dessert crêpe, which we split, stole the show. Warm, fresh lemon curd with a raspberry coulée, berries, and a scoop of custard. It was delicious and I had to fight the urge to lick the plate. Overall, it was a good experience and we’ll be going back. I’d try to arrive a little before noon to get ahead of the lunch crowd and ensure you have plenty of time in case there’s a wait.

Such a welcome addition to the neighborhood! Very inviting, and the crepes are great! I have been here a few times, with a small group and large. Savory and sweet crepes, your choice! The Greek is great, and chicken pesto too! They have a great lemon curd crêpe – get one savory and one sweet and share! Home made marshmallows during hot chocolate season! They even have a kiddie size crêpe! Friendly service, and tasty too!

What’s not to like? The Greek crêpe was delicious, my wife liked the chicken and mushroom crêpe. All the ingredients seemed fresh, as if they were cooked in-house. A lemon curd dessert crêpe was fantastic, with a little group of berries and whipped cream. I really liked the frozen custard as well! The place is huge, with 10 – 12 tables for up to 5 persons on the main floor, with more tables upstairs. It’s clean and bright and the acoustics are good, thanks to indoor-outdoor carpeting. The manager is personable and helpful, –admittedly the place was almost empty at 4 on Saturday afternoon, –but our service was indulgent! I’m looking forward to returning to try a panini, and another dessert crêpe! I’m trying to save 5 star-ratings for places with award-winning chefs and innovative, creative dishes. But if it were possible, I would give 4 and ½ stars for Crepes on the Square!

I ate here with the family. The variety was a little frou frou. I would have liked a «make your own crêpe» option with a filling selection or more basic crepes. My mother’s food was dry. The place is super small and gets crowded past groups of 4.

Hit this place weekly while my daughter is at dance class. GREAT white mocha coffee and the staff really knows what they are doing. Best seats are the plush chairs in the front looking out to the square. Can’t wait to try the crepes!

Not your ordinary breakfast crepes. They have an excellent variety of savory, breakfast and dessert crepes. Any of their sandwich fillings can also be made into a crêpe. There is also a daily special that’s always on the money as well. Fan them on Facebook; they often post their dailly special there. — Servings are ample. My friend and I share a savory crêpe and a dessert crêpe and leave satisfied. We can eat for less than $ 15, the two of us. Very affordable. Crepes range in price from $ 4 – 6.50. My picks for gotta-try-it: S’more(housemade marshmallows, mmmm) and Greek. I make the drive to Liberty from Overland Park. It’s worth every mile. In the spring/summer, you can also get frozen custard from their Scoops store next door. They make some creative concretes. Love the Chai concrete. I understand they serve the custard(unconcreted) at the Crepes store in the off season.

NICE. The crepes come in every size, shape, style and flavor. The soup and sandwich/or crêpe is a nice meal. The breakfast crepes are really good. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. My meal was under $ 10 for entrée, dessert and coffee. The staff is attentive and will help you with your selection. Try it… you’ll like it!

My friend really wanted to bring me here. I was hesitant as it is a bit of a drive for a sammisch, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Food was delicious, staff was great, prices very reasonable. Coffee wasn’t too shabby, either! Oh, and try a desert crêpe some time. In short, think Panera… only better in every way(and with crepes!)

This place was a very pleasant surprise. It had been recommended by a friend and we decided to give it a shot. It’s not common to see a place around Kansas City dedicated to Crepes. Their menu has a nice variety. Their crêpe selection is fantastic. They have lunch/dinner crepes(chicken, ham, etc), breakfast crepes served all day(i.e. bacon, egg, and cheese) and dessert crepes(i.e. banana and nutella). They also serve paninis, soups, and salads. I decided to try the bacon, egg, and cheese crêpe and my girlfriend tried a chicken, spinach, and mozzarella crêpe. The crepes are quite large(square, filled up most of the plate). I tried both of the crepes we ordered and LOVED them both! My girlfriend did as well. Great flavor, filling, and unique. We decided to split a banana and nutella crêpe for dessert and it was incredible! The atmosphere is inviting, the people are great, and the experience was quite good. The owner came over and talked to us and recommended a couple crepes to try next time. We will certainly be back. If you are anywhere near the Liberty square(or even if you have to drive out of your way a little), go here!
