Awesome hidden gem in liberty. I’ve had the gravy scramble, chicken scramble, salmon benedict, crab omlet, and west coast omlet. All have been excellent. The mocha is also excellent. The smoothies are so so. Parking is tough but otherwise we’ll worth your visit.

They have great food, but it gets super busy. Go early, they have the best frenchtoast with berries.

This place is our go-to place on Sunday’s for b-fast. Unfortunately, the entire town of Liberty feels the same way. That’s ok though, because they give me lattes while I’m waiting and I get extra time to think about whether I’m going to stuff my face with the southwest scramble, or the chocolate chip pancakes, or the breakfast burrito, or the west coast omelette… or maybe I’ll make the hubby get pancakes and steal his? And don’t forget the bacon!!! The servers are always super friendly, although when it’s really busy they look slightly frazzled. Small place, lots of people, I get it. But they always power through with a smile on their face! If you’re a breakfast person, I highly recommend. If you’re not a crowds person, I’d recommend ordering to-go on Sundays.

Food is always good and fresh. Owner is on site frequently. The servers are friendly. I love the menu. Breakfast and lunch are both good. I love their slaw.

I’ve dined in at least 5 more times since my initial review. Still love it, the service is still great and I will definitely continue to return :)

This place is definitely great! The food was prepared just right and tasted something right out of my own kitchen. I’m am definitely going back, as a matter of fact I’m headed there tomorrow morning. Service was great and extra friendly, nice and calm atmosphere with well mannered folks dinning. The bacon!, omg the bacon! make sure you ask for bacon with whatever it is that your having.

Went for breakfast because I heard a lot of good things. Parking during the week day morning/lunch around here can be tricky. It’s right in the Liberty square and there isn’t a lot of places to park to begin with. Once I did find a parking spot, I made my way in and was nicely greeted. I had a seat and then the server told me about their daily specials. I went with the french toast since a friend suggested it. It comes with a blueberry/strawberry compote. The compote is good but, I wished that I would have just gotten some good olé syrup for my french toast. They give you three slices of french type bread and it’s pretty good. I could probably have eaten another slice without hesitation. My server was nice and efficient. I might be back but, it’s not a place that I feel is a must.

I like supporting local businesses… This was my first try in Liberty and I loved it! I’m not a big breakfast/brunch eater but I had the best pancakes ever here! There was a bit of a wait time but really worth it. And I rarely say that about any establishment. I also had an omelet scramble which wasn’t all that memorable but good nonetheless. Quaint place. Kind service. Definitely will be a repeat customer… Just for the pancakes, which are HUGE by the way!

Lived in liberty 50 years and have ate at every Restaurant here and this is the best by far. The bacon is the best in all of KC. Don’t miss out on this place.

Those apple cinnamon pancakes! They are like pancakes on clouds. They are what dreams are made of… alright maybe I’m taking this a bit far, but really I can eat those every day. You know you have a winning pancake when it can be eaten by itself without being smothered in syrup. How do they make them so delicious and fluffy? Teach me your ways!

For a local business in Liberty this place is a must try. The food was delicious and has a nice homey feel. The staff was polite and the price was much cheaper than breakfast at an IHOP.

Recently went for lunch, and I was really impressed. Ginger Sue’s always had great breakfasts when we go. Best pancakes in town, great Benedicts, and very unique, tasty omelettes(turkey avocado is a favorite). We went around 1pm on a Friday, and there were a few tables open. With breakfast served all day, it was tough to choose between the egg white turkey omelette or a lunch item. I decided on the house-made black bean burger served with apple slaw. The burger were definitely handmade– very tasty, topped with spicy salsa, but very soft in texture. I’d order it again, but the bun was a white bun rather than the wheat that was noted on the menu. A small detail, but if ordering as a healthy option, it’s something to note.

Always a good spot for breakfast, the blueberry pancakes to me are the best with a combination of the west coast omelette

Let me start off by saying that before we get some generic owner’s response to this review is that I am not one to leave negative reviews on local businesses as I am a local business owner myself. I try and use local businesses as much as possible in my daily life. For me to get to a point that I feel as though it’s necessary to leave a review is a big deal for me, especially if it’s a negative one. I have eaten at Ginger Sue’s on several occasions with mostly positive results. The food is good, the location is decent. I say decent because it’s in downtown Liberty and parking is scarce. If you’re fine with eating your breakfast with mostly attorneys and other businesspersons, then this is the place for you. On Mother’s Day I took my mom and my siblings there for breakfast. Our party was not very big, but it wasn’t small either. We were seated fairly promptly. The waitress was very«matter of fact». She didn’t really interact with us at all other than just taking our orders and bringing our food. She didn’t do anything extra, but she didn’t do anything wrong either. She simply did her job and went out about her way. We got our food pretty quickly and we were done eating probably within 30 minutes of getting our food. After we were all done, the waitress cleared our table and brought me the check. There was probably a 15 minute window from when I got the check and to when she came and got the check from me after I paid. Once we were all paid up, we sat around to talk for a minute as a family. After we talked for about 15 minutes, an extremely rude waitress, she wasn’t even our waitress, came to the table and asked us to leave saying that we had been there for an hour and a half and there were other people waiting to eat. The place was far from being busy to the point where they needed to rush people out. I spent over $ 100 on breakfast, and once the bill was paid… We were pushed out. The interesting thing about the whole situation was that I kept an eye out on the entire staff. Once our family got up to leave after being dismissed, I closely watched every one of the employees in the restaurant and it was clearly evident that they were extremely uncomfortable with the situation. The lady that asked us to leave gave us a smile as we walked out the door but the minute she turned around to talk to her coworkers, she began running her mouth saying God knows what. Again, I watched the entire thing and saw how the employees reacted to this situation. I say that mostly that this was the actions of one particular employee, but I don’t know for sure. All I know for sure is that the actions of this sorry excuse for a waitress ruined Mother’s Day for my family. We are a large family and it is very hard to get us all together. I can tell you for certain that I used to send people to this restaurant on a regular basis but now I will be making a point to not recommend this place. So let’s all sit back and wait for a ho-hum response from the owner saying how sorry they were and explaining their version of the events. We’ve all seen these responses so if there is anything I can tell you for certain, it is that I’m not making this up and wouldn’t take the time out of my busy day to write this review if it wasn’t worth mentioning.

Yes Yes this little gem is in downtown Liberty folks… great great breakfast!!! Every single time I go to this little gem I’m always beyond delighted… the bacon is the most divine burst of flavors ever… makes you think of your grandmas bacon, you know how everything grandma cooked was amazing! And the banana pancakes w/peanut butter, just simply WOW!!! Live on the wild side and order the Salmon Benedict, you will not be disappointed! I seriously loved every bite of it, but its definitely shareable! This is one thing that makes you go mmmm mmmm mmmm out loud!!! I’ve been there several times and can’t say I’ve ever been disappointed or had bad service ever… keep in mind it’s not a huge place so if there’s a wait JUST do it!!!

First time dining here and it was definitely a good decision. The food was decadent and delicious. I had the Belgian Waffle with berry compote and a side of beacon. The Waffle was light, fluffy, and full of flavor. The compote was served warm and was absolutely sinful. My buddy had the Denver Omelet with a side of beacon. He inhaled it, so I’m assuming he was equally please with his selection.

Our server was great. The food was pretty tasty. It would be nice to have more side options such as eggs. I would love to see a breakfast deal with eggs, hash browns and biscuits and gravy. I would recommend this to others.

This place smells like a diner as soon as you enter. It has a nice homey feel, without feeling like a cliché. I had the fried chicken salad with homemade honey mustard dressing. It was a really nice portion — lots of crisp salad pieces covered with tons of fried chicken bites. The homemade dressing was very good. Hubby had a burger with homemade bacon and the apple coleslaw. The coleslaw was very light and had a crisp flavor and I thought it was a nice touch to the hamburger and fries. The burger had a good flavor but came out a little overdone for him. The burger itself wasn’t huge, but it was plenty of food. Our server was very friendly and attentive and did a great job, especially since we found out she was new. Looking forward to checking out their new location in Olathe…

Charming space! Whether cute or not, it doesn’t make up for lacking service. The food was A-ok with no complaints there. All of your traditional breakfast(and lunch!) standards come full circle here. Everyone will find something to choose from so that’s a plus. Nothing better than grabbing one of their smoothies in morning from time to time as well! In general I find most places I visit in the 3-star range(just ok, not somewhere I would repeatedly find myself on a regular basis). I really wanted to give a 4 stars but the servers all seem… disconnected? For a lack of better term. They’re present but rather deflated. It really overshadows.

Best breakfast joint in the northland KC area! Best! There is typically a wait, but the food is worth waiting for. The restaurant is nestled into the charming historic Liberty area and the inside atmosphere is warm and inviting. This place has something for everyone. My husband and I always get the breakfast burrito and it is fabulous! It comes with delicious rosemary breakfast potatoes. Their pancakes are also the bee’s knees! I love the chocolate chip, but my husband’s favorite is the peanut butter banana! So good! If you are looking for a place to eat breakfast, brunch, or lunch — Ginger Sue’s is a safe and delicious bet! Highly recommend.
