Came here for the 1st time on a Monday afternoon, pretty dead but got served quickly and the food came out quickly. FOOD is amazing! Coming here again! Top favorite diners.

Typical diner, but worse. The man behind the counter/register(owner?) was dropping«f bombs» on a phone call and in conversation atleast 3 times. I was not even seated next to him and heard him from across the restaurant. All while his young daughter sat next to him. In a diner I am not expecting anything fancy, but it was super rude and uncomfortable.

My favorite place for breakfast. Really good coffee and great omelettes. Love the fries. The one dinner I had there I didn’t like. Seems like a different cook works on Sunday’s because my omelettes come out funky.

Stopped in for breakfast with a co-worker on a Friday morning at 9:00 am and it was quiet. I ordered the banana pancakes with sausage and my co-worker ordered 2 eggs over easy with bacon and rye toast. None of my 3 pancakes had bananas in them. I wasn’t going to send them back. It’s pancakes! They were hot and tasty regardless. My 2 fat sausage links were tasty and cooked fresh. My co-worker was pleased with his meal. The coffee was good. Overall, it was a typical diner experience. Decent food with good service. Prices were reasonable. I would go back.

This place is terrible. Not only is the food subpar, the service is even worse. The waitress took our menus in a rather curt fashion. Then the waitress took our order without repeating it back to make sure that she got the order correct. She brings me out a plate with what looked like ham, eggs and grits. The ham was interesting looking especially because I did not order it. I ordered pancakes but she«heard» ham-steak. I have never heard of ham-steak and don’t know why anyone would order it. Smh. Needless to say, her tip sucked just like her service.

1970’s décor. Food served all on the same plate so meat juice leaked all over the potato and vegetables before it ever reached my table(poor serving technique). Salad was yellow lettuce and green tomatoes Soup slopped in the bowl like no one cared, and was not tasty. Watery jello for dessert. When I arrived home, I saw that the waitress did not include the rest of the meat from my meal even though I told her I wanted to take it home(as it was the only good item in the entire meal). Potato and vegetable acceptable. Waitress nearly dropped what was left of the meal when attempting to clear the table. Take-out containers are non-environmental-friendly styrofoam. I’d say skip it, but in Linden… where else are you going to go?

As soon as I sat down… I told the waitress that I needed to order something quick(had to be in and out in 30 minutes… heading to work… she suggested that I order a breakfast sandwich(I couldn’t because I am gluten-free)…I ordered the next best thing that should be quick… scrambled eggs, hash browns and sausage… glass of water. It took 25 minutes for it to come out! There was only one other person there in the place at the time. 10 minutes into waiting, the waitress tells me that it will be only a minute. NOT! When it is finally brought out… she said that there was a problem with the«Fryer AND the grill»…hence the burnt hash browns and the the nearly raw sausage. I said to her…“that took a really long time!” She didn’t respond or acknowledge my dissatisfaction. Just terrible service and food. Shame on you!

For what it is I really love this place. It’s very affordable and cozy. Classic diner food and all of our servers have been very friendly and attentive. Their Rubens are my standby. I’ve never had a bad experience and I’m sure I’ll be back many times.

Terrible. Bad bitter coffee. Bad bitter service. Our waitress behaved as if she was on crack. There was no bus boy so the waiters cleared the tables(perhaps this is what’s contributing to the poor attitudes). Standard diner prices but portions were noticeably small and, where possible, recipes were watered down! We had heard good things about this diner a couple of years ago. Clearly something has drastically changed.

Sleepy diner with great curly fries. The chicken fingers in my child’s meal were ground up meat, skip that.

Seems like a family operation, with specials every day and care for the Senior Citizens too. I like their Texas Wieners and home style cooking. If you want cheap breakfast and dinner this is the place. You can also fill up quick and catch a train or walk down to aviation plaza for shopping.

Good breakfast and dinner, never too busy and you never get rushed to eat. A very relaxing place to eat.

Ok I have been going to this diner for years and the decline is showing more and more. I was hungry so I decided, against my better judgement. well I decided to order the pork chops.(we were out of) then I decided to order the chicken scampi. when I came in looked okay but, it was bland. the waiter came to ask me how my food was and I told in bland and it needed more garlic. he explained they ran out of garlic. Humm should you tell me that before I got my meal. They also water down the coffee and when the pot get low, mix the old with the new. They need to revamp this place, and let the son run it without the parents

I like this diner. It’s close to the train station, so it’s convenient for me to grab a quick dinner here. It’s always quick and the service is friendly. I always get their hot dog — it’s grilled perfectly and has a crispy skin. Their seasoned curly fries are great.

I’ve always noticed this place while passing by on the train, so when I found myself in the neighborhood, I thought I’d give it a shot. Not bad, pretty much your typical NJ diner with the kind of food you’d expect. They apparently have a charcoal grill, hence the name. It’s a little small compared to other diners(wait staff of three) and the interior is unusual. Lots of wood. I liked seeing the clientele of the place though. It’s a working-class neighborhood, yet a very diverse mix of people. Can’t say I’d go out of my way to visit again, though. If I’m in the area, it’s a decent option.

My waitress convinced me into getting The Grill’s homemade burgers and French fries. One word: awesome; I’m glad I got it. I also got a cup of homemade soup with my burger for 50 cents. does anything cost 50 cents anymore? You can taste the difference of their fresh ground beef, definitely not frozen. yummmmmm

A diner — clean; good food; good service; reasonable prices.
