Best bakery in NorCal! The bread is amazing. The chocolate dipped macaron was perfect for the non-gluten folks. I highly recommend this bakery!

I love soup for lunch no matter what time of the year. They have soups every day and it’s always fresh and delicious. Their sandwiches are so good too, they make the best bread ever! All their pastries, quiches, now they also serve pizza all freshly made. I love everything about this place. It’s my go to almost every day for lunch.

Love the owners, she, especially was so welcoming and sweet, while he was so busy making all the pastry items:-). We noticed they have quite a following and that many customers were greeting with hugs and hellos. That makes for a very lovely experience; authentic. The croissant was light, lifted and crispy and my son devoured it-I barely managed the bite I got. I had a savory quiche, with ham that was delicious, perfectly seasoned and just the right egg to meat to crust ratio. I can’t wait for summer sandwiches on the patio.

Sat morning, my husband and I wanted to eat french pastries with coffee. Yeah, i searched at Unilocal to find out this cute bakery. Pricy but good quality and fresh pastries and french pressed coffee. Not many seating inside of shop but friendly customer service. Will go back to try different pastries.

I met the owner’s of this wonderful bakery and café on Thursday and was able to try many wonderful and delicious freshly baked items from the menu. I ate the absolute best tasting artichoke quiche ever to cross my lips. The croissant was delicately baked with an amazing crust, yet not too heavy. The cappuccino was frothed perfectly and the coffee was not bitter. I also had a great French baguette and look forward to trying everything on the menu on my next visit. Lenore and Richard are true artists and craftspeople. I appreciate the detail both add to their baking. Using the freshest local ingredients, combined with traditional baking, marries their old school values while creating a very comfortable and lovely atmosphere in downtown Livermore.

Their food is awesome! If you ask for Megan Sharp(one of the employees) she’s great for customer service and has attractive personality. Their sandwiches are great! Anyone who’s a nomad of Livermore should check this place out! Don’t forget to tip! Their food is that good!

L O V E Cassé Croute. Quiche is to die for and their lunch sandwiches are incredible too, not to mention Richard and Lenore are as delightful as their pastries! Go early or they might sell out!

We go here often. It’s a nice setting, with outdoor seating(heaters if necessary) available. The majority of the pastries are amazing.(The cinnamon roll was not good, but everything else is great). The breakfast sandwiches on croissants are especially good. I only give 4 stars because sometimes the service is a little lacking. Seems like they have new people all the time who don’t know what they’re doing. The owners are great, but their other workers not so much.

Get here early before the best pastries are sold out. I’ve been here 5 times and I’ve only been able to snag that elusive almond croissant once. The parking can be sticky and service uneven. I enjoyed the almond croissant a lot and I highly recommend it, but if it’s a choice between sleeping in on a Saturday or getting an almond croissant, I’ll take my chances and go to Peet’s and get something when I wake up. And when I say service is «uneven» I’m being generous. I like supporting local businesses, but customer service needs to be a priority, especially with such high prices.

Everything is wonderful! My pants no longer fit because of Casse Croute and their wonderful pastries. Petit Fours the best, Tuna sandwich is fabulous I have no idea what she puts in there. My husband and son love the French ham and cheese on baguette. Lenore and I bonded since we are both Long Islanders. Just hearing her accent makes me feel less homesick as a recent transplant. We speak Noo Yawk! Can’t recommend it enough

Amazing blueberry muffins. Savory ham and cheese muffin warmed up has so many layers of flavor. If you like cheddar bay biscuits at all, this is the breakfast muffin for you!

I’m not impressed. When I ordered my sandwich she didn’t tell me I had options for bread… she said sliced or hard… I didn’t want hard but then saw someone with croissant sandwich which is what I wanted but she didn’t say it was an option. When I asked they already started making them so she was irritated i asked but she made it anyway. I could go to Panera and get a better sandwich.

The COFFEE is to die for here! It has a perfect balance between flavor and strength. It’s a pressed French toast and I would come here just for the coffee. The French pastries are just right although their sandwiches are just OK. The owners, Lenore and Richard have created a quaint French bakery vibe with assorted furniture and wall hangings. If the weather is nice, they have plenty of outside seating or you can just watch the rain from the big windows as I am today!

Stopped in this morning to pick up some goods. I was very disappointed when the young girl handled my cash and then without washing her hands touched my food. I guess they don’t realize how dirty money is and how disease is spread. Won’t be going back.

I have been to Casse-Croute twice only because I told myself I would give it a second chance and it not great either times I went. First of all they sell out of almost everything my mid morning or lunch time so if you want an afternoon tea and pastry most of their selection is gone. Second, the staff is not super knowledgeable about what their pastries are made with. Nor are they happy when you ask them about it, both times I had people roll their eyes at me. For the quality and taste their pastries and drinks are overpriced. I have had much better at other places. Maybe I will try it again in the future but for now I am staying away.

Came in for lunch around 11:30am on a Thursday. Display cases were already over half empty. Ordered the tuna salad sandwich with lentil soup combo. Got it on sliced bread. That bread was light and fluffy. Very fresh. I’m picky about my tuna salad. Most places add too much mayo and make a loose, «soupy» mix. C-CB’s tuna salad had just enough mayo to make a tight mix. Another difference from other place, C-CB doesn’t add pickle relish to the mix. Instead, they gave me mini cornichons(French pickles) on the side. Also loved the earthy lentil soup. Glad I was able to get it when I did. Not 10 minutes and 6 customers later, they sold the last cup. Lemon bar was divine. Pain au chocolat was soft and flakey with a generous portion of chocolate tucked inside. Chocolate dipped coconut macaroons were moist and delicious. Like a giant Mounds bar but better as the coconut had that toasty crust that brought out an intense coconut flavor. The chocolate chip cookie cup topped with a dollop of ganache was heavenly. I took it home and microwaved it for 7 seconds, just enough to warm the cookie and soften the chocolate. Flan tart was rubbery. Reminded me of the egg custard tarts from Chinatown but not as good. Also didn’t care for the decadent chocolate cake. I like dark chocolate but even this cake was too bitter for me. The proprietors are husband and wife. The husband is French and seems to be the baker. The wife is Italian-American and handles the lunch crowd. She makes the sandwiches and dishes up the soup. When it gets busy, she answers the phone, fills orders and helps at the register. The majority of the space is filled with the open kitchen. Only 4 tables inside. Most of the seating is on the sidewalk and outside patio. Atmosphere was real country French, down to earth and not trendy chic at all. Parking was difficult, despite being adjacent to a city lot. Finally discovered space in the gravel portion of the city lot across the street. If I was willing to go just a bit further, I could have probably also scored a spot in the garage down the street by the movie theaters.

My bestie and I came over for a brunch before our Yosemite hiking. We love the walk in atmosphere with seating a in and outside. We ordered a chocolate croissant, Raisin tart pastry, regular quiche, butternut squash soap, large French ham and 2 regular coffee. Totals about $ 32, not bad in Livermore area. Great service and very yummy pastries and bread. The owner came out and introduced herself and we all from New England area. really wish the portions are a bit bigger, can’t wait to go back again…

My attempt at avoiding a chain coffee shop backfired. While I ordered an egg and cheese croissant I received a ham, hard-boiled egg and cheese croissant. I didn’t know putting a sliced hard boiled egg in a breakfast sandwich was a thing. Was I wrong in assuming it would be scrambled? Luckily I’m not actually vegetarian I just didn’t want meat so I ate it anyways. My order was to go so I was long gone from the café when I realized their mistake. On a positive note, their French press coffee is very good!

I really enjoyed the lentil soup! Came very hot. Filling and fairly priced. The atmosphere is warm and light. I really loved the fresh sunflowers on the table. The French radio was enjoyable. The only thing is that both people working were so timid and quiet, I thought for a while that they were French and didn’t speak any English! I’m serious, they looked to be in a state of mild but constant terror. Polite though!

Loved the food, ambience and service here. The apricot tart was made with the owners backyard apricots and it was delicious. Fancy coffee here too. Lenore is a great giver as she donated a coupon for our charity fundraiser for widows and orphans.

Ordered the quiche & a pear tartlet. Around $ 4 each. I enjoyed both. I don’t really eat quiche often. This had a creamy texture which I like(not sure if quiche usually is creamy or not?). Lol but I’d come back for more!

Having a 5 star experience on other items, I decided to try this place for my birthday cake. To say I was not I was not satisfied is an understatement. I ordered a single layer 8″ Decadent Chocolate Cake… sounded perfect. The day I was going to pick it up the baker called to work out frosting details, and complained about how busy they were. Really? The cake: The texture was amazing, a rich, creamy mousse. The flavor was awful… the chocolate was a complete fail, it tasted like bitter grease to me. DD agreed, and the grand kids refused to eat it. Am I picky about chocolate? You bet I am! When I purchase a $ 48 single layer cake, I expect top notch ingredients. You have wasted my time and my money.

This is a little cute bakery with so much goodies. They have a mini patio area where I ended up having my French pressed coffee with their mushroom spinach quiche. Oh it was really yummy! The staff who helped me was really nice as she didn’t even want me waiting by the counter and brought my order to my table, instead of the usual bake shop call your name, your order is here. Next time I’m getting an extra to go just to try the other stuff(especially a sweet one) as everything seems delicious.
