Friendly and warm atmosphere. I love how its located in the library. Perfect place to have a bite to eat and study/work on your computer. The food here is made fresh and is delish! I’ve had probably 3 or 4 sandwiches from here and so far so good! Keep up the good work.

This café is located next door to the library. When I first walked in, I immediately noticed the width of the long tables on the side of the café. There were tons of people on their laptops there(bonus points for the easily visible power strip on top). Some of the small café table in the middle of the room have awesome trivia cards for you to play with while you eat your sandwich. Their menu had a couple of sandwiches and I ended up ordering the veggie sandwich($ 7.50). It was like a caprese except instead of fresh mozzarella they used sliced sandwich mozzarella. It was a little bit of a turn off but it was nice that they added pesto and toasted the sandwich for me. Next time I think I’m going to order the(arti)Choke and Chicken. Their portions are small but it is convenient if you’re studying in the library.

The sandwiches were overpriced and, quite frankly, not very good. I came here specifically for the food, not the library. Maybe the sandwiches taste better after a long day at the library and anything will do.

They are open earlier than the library, which is great if you want to eat then go in early on mornings. Their sandwiches are simply the best and unique. They offer great sides and I love their Italian sodas. Just a bit pricy, but well worth it! The employees are very nice too.

They have quality sandwiches which are slightly expensive for their price since they don’t include chips or drinks and the portion is small. Also, they have a limited list of beverages on their menu. However they are flexible and work around that. When i requested for an ice blended beverage which they did not list on their menu, they promptly told me they could make one for me anyway :) Environment wise, the café is cozy and have both an outdoor and indoor component. They are usually not packed so you dont have to worry about not finding any seats. I would certainly recommend Tommie’s café for lunch or just to chill out and read a book from the library.

What is it with Livermore and the cute little joints they have? Why can’t every city have these quaint cafes, coffee shops, bars, and restaurants to seduce people with? Too bad for the other cities that don’t, plain and simple. Tommie’s Café is such a nice touch to the public library in Livermore. The staff is friendly and if they make a mistake they correct it right away, and with a sincere apology. Plus One. There is a nice spot in the café where you can plug in your computer and use the WiFi from the library. Plus One. The food they serve is simple and delish with a variety of sandwiches(and other choices) to choose from. Plus One. For the last star: decently priced stuff, always kept super clean, and it never gets too loud in the café. Thanks Tommie’s, I will stopping by frequently. If you have my green tea ready for me upon arrival I might be tempted to add another star: p — kidding, you guys are awesome.

So we stopped coming to Tommie’s after they closed their downtown location. We remembered they had a location in the library and we were in the mood for a good sandwich and Subway was not going to cut it. So we decided to make a visit. Since it had been awhile since we had last been their we were expecting HUGE changes but to our surprise the menu hadn’t changed to much maybe some additions. Anyways, while we were ordering the older gal with short blonde/red hair that was talking about running was RUDE!!! We are paying customers cut the rudeness out!!! Sigh… businesses don’t understand that great customer service= staying in business. I mean I could have taken my $ 25 dollar transaction to another sandwich joint. So all in all this will be the last time I come here unless I HAVE to.

Tommie’s has good sandwiches, no doubt about that. But it’s just soooo overpriced! I understand it’s far better quality than Subway, so I don’t expect a $ 5 footlong. But I just can’t justify spending the same amount on a sandwich that I can on a whole meal/plate at somewhere like Ale House or Yin Yin.

Awesome. We actually go here for lunch even if we don’t need the library, although once here we always need the library. Great food, very nice staff, and amazing owners. Too bad they had to leave the little brick building downtown, but no problem visiting at the current location.

I love Tommie’s and always have since they were on 2nd Street. They use Boars head meat, which is the highest quality! The sandwiches are great and I also like to order meat and use it at home during the week. The«how now foul cow» is my fav!

I can’t believe I’m giving the food concession at a library four stars. They use high quality ingredients like Boar’s Head meats. The trick to making good sandwiches is not to skimp on the quality of the ingredients. I’m glad to say they’ve figured this out. It’s not the cheapest sandwich around but the price compares favorably with other places using similar quality ingredients. It’s a little out of my way for a quick lunch, but every now and the the planetary alignment finds me in that part of Livermore at lunch time.

I loved Tommies when it was on Second Street, sad when it went away. But now that I have discovered the Library again I am super stoked that Tommie’s is back in my life! The Café has about 4 round tables inside along with a long working/eating station along the sides of the café. There are also tables outside — mostly shaded but not enough at high lunch time. I had to stay indoors this day. The place is nice and clean, menu was easy to read. I got the Veggie sandwhich which was so tasty! I am a meat eater but for some reason I love veggie sandwiches. But this veggie is a little different its pretty much a pesto capresi sandwich — it was on this wonderful thick wheat bread taht I could eat alone or with just butter. Inside was pesto, basil, mozzerella and tomato. It was perfect and filling so tasty I can’t wait to eat it again. They also have sodas, teas, coffee and juice. There were cookies and I think bars/brownies as well. Friendly service and a great place to hang out. If only I could bring the my food to eat & read at the same time! :)

As far as a great place to be alone with your thoughts to work on business, school, or personal work, you can’t get any better than this place. Fantastic menu featuring pulled pork sandwiches, great coffee, spacious work areas, wifi, and

Tommie’s has some seriously delicious sandwiches. They have a BBQ Chicken sandwich on a dutch crunch roll that will change your life. The people that work here are always really friendly, and they’re a huge part of why I keep coming back to Tommie’s. While I love the sandwiches — I really dislike the location! The parking at the library is pretty bad(not enough spaces, far away from the building) and if you’re short on time it’s hard to make it work. I would reccomend calling in advance to place your order.

Had a sandwich at Tommie’s Café yesterday with my friends. It was all I hopped it could be. The sandwiches are delicious, the staff is friendly and the location is nice. If your in the mood for sandwich that fights back, Tommie’s Café is the place!

After a grueling study session I was yearning for a simple cuppa java. What better than to have a little café inside the library. Ever since I was a kid I have adored the Livermore Public Library. It is such a treat to come study here and get away from the city. Tommie’s Deli and the Café have merged harmoniously becoming Tommie’s Café. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Tommie’s it’s a delicious filling sandwich place. The Tommie’s employees were super friendly and genuinely nice. I ordered a cup of coffee with room for soy milk. I wasn’t hungry so skipped the sandwich. Another major plus is that my sister’s highschool friend, Avery, works here. She is super awesome! If she ever makes your sandwich strike up a conversation with her. Super major plus that I didn’t have to pay extra for my soy milk! Why should I have to pay extra just because I have a dietary need. My point exactly. You get your own cup and then you head over to the coffee bar where there is an array of freshly brewed coffee carafes. Choose from Kona blend, Mocha Java, Medium Roast, among others that I can’t remember because there are so many. Each coffee has a very detailed description, which I love because then I know what I am getting. I decided on the Medium Roast coffee. It was supberb! Thank you for the wonderful cup of coffee and the excellent service! As I always say, «It’s the little things in life that count!»

Our favotite sandwich spot in Livermore /Tri-Valley — my top picks: «Piesta Pork di Resistance»(pork loin w fennel & roasted pepper spread) and«Chicken & Choke»(chicken, artichoke & sun-dried tomatoes) are unique and fantastic. Tommie’s Café @ The Library(…and civic center) is more spacious with lots of outdoor seating compared to their original location downtown on 2nd St – and well worth the extra mile.

The Livermore library is one of the gems of the East Bay. It’s a magical place. The fact that Tommy opened up a location right in the library is too good to be true. Yes, Tommy’s is more expensive than Subway but keep in mind that the sandwiches are made of quality ingredients(Boar’s Head meats and bakery quality breads) rather than the low-grade building products that make up the rather ominously named ‘five dollar foot long’. The coffee they serve is fabulous and the employees are wonderful. I’ve met Tommy, a real guy, who is a guy you’d root for even if his sammys weren’t wonderful. But they are. The Livermore Library and Tommy’s. Gotta love Livermore!

I was a bit disappointed to hear the old operators of the Livermore Library’s café had to close, but glad to hear someone was taking it over, even if it was the outrageously priced Tommie’s Deli. I’ve tried Tommie’s a couple times at its regular location on Second Street and it’s been fine, but overpriced … too crowded … crappy soda(sorry, sometimes you just want a Coke, nothin’ fancy). So I was reluctant to jump on the Tommie’s bandwagon for its takeover of the library café. But I am open-minded, mind you, so I went to try it out anyway. And they proved me wrong(mostly). Yes, it can be pricey, but it doesn’t have to be. I could be completely blind, because I could not find tuna on the menu anywhere, but I asked and they had it … so I got it. It was $ 6 — not cheap, but not going to break the bank either. And it was sooo friggin’ good. It was large enough that I thought about leaving the second half for later, but it was so much like crack that I couldn’t leave it half finished. I will definitely return for this again. The menu appears to be same here as the original location. I have previously tried the Simply Veggie sandwich that comes with tomato, lettuce, mozzarella and pesto. I thought it sounded better than it actually was, but I suppose I would try it one more time to either confirm that it’s not worth it or prove myself wrong. This is one of their«signature sandwiches,» so it’s $ 7. That’s bordering on mighty high prices for a sandwich if you ask me … unless it came with chips and/or a drink(it doesn’t). But the tuna — I highly recommend. And the employees at the library location were nice, too.
