The sushi here might be the best I ever tasted! This is a hidden gem to anyone wokring around in the area willing to drive the extra mile. It is located next to a gym in a little space but my god when I got there every seat was filled so i took it to-go and ate at work. I’d recommend this place to anyone! :)

Wasabi is our favorite sushi restaurant in the area! The Kiss of Fire is our favorite roll. Their green dragon, a classic, is also delicious. I recently had the bluefin tuna nigiri and really enjoyed it. The place is small, though we usually get in pretty quickly. If you’re going on a Friday or Saturday night, expect a little bit of a wait, but worth it!

The sushi was amazing! Also the garlic edamame. Highly recommend this place! Although, be prepared to wait for a while as it is pretty popular & a small restaurant; there’s a wait list.

We appreciated the service, the flexibility with more salad instead of rice, the food was delicious and well presented. We will come back soon, even when we live in Oakland. Thank you! Again, another great experience, great selection, splendid tasting food, super service! Best sushi place.

I’ve been to a lot of local Japanese Resto in Tri-Valley, so far this is one of the best Sushi place. And price is very reasonable.

I just ordered take-out, and it is amazingly delicious! I’m super picky and everything was perfectly tantalizing to my taste buds. I don’t remember the names of everything we ordered but I’ll name a few I remember: Salmon hand roll Hot Mama Geisha Dancing shrimp(or something like that. Lol) I’ve eaten there for lunch. The lines are always to long for dinner, so we order to go. I’ve eaten there at least 4x and it’s always been delicious and fresh.

Fantastic sushi restaurant! Very nice cuts and super fresh. Would definitely come back here if I lived closer. I hope they maintain this stellar quality. Service was a little disorganized, but overall they were friendly.

This place is tiny and humble looking on the outside and inside, but the food is amazing and fresh, and surprisingly they had a TV so we could watch the Warriors game! My boyfriend and I ordered the sashimi platter, which had plenty enough sashimi for both of us. The huge platter displayed all the assorted colorful sashimi nicely and it was all arranged neatly. Every piece of fish was extremely fresh and melt in your mouth soft and buttery. I don’t really know my fish that well, but of the ones I know, I loved the yellowtail, bass, and of course salmon. I appreciated the selection of fish too, because the flavor and color of each was slightly different. We also ordered the tempura fried ice cream and asked for green tea ice cream instead of vanilla, and it was so delicious! It was also a much more generous portion that what I had expected. The slightly sweet tempura batter was a good thickness and neatly wrapped up the yummy green tea ice cream inside. Also they slice it into 4 pieces so it’s easier to eat. The service was great, as they were attentive and patient while we ate for a very long time since we were watching the basketball game. If this weren’t so far away from home, I’d definitely come here more often.

Sushi: Really good, i go here at least once a week. The sushi tastes fresh. Always look at the board on the side to see if they have any specials, or something new they have gotten in. Services: Always quick and attentive to when I need. Note: The place is small, i try to go during off times. There are a good amount of people that go for lunch or dinner, and ive seen a good chunk of people waiting outside for a table, even in the rain.

Went for lunch last week. Nigiri was wonderful — the texture of the fish was such that you could actually bite through it without tugging and the whole thing falling apart. Fish was fresh and well seasoned. Proportion of fish to rice favored the fish. Prices for lunch specials are very reasonable. One negative was that the salad was way overly dressed. However this is a sushi place so that’s not going to put me off from giving five stars for the nigiri.

Okay, so first off. The previous reviews regarding staff are overstated. Simply put, Koreans are a little gruff and that’s their culture just get used to it okay? On to the important stuff, small area but sufficient unless your having a group of +6 Fish selection, 5 stars. I’ve been to literally hundreds of sushi places and this place gave me a first time I saw that moment. Aka Ebi-red shrimp. Never saw it, can’t comment as they were sold out. I ordered the small sashimi platter to myself(small lunch) big enough for 2 – 3 and it contained 8 – 9 kinds of fish. The usuals like maguro, Hamachi, saki but also contained some exotic varieties like kurodai and Kai(from japan) Great fish selection and worth a try for sure!

First time at this restaurant and it get crazy busy on a Saturday. We walked-in at 5pm and waited a few minutes to get seated. The restaurant is clean and service is okay. I ordered a 15 piece Sashimi and my family ordered the Super California Roll, WB Roll, Rainbow and Dragon roll. My fav was the WB, it was tasty and the tempura was crunchy.

I was debating between three and four stars… The food is amazing! If we’re going off just the food, easily five stars! The service is HORRIBLE though! If I was basing it on that, I would probably give them one or two, but the food makes up for it. The food: A great variety of sushi and rolls, the chefs clearly know what they’re doing, and they also have plenty of excellent non-seafood options. The service: I understand it’s small and there’s going to be a wait, that’s fine. But there will be several people waiting, and they make no effort to determine who was there first, can’t give an approximate wait time, and the servers often ignore you after they’ve delivered the main dish. The food is so good I’ll stick with the four stars, but if I was in a bad mood, I’d probably give them three…

Holy crud is this place busy. I love that they have take out. I am a huge shrimp fan. I got the dancing shrimp roll. Oh man is it good. I love how fresh it is and the detail the cooks put it in my container all pretty. My roll was done in less then ten minutes. I just wish it was bigger place

FRESH, tasty, fish! Ahh, I’ve been here a few times and I recommend it to my friends whenever they’re in town. Every time I leave here, I need to unbutton my pants to breathe haha. Service is great, everyone is super nice and friendly. They definitely have a great thing going on here! Alright I’m going to stop typing and you can look at the food pictures yourself!

Traveling 180 miles isn’t really my idea of fun and when you’re traveling that distance with a 1 year old it’s even more challenging!!! So when the little guy woke up at noon and indicated his hAngriness with his baby sign language gestures I immediately Unilocaled Japanese restaurants because his favorite meal is the chicken bento. Wasabi bistro was on the way and not too far from the freeway; it also said it was kid friendly so I made it our destination. I had high hopes for this establishment, especially with its 4.5 star rating! Unfortunately, it fell short of what I had in mind… Upon entering the restaurant my heart sank because it is a pretty tiny spot and it was packed. It’s a good thing my son doesn’t require a stroller(it would’ve been impossible to navigate it through this place) or be carried in a carseat(too bulky and I wouldn’t know where to set it down), otherwise we definitely would’ve had to leave and find another place. There was no other restaurants but a pizza place within walking distance so I decided to stay and try to be as careful as possible. It was really much too cramped to have a high chair(I wasn’t offered one anyway) so I sat with him on my lap. Thankfully there were no incidents! He was patient and wasn’t uncomfortable where he sat. Once he started fussing and refusing food we hightailed it out of there(or at least after we finally got the attention of the waitress and got our check we did). The service was ok, nothing really special or too friendly now that I think about it. And food was ok… The miso soup was super salty and the chicken was just ok. I don’t think I’d be back here with my toddler anytime… Maybe if I was on the road by myself or with another adult and wanted to try their sushi, I might.

4.5… Love this place. And love that there’s a 5 star(IMPO) sushi spot that’s less than 5 minutes from me! Everyone that works there is extremely nice. The only thing is that it’s a bit of a small place and if needed they kind of move their customer’s around(even in the middle of them eating) to make space if it starts to fill up. I don’t exactly know how I’d feel about that if they did that to me in the middle of me eating. Although being a waiting party at one point, it did make me happy. Maybe if they offered up a freebie dessert or simple roll to compensate it would be fine. But each time I come here, I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve eaten. Fresh and inexpensive! Here’s what to get and you can thank me after you’ve started to eat and stopped salivating. — Uni Sushi– $ 8 and fresh — Sashimi– I’ve had hamachi and tuna but the salmon also looked good — Yellowtail Roll — Any special roll you’re feening for– they don’t have an extensive special roll list but whatever you do get, it’s fresh Of course, add beer and hot sake. It’ll just be epic. You’re welcome! Wipe your chin ;)

Certainly a hidden gem in the East Bay. My boyfriend stumbled upon this place on Unilocal(we crave some good chirashi once in a while and that night was one of those nights). Decided to trek closeby to Livermore after work to feast on some food! PARKING: Strip mall, plenty of parking. It’s in the same location as a pizza place and a gym. When you finish working out, you wanna eat right? WAIT: This place is small! Hostess will try to seat you ASAP. There was«one» spot at the bar and hostess offered the seat there if we wanted to sit at the bar right away. We politely declined and saw another party of two seated before us — hostess made the other 3 individuals at the bar scoot on down to make room for the party of two. We waited about 30 mins to get a table(this was at 8/9pm!) FOOD: Plenty of options on the menu! My boyfriend ordered the chirashi and I decided to order something different — chirashi salad it is! I was craving some greens too. We also ordered a Dancing Spicy Tuna roll to share. WOW. That chirashi salad was HUGE! It was basically poke and seaweed salad over yummy tossed greens. Lots of sesame oil/dressing — super flavorful, but definitely more than enough for me to eat! Would def come back here to try some other menu items. Went home happy and full!

I don’t frequent Livermore, so excuse my uneducated notions; I didn’t think you could find good food in this area, let alone sushi. It also didn’t help that a place with 4.5 stars is in a strip mall next to Z-Pizza, so when we drove up we were quite wary of the high rating. And to be honest, the name Wasabi Bistro doesn’t reassure you either. The place is very small, and there was a significant line outside. Since our hearts were set on sushi, we decided to wait it out and see how good the food was. Short answer: pretty damn good! The Garlic Albacore Tataki was a knockout appetizer. With growing elation, we ordered three rolls because we couldn’t decide on just two. We looked like pigs to everyone in the restaurant(see photo, I’m sure you’ll agree). While they were all pretty good and had fresh fish, the Spicy Tuna Tataki was definitely the winner(my pick!). I’d be happy to visit Wasabi Bistro again if I’m passing through Livermore.
