My wife and I stopped by this store for the first and last time this afternoon! We do a lot of RVing and have visited these stores(along with Dollar General and Dollar Tree), from Orange, CA, to Medford, OR.; without a doubt, this is the dirtiest store, we have ever visited. The floors were in need of mopping and the store smelled… really badly! Walking by the fruit and vegetables was very disgusting; it was very obvious much of it needed to be thrown out. Unfortunately, my wife had to visit the ladies room and said it smelled like a portable toilet and she had to look for TP before using. I was a supervisor for most of my 50+ years working and will say, the store’s deplorable condition, is due to POOR Management. I give this store One Star, only because the Cashier was polite and I can’t give it a Zero! Don’t waste your time and money shopping here!

Prices of course are great for pick up of items and this location has some fresh fruits and vegetables. Unfortunately the store is kept pretty warm which in turn makes it a huge welcome mat for flies and pests in the produce area! I got bit by a gnat or something in the produce aisle on my hand a few times. The cashier was very pleasant and attentive, unfortunately you could tell the poor little lady was hot as well bc I noticed the sweat on her forehead. They have a great selection. The overall cleanliness of the store was extreme nice… Just one advice! Crank up the AC to make customers & employees comfortable. It will also help deter the flies and gnats!

I didn’t know that this was the 99.99 cents only store. See the photo of my receipt. They have good stuff, often in smaller than usual packages. Some are a bargain, and some are far too expensive. Some of the items are available in Dollar Tree, Dollar General, and Big Lots but they have some exceptions. Aisles were clear, for the most part, and shelves were reasonably well organized. The cashier was friendly, but I was surprised that my purchase came to $ 2.00 instead of $ 1.98 or $ 1.98 + tax.

This store is absolutely discusting. First of all when you enter, you are imedeatly engulfed with the aroma of human urine and crap! The floor is absolutely discusting, it probably hasn’t been mopped in months. The isles are over packed with merchandise. Prices are very fair! Although the conditions you must put up with are dispicable.

Palm Desert Store on Highway 111. I was in another 99 cents store yesterday, and I forgot to take my bag. I am in a different location, and the manager happened to be at the door, so I told him what happened. I wanted this black plastic wastebasket for .99 cents, that I forgot to take. I asked him to call the other store(thinking that he would just give it to me), and his answer to me: SORRY, THISWILLSCREWUPMYINVENTORY. So just go and grab one to pay, and he is standing there. I said to him: CAN I ATLEASTGIVEYOU $ 1.00 for this, so I can get out of the store quickly. He said yes, and I gave him my dollar and left the store. 1) How come he didn’t charge me tax? 2) I bet he pocketed the $ 1.00. Now, what about his inventory??? This is all for one dollar. I wanted that plastic, black wastebasket, as I can’t find a tiny one anywhere. Better to pay more and be treated better!!!

Good but the stuff you buy either breaks a couple days after you bought it or you to just play with it and it to fall? When I go there I usually get Lunchables or headphones. The thing is all the other stuff is junk.

Unfriendly and under-staffed. I always end up spending ~15 minutes only getting a few items.

I just left this store a few hours ago. I was taking a pic of the produce asking my bf what did he want to eat with his salad. Immediately an Indian girl with facial hair accosted me and since she was rude I matched her rudeness tone. I guess she didnt like it and brought out her potbellied manager. After that I began walking around to shop for additional things when I heard: Security please check cameras from all the aisles! I was insulted and angry. The cashier was not any better. Expecting a hello how are you or how was your day? I got neither. Instead she rang up my food items and said: 9 dollars. I paid that and didnt get a have a great day or anything. The service is rude and the management is rude. Some dude with a potbelly who looks like a tanned porky pig. I asked for his name. I am going to complain like the dickens about this piece of cows dung store!

My wife, who loves a bargain, swears by the 99 Cents Store versus Dollar Tree, primarily because of their more extensive inventory, especially food items. The atmosphere tends to be Little Tijuana, but, then, what can we expect in order to obtain low, low prices. It is not a retail establishment to linger while shopping. I just get in, get my merchandise, and get out. The cashiers are not overly friendly, but at least they are not rude, so, in general, I am satisfied…

Changed my rating to three stars because they do have pretty decent Produce! The rest still sucks though.

This particular 99 cent store smells exactly like you’d expect a 99 cent store to smell. Moth balls mixed with stale bread mixed with dirty people. You get what you pay for, and in this it isn’t a great smelling experience, nor is it customer service. Here is an outline of the interaction I had with the cashier. C(cashier) — 3 JD(Jarred D) — I’m sorry? C — 3 JD — 3??? Dollars? C — Yes JD — Oh ok, here you go. JD — Have a good one Now, it was 3. 3 dollars. With 3 dollars I bought a pack of delicious hot dog buns, a jar of sweet relish and a bag of spring field greens salad mix. You get what you pay for, and dinner was delicious, shopping was not.

I actually prefer the 99 cent stores to Dollar Tree. They have more food items with recognizable brand names. Beware though because some items aren’t actually cheaper here. Did you know that they sell produce?

Quandary: Some of the Patches, made by Dritz( ) have become«unglued» from the seat of my pants(literally)! Where in the environs of Lodi, CA am I going to get a Sewing Kit? When I was a Teen, I used to take my mom to all these Fabric and Sewing & Knitting Stores in Lodi… I couldn’t think of any that were left in Lodi, with some big Fabric /Craft stores in Stockton, CA. A lady I met recommended 99 Cents Only. Would have never thought of that for another week or so! Bought an Allary Home & Travel Travel Sewing Kit, of course, for $ 0.99 — Cheap looking. Looked like something that could be used for a Charity Drive… Can’t complain… It’s only 99 Cents! Now, I’ve got to re-learn how-to Sew! Ugghhh!
