Nixon Deli

I was looking for a sandwich shop open on a Sunday, and I found this little gem. I was the only customer at the time and had a chance to chat with the owner, Kim. She was very friendly and helpful; maneuvering me through the different options on the extensive sandwich menu. She made my sandwiches exactly as ordered and even put my pickles on the side in a to-​go container. My total for my two delicious sandwiches came to just under $ 18.

Great sandwich and service ! So hard to find a sandwich shop in Lodi that is ever open ! This place is open 7 days a week 9 – 6 so I can easily grab a sandwich after work.

Crave these sandwiches often! So much good and i love supporting a local business owner!

We love coming here to eat! Food is good and always fresh, lots of variety. The owner is wonderful and always remembers what we want to order. They also have gluten free options too. More people to find out about this place!!!

Great little hole-​in-​wall type deli. I had the Tokay Tiger hot chicken, bacon, cheese, avocado sandwich, and will probably have it again next time, yum. The owner’s cute little dog «Roadie» kept us company outside. A great experience all round.

Nixon’s is on the west end of the shopping center at Kettleman and Fairmont. The shop faces Fairmont.
I used two expired
certificates. Each was minimum purchase of $ 10 less the $ 5 value of the certificate. I certainly feel with the discount I received my money’s worth.
I ordered the #2 hot pastrami (hot pastrami, bacon, cream cheese and avacado) and a #10 bbq beef (hot roast beef with bbq sauce and cheese). I needed to add one side to each order to meet the $ 10 requirement.
I asked about the potato salad. I love potato salad but we all know that there is
good and bad, as in home-​made and ‘comes in a 5-​gallon bucket’. I found out that
their potato salad is made in house and is one of their best sellers. I was not disappointed. I loved it. Had lots of great ingredients including red potatoes cooked just right, olives, onions, eggs and pickles. I saved one sandwich for another meal but I just had to eat both potato salads. It was that good!
I ordered both sandwiches on dutch crunch rolls. The rolls were larger than I expected, making for quite large sandwichs. The pastrami sandwich was yummy.
The combination of ingredients blended well together… especially with the bacon!
Overall, I was not sure what to expect from Nixons. They have a solid 4-​star review rating but one thing I saw a couple of times was that the sandwiches made from sliced bread were on the small side. I cannot speak to that since I had the dutch crunch rolls.
My experience at Nixons was better than I expected.

This is my new favorite sandwich shop. The hot pastrami sandwich is SO good. The macaroni salad tastes like I made it at home. They have an extensive drink assortment too. The customer service is excellent. The first time I came in the young man behind the counter patiently explained the menu.

Walked in, attendant was on phone, not even acknowledging me, picked up a paper menu, attendant wouldn’t even look up. Waited about 5 minutes, walked out disappointed. I’d rather go to Safeway and get a sandwich, at least I’d get acknowledged and save money without having to feel bad for the dog outside (though I’m a dog lover and owner, I would never leave my dog in a facet {occasionally in the green jeep} as they do).

Love their food, very tasty. Lots of options. For the person who said that their sandwiches are too small, you really just have to look at the options. There are so many options from smaller breads to more custom homemade breads that have thicker slices. The owner is always very accommodating and lets you choose all the many items very carefully so your sandwich is just perfect. She’s even great at making an order when they’re closing and staying over a little bit late just so you can get your sandwich. I have never had anything but an excellent experience at this deli. My daughter loves this place also.

Family owned and run, I am almost full up on my frequent buyer’s card. My personal favorites here are anything on the Dutch Crunch roll. I have them serve me half to eat there, and wrap the other half to go. Owner and staff are friendly yet efficient and all ingredients are fresh. Place is clean clean clean.
Your first time there make sure you have them go through the ingredients list when they ask «do you want everything?», as the list is surprisingly extensive and may include things you don’t expect.
Only 4 stars because of the odd location and dark entrance. The owner’s dog hangs out outside, giving him a treat on my way out makes my day.

Nixon Deli was a place I found on a whim since we were coming out towards Lodi and needed a place to get lunch. I searched gluten free near Lodi and they showed up and had great reviews when it comes to cross contamination.
We pulled up to the deli and honestly thought it was closed since it was so dark inside. We decided to walk up anyways and the door was unlocked so they were open. There was one lady working the whole place since they are a small family running it. After she finished the order for the man in front of us. She explained that they do have a completely separate area to make gluten free sandwiches and as far as my dairy allergy goes they put cheese on last so the vegetables are not cross contaminated with the employee touching the cheese then all the vegetables. They offered many different gluten free bread options by Udi’s. I decided to get the BLT on Udi’s white bread and added cranberry sauce for .75 cents.
After we paid she brought us over both of our sodas and then proceeded to make our sandwiches. They were brought out and mine was on the super tiny bread that Udi’s sells to the grocery stores. I was really hoping they got the commercial bread from Udi’s so that the slices would be bigger, but nope. If you look at my picture it was so tiny!!! That means I get way less meat than the average sandwich and she smeared the thinnest layer of cranberry sauce on there, I just felt so ripped off. I would rather have paid extra for gluten free bread and have it be bigger so I get a fair amount of all the food! It was so ridiculous. I am actually giving them two stars, because of the separate area for gluten free sandwiches. Everything else was very disappointing.

The hot pastrami and club, with «the works» were fantastic. The quality of the products used are excellent, and the passion with which the sandwiches were made, was icing on the cake.
Also, Rodie, the dog, was a nice touch.

So far we have been to Nixon’s twice, the first time we split a sandwich and it was soooo good, today when my husband suggested it for lunch I told him he needed to order 2 full sandwiches (I wasn’t sharing) … Nixon Deli has the most delicious and soft sweet rolls… Their ingredients are so fresh and veggies are crisp. We thoroughly enjoy Dixon’s and look forward to our next sandwich!

I have not had anything but fresh, delish, and extremely safe gluten free food. I had no idea that this wonderful gem was within walking distance of my home. In the first week I must have been there 3 times. This amazing family is dedicated to 2 things wonderful food and they are the only place in town that truly understands what gluten free means and safely delivers great food to all.

Love this place. Only drawback… there is only one person working at a time. So if you get there with a few people in front of you, it may be a wait. That’s the only thing I can find wrong and even it’s a stretch since you just have to happen to get there at a busy time.

I ordered a bulk order a day in advance of a meeting I was putting together and without access to the menu, Kim (I believe she is the owner) talked me through the order over the phone. She was very nice and accommodated many of my dietary restrictions. They have a gluten free menu and an option for LETTUCE WRAPS for all of their sandwiches as well.
The morning of my pick up, I changed my order about an hour and a half before my pickup time with no problems. Kim’s son, Jeremy assisted me when I arrived and I was in and out. I even arrived about 10 minutes before my scheduled pick up time and my order was already ready to go.
My clients were very happy with all the food I brought and they all asked where I got the sandwiches. Nixon’s Deli was fast, courtesy, and delicious!

Everything is always fresh and crisp! I’ve been here at least thirty times. Never disappointed! They also have many gluten free options! :-)

Had the pastrami with cranberry sauce YUM. I’ll be back. Nice family owned shop ill gladly support.

OMG!!! One of the best sandwiches EVER! Turkey, bacon, avocado, tomato, crème cheese with that HOMEMADE garlic sauce. Get the Dutch crunch bread. Everything is homemade and they offer a gluten free menu. Owner is awesome!!!

Finally got a chance to try out this little sandwich shop hidden in the back of a nondescript shopping center. Blink and you’ll miss it as you’re driving down Fairmont off of Kettleman.
Great variety of sandwiches on the menu. Generous portions, fresh breads, and awesome potato salad. They offer gluten free bread or get your sandwich done as a lettuce wrap if you’re watching your carbs too. If you order ahead, they can even apparently make a gluten free pasta salad for you.
I’ll definitely be back to try more.
