I’m sitting here 7am thinking about the White Castle I ate yesterday :) Growing up in Dallas I never had White Castle before. It totally met my expectations of he cute fast food joint praised in Harold and Kumar. Supposedly it’s drunk ppl food but I thoroughly enjoyed it sober! I especially liked the fried filet fish one with cheese. They r just so cute, decently priced, and easy to eat. Until next time– I’ll be thinking about you

We got to the drive thru and order 3 chicken n waffle sandwiches with some WAFFLEFRIES. I pull up to the window to pay and after after I pay they tell me WEDONTHAVEANYGRAVY. I said«you’re out of gravy?!?» How am I gonna eat chicken and waffles with no gravy? I told them forget about it i don’t want it anymore. They give it to me with a Dr Pepper to drink or something AND they gave me my money back BUTTHEYAINTGIVEMEMYWAFFLEFRIES.

What more can be said about White Castle? As a teen growing up in Chicago I had hundreds of their burgers. They have not changed and I like them, probably the plain more than the cheeseburger. Compared to other burger chain, I actually also prefer their fries and think their onion rings are about the best going. Prices are higher than when I was a teen, but still reasonable. This white Castle was also nice and clean. I have tried other items on menu and not as good, but if you want a four pack of sliders there is no place better.

I am not sure if this stuff is actually beef but whatever I ate it and it tasted pretty good. Pretty sure I lost more weight then the calories I ingested. I got pretty bloated and gassy and my toilet was my best friend. This place fills me up with more gas then a flying Js that offers super diesel

Rude drive through attendant gave us an attitude. The food was not that good. And the wait was forever. The drive thru line took so long. Whats the point of a drive thru if the drive thru takes longer than going inside and ordering. Wont be coming back. If I remember correctly, the drive thru person didnt even say anything when we drove off. He didnt even say thank you. And we didnt get any sauces at ALL. Just plain bun and patty. Not even ketchup

Had not had White Castle in years and my wife and I needed a late night stop when most stuff was closed. So, enter WC. We got 6 sliders and fries, which came up pretty quick. The sliders were fine — nothing special, nothing bad. Same with the fries — I love crinkle fries, but these were only«fine». The people here are nice. The restaurant is clean enough… it’s not spotless, but it’s not disgusting. I won’t rush back, but I won’t avoid.

My mother has childhood memories of this place, so no visit to Chicago is complete without stopping. I am just over the novelty of it. Sliders are common place there days & these just don’t impress me any more. My mother on the other hand just does not get out much, so to her they were good.

My hubby and I walked in here. There was a couple waiting for their food at the tables. There was no one in the drive thru. There were about 4 employees we could see behind the counter. Ten minutes passed until they finally took our order. 1 of the employees went up to the register after 5 min and said hi to us. We were about to order but he didn’t ask us what we wanted. Instead, he clocked out on his lunch break… Really? You couldn’t put in one more quick order? We have no idea what they were doing back there since there were no other customers but it should not have taken that long. I was ready to leave. Anyway we got a medium banana chocolate milk shake(delicious but note the medium is huge, next time we would share a small), cheeseburger slider(yum), 2 pizza burgers(interesting but good! There is a slice of pepperoni and mozzarella cheese in it) and a western bbq burger(hubby said meh). Also, their parking lot is really annoying to get in and out of.

Went through the drive through on a friday afternoon — no wait. Ordered the original sliders, jalapeño with cheese sliders and western bbq chicken sliders. All were really really good. When we pulled up to the window, we did end up waiting for awhile to get our food but Demetrius apologized for the wait and took care of us with waters and two extra original sliders. Great service even through a drive through!

White Castle might actually be cool if there was like just one of them. In Dupage County they are like all over pretty saturated but how bad this one has been a couple times compared to the other warrants a review. It takes forever to get the food and it often tastes bad compared to the usual taste of what you wold normally get from Castle. I really think they are more concerned with drive thru customers they forget the ones that stumble in to relax their muscles in this crappie Castle. Better off driving to next exoburb if having the craving.

When you have a craving for some delicious sliders with steamed onions and crisp dill pickles, look no farther than White Castle. This Castle is always clean when I visit. The bathrooms have also always been clean and stocked. The staff seems to have a sense of urgency for the most part with a few times being an exception. The one complaint that I have about this location is that they do not have a place to go to get your condiments and napkins. There is a short stack of napkins and a little shady dish of assorted sauce packets by the register, but I would really like something more legitimate. My on other complaint about the location that really has nothing to do with the establishment itself is the parking lot and the access back to Roosevelt. You can only turn right onto Rt. 38 and Main St., so trying to get back out going east on Rt 38 is a nuisance.

I crave the greasy yumminess of White Castle. I tell anyone who is willing to listen about its greasy goodness. On my latest visit to Chicagoland, I tell my husband he HAS to go here just to experience it. How can you explain to someone that they need to try this *thing* they call a burger, when you’re not even sure there’s meat in it? Now we are running out of time. When can we just go swing by? It’s not like we are going on any road trip to go grab a dozen, so I’m starting to get nervous. One night we order a pizza and we were planning on going to dad’s for a nice evening in. I call my dad to let him know I ordered the pizza and we will be at his place in less than an hour. Me; «Hi dad, we ordered the pizza, so we’ll be at your place in about 50 minutes.» Dad; «Oh honey, I’m starving … could you do your father a favor?»(For some reason my dad always addresses himself in the third person) «Could you go swing by White Castle and get your father FOUR double jalapeño burgers so he can have a snack before you go get the pizza?» Me; «OK dad, see you in a few minutes.» My husband’s jaw drops. He really thought I was kidding. Next minute we are in the drive thru, and he looks like I just told him I ran over the family dog or something. I order the jalapeño burgers, and two classic. Husband; «Why are we getting 2 extra burgers?» Me; «So we can have one also!» Husband; «I still can’t believe we are buying hamburgers before we go pick up a deep dish pizza!» I take my tiny little burger out of that white box and admire the sheen of the oil on the bun. Me; «Look at that greasy goodness!» Husband; «Why is the bun shiny? Is that oil?» We are driving to my dads in silence while we are consuming our little delights. I can’t wipe the smile off of my face. Husband; «Oh my god, that was so f***ing good! Me; «I know!» Husband; «And they’re open 24 hours!!!» Next time we hit up Chicagoland, we’ll go inside — so my husband can marvel at the sight of the cold white interior.

I used to eat at this place when I worked down the road at a health club. That’s hilarious, right? Anyway, it’s your standard White Castle(next to the kids place, Enchanted Castle which may or may not be coincidental). I’ve had the burgers(onions!), chicken rings, and fries. All really great. My favorites are the Original and Cheeseburger. KISS principle, baby!

Now I know how Harold & Kumar felt. We got out of the movies after 11 pm, hungry and in search of a White Castle! The first 2 we went to were closed… not good. Then we found this one! It was open 24 hours. We conquered the raining thunder storm and the 10 mile plus trek… well 2,100 miles if you count our trip from California to get here! I like the sliders, but the experience is priceless!

For those that have not experienced the double cheese burgers at 4−5−6−7 in the morning, you’ll never get why we love them so much. If you’re not really from the mid-west you won’t understand either. Ketchup? Mayo? in and out burgers better? you are soooo mistaken. I now live in Phoenix and although I prefer in and out vs. McDonalds, white castle is #1!

I wanted know what the hype was all about so my first White Castle experience was a good one. I had no idea what to expect and/or what to order so I ordered quite a few to taste all the different types: original slider cheeseburger slider jalapeño slider A1 slider I didn’t know the original and cheeseburger doesn’t include katchup! The beef patties are not what I expected but still tasty. The jalapeño was the best… the most flavor and not as bland and the A1 was also tasty. Overall, all the sliders were good but it doesn’t compare to In-n-Out!

Oh White Castle how I love thee. You comforted me in sickness and in health, while sober and while highly inebriated. Til death do us part. Quoth the convenient location, ‘Nevermore!’ The nearest slider house is now over 200 miles away, bringing sadness to my belly and relief to my arteries. I vow to see you again soon. P. S. I even liked those silly Harold & Kumar movies… such is my devotion to you. :)

Being from the west coast, this was my first time dining at White Castle. The experience is more akin to eating at McDonalds than at In-n-Out. The sliders were great, but nothing I’d crave for except maybe for late night munchies. We tried 4 different flavors of sliders(Pulled Pork, Bacon Cheese, Jalapeño Cheese, Fish), and only liked the latter two flavors. The highlight would probably be the bread they used, and those neat little boxes the sliders came in(minus the Pulled Pork, which came wrapped). Not disappointing, but definitely nothing worth raving about.

Do we really need a review of White Castle? Do we really need to hear about a late night craving? Do we really need to read another description of the hot greasy square mini burger that is a Slider? Sure, why not. Sliders satisfy that craving that sometimes creep up after a night of booze. Maybe it’s the starch of the bun, the grease of the patty or the little pickle in the burger that helps soak up the booze and just adds to that feeling of satisfaction. The Elite Winterscape Event in Chicago, as fun as it was(and the provider of free booze!) left me feeling a little hungry. Soooooo, a long drive towards home(dropped little bro at his place and then my friend at her place in Lombard) I saw that bright shining white building that is White Castle and thought, why the heck not. These mini burgers are certainly not gourmet, but they’re cheap, hot and consistent(insert dirty joke here). You either love ‘em or hate ‘em, but for me, Sliders always seem to be the best late at night. Fries: kinda soggy. Drinks: many choices between Coke to Fanta(but always cold). Drive Thru Service: fast and perfunctory.

WTF. I’m SO disappointed! Ok — so I’m from the West Coast and the closest I get to White Castle is a frozen, store-bought burger or a DVD rental. I can’t decide which is less appetizing. Being from CA, home of the amazing In N’ Out Burger, places like Sonic Drive-Ins, White Castle, and Steak n’ Shakes are nowhere to be found. I needed to eat a slider from White Castle when I went to Chicago on business. In fact, I went out of my way to do so! Like a nerdy tourist I took photos of the exterior of the building. My anticipation was increasing as I entered the the little castle-shaped box that from the inside looked just like any other fast-food joint. I was super hyped because the night before getting to Chicago the Food Network did a special on White Castle. I don’t think I could have been more excited! I order my food, the service was excellent and the woman that took my order was way too kind. So far so good. I troll around the room while I wait for my slider meal and notice that they have 4 types of sauces… NONE of which are ketchup. Now, I’m not one of those people that puts ketchup on everything. in fact, I don’t even have ketchup in my fridge at home! But when you order a plain burger(I was told by a Chicagoan NOT to get the cheeseburgers) you should expect to get some ketchup with your order. Instead they had spicy mustard, hot sauce, mayonnaise, and tartar sauce. I snag one packet of each. As I said earlier. I was directed to get the regular sliders and skip out on the fries and order the onion rings. I do as directed to ensure that my experience at White Castle is the best it can be. I drive all the way back to my hotel and manage to keep my hands out of the food bag until I get to my room. I clear a spot on the desk in my hotel room and dump out my sauce packets. I try one burger per packet. In fact, upon pulling the burgers out of their boxes I almost gasped because the meat is SO gray it looked fake. I dump some sauce on there and cram it in my mouth. Here’s the reaction I had: «really???» It wasn’t bad. but it certainly wasn’t good. Not with mayo, not with mustard, not with tartar and not with hot sauce. The burgers were SO bland. The onion rings were the same. Not the best or the worst. just onion rings. I mapquested a White Castle in IL and drove to one because I’d heard about people eating 10 – 20 of them in one sitting. How is that possible? If I were offered even 2 burgers for free the next time I’m in the Midwest, I’d pass them up. They’re just so bland and so disappointing. I guess the running joke is that you have to be stoned out of your mind like Harold and Kumar to actually want to eat them. I’m still glad I went. but next time I’m hitting up a Steak n’ Shake!
