Gas. It does your car’s engine good.
When I drove through Lompoc, this gas station always seemed to be among the most inexpensive ones.
Bonus info: Lompoc is a bit in the middle of nowhere, yet right at the old Highway 1. If you have time to spare and don’t want to go up 101 — bleh! — or 5 — yawn! — from Los Angeles to the Bay Area, take the 1 and see a potentially new face of California.
Oh, and the ocean, too. Just pray that the good people in front of you use the turnout stops along the road through Big Sur.
