While I do enjoy the food here, I feel the portions are pretty small, they are pretty stingy with the meat. While I do enjoy their fish, its made to order and takes a bit so I usually go with the al pastor bowl with all the toppings which were fresh, love their salsas as well. The burritos and tacos are pretty small compared to most other places, while we did enjoy the food I felt the value was not quite there. Also not a huge fan of the service here. Décor and vibe is fine, not too full so there was plenty of seating. Ok but not worth rushing back for.

POOR service, specifically some guy named Dakota. He wasn’t a manager, apparently manager doesn’t work on weekends. We came here around closing, didn’t know, but hey they gave no type of warning as to closing time on the dining area specifically. They were pretty rude overall from ordering the food to asking for some condiments or even an even portion of meat on each taco. Bad service all around. The guy literally told all the customers that had just sat down for a cool minute that they had 5 minutes and were kicking you guys out. My last time there.

I want to say I like this place because of its unique name with the high hopes of chronically addicting food to be exact. As I kept thinking, scratching and sniffing, and growing old, sorry… think not. The name doesn’t live up to its standards. After having a major craving for tacos in Long Beach that day, I found this place via Unilocal… of course. I already saw three stars indicating that this was an average place, but was still good. So I drove over with another Unilocal buddy who lives close by for a quick lunch before I head back to the office for another meeting with a client. First of all, I just felt the person taking the order and also prepped my food didn’t really care about getting my business. Yes, he was helping another person when I got there, so it wasn’t big deal for me… just a reflective thought. I was hungry and more focused on eating the chronic tacos. Secondly, my tortillas was barely heated. And I meant barely because after my tacos and burrito was prepared, my tortillas was already cold when I sat down. Thirdly, I felt that the need to give larger proportions. My Carne Asada burrito barely had meat in it. If it wasn’t for the beans, lettuce, and tomatoes, I would have bitten into an empty flower tortilla. I totally felt I was skimped out. I wanted to say something about that, but I stayed quiet instead to not cause problems. My Al Pastor tacos was a little better. At least there was more meat. But, there was also lots of pieces of pure fat where it should have been thrown out while they were dicing and marinating the meat. The tacos was also served with your choice of toppings in the service table area. I again choose lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheese, and a sprinkle onions. They had guacamole too. But will charge an additional $ 1.49 for it. I didn’t think it was worth it. But art least a got a scoop for my burrito. I order tacos at around $ 2.00 each and my small burrito at about $ 5.00. The large burritos are obviously more expensive. But purposely order the small to try just to be safe. And I now I think I made the right choice. The Carne Asada and Al Pastor meat was just average. It wasn’t too flavorful. I have tried better elsewhere. I was more disappointed on them skimping out on me. Again, they need to heat the tortillas longer and serve less pieces of fat. Unfortunately, I’ll only give two stars. The tacos and burritos does not live up to its name. Sorry, an improvement is greatly needed. Good luck!

The service at this location is /was HORRIBLE!!! Cashier by the name of Dakota needs customer training 101 class all over again, also preparing food, counting change(he claimed he did realize I gave him a $ 50.00 bill… he said he thought it was a $ 20.00) REALLY. Sounds like to me he was gong to pocket $ 40.00 for himself. Oh, did I fail to mention how to speak to customers. NEVEREVER, EVER, EVERAGAIN!!! He needs to be pulled completely off the registers! FYI: now eating at «Café Rio Mexican Grill» the food was delicious and fresh also GREAT service.(Location on Lakewood Blvd.).

At my last visit, we arrived 10 mins before closing, the guy helping us didn’t seem thrilled we arrived so close to the end of the night. I have no idea of his name but his attitude was not appreciated by my wife but I hung in there. We won’t be back.

The 3 star isn’t for the customer service(it wasnt terrible) its more so for the simple fact of guava being watered down and horrible! And the fact that the cooks are also the cashiers, lol. What?!? I dont get it. Id heard chronic tacos had new owners. I was expecting change but not to this degree. I guess the integrity is worth saving a few bucks.

Of all the local Chronics I’ve been to this particular one has the freshest food, the friendliest staff and the biggest portions! A taco with rice, beans, chips and a soda for 6 bucks!

In short, I MISSTHEOLDSTAFF. I have been coming here for years but more recently I stopped coming due to money and eating at home more often. Coming back, the entire staff had been changed. The service was horrible. I was the only one in line and after about 4 employees walked by me, one finally came over and started my order. I almost wanted to say to them«don’t all jump at once» Upon starting my order, the guy helping me didn’t even have a friendly approach. Merely started with«what can I get you?» Then I ordered a burrito and the portions he put down were skimpy. Skimpy is actually an understatement. I almost told the kid that he could do better than that. After finishing the innards of my burrito I then realized I was not even going to be full off of that so I ordered some tacos on the side to help. Upon arriving at the register, my total came out to 16 dollars. Probably the worst 16 I’ve ever spent. In high school, I worked at subway for two years so I understand what it’s like to work in assembly line service. Because of that reason I am usually very generous with tips, this time around, I left a big goose egg which took a lot. They need new staff and people who are actually somewhat excited to work or at least friendly. Next time, I will either go to the neighborhood chipotle or make the trip and go to a different location.

I hate to leave a review like this because I do not like to contribute to an employee being fired but this was hands down the worst experience Ive ever had. I was having a great day walked into this chronic tacos and saw the cook and asked him to fire up some veggies for my veggie burritos he literally threw the veggies next to a pile of raw red meat and some of the veggies were even touching it. So when the clerk came over to ask me what I was getting I told him I don’t eat red meat and It grosses me out that the veggies are all over the meat and could they please make some more. He walks over to the grill and grabs some Tongs and starts picking them off the grill and put them in a pan to sauté I didn’t feel like being a headache so I let it slide. After the rice and beans were put on the burrito he asks what other sides I would like I nicely told him I would like pico de gallo and then I told him onion and he looked at me funny and said there are already onions in the pico de gallo. So I told him yeah I know I want extra onion? After that awkwardness to top it off the guacamole was completely empty the only thing that was left was dried brown guac on the sides of the container so I asked if he could please give me some fresh guac he then tells me this is fresh we made it today. I told him I wanted a fresh one again and he goes«your special» At this point my blood was boiling and I damn near walked out of the place without paying for the burritos but I believe in karma and figured that wouldn’t be the right thing to do even though my vegetables could be potentially CROSSCONTAMINATED. I work in the service industry and let me tell you the best thing you can do is say YES smile and be HAPPY! He would have gotten a tip from me but this happened. Whoever owns this place needs to get some staff here that actually enjoys working and are happy with what they do! Looks like next time I want a burrito I’ll go to chipotle where I’m greeted with a smile and a hi how are you doing today!

I’ve enjoyed this place for the toppings and generous portions. Unfortunately I’ve been let down by the recent lack of quality control at this location. I came here for dinner last night and received three half filled carne asada tacos with a sprinkle of cheese and lettuce. I was literally able to wrap these tacos into taquito sized rollups. On this evening the workers appeared clueless when hit by a rush of customers. After spending close to 20 bucks on my meal, I had to drive across the street to Wendys to fill up. I’m hoping this was an indication of poor employee training rather than a company change in portion sizes.

This review is specifically for today’s visit. I’m used to coming here and getting a good serving of asada meat when I order tacos. Today’s crew was very light on the meat serving, along with all the topings. After spending $ 16 here, I had to go somewhere else to get more food because I wasn’t full! Not on a good track with spots like Chipotle around the area… won’t be back to this location.

Worst location ever! Don’t come here people!!! Food is not fresh, the rice and beans are dry. Service is horrible, they are greedy with the food and if you ask for more they give you attitude and charge you. Burritos at taco bell are bigger than this and a lot cheaper. Even Churros was horrible, tasted like they were made in fish grease. Will never again spend my money at Chronic Taco!

I walked in a did not know how how ordering food worked. The guy working did not readily help me out and instead just gave me a weird look. He then rushed through telling me how ordering works. He seemed to be annoyed at me for taking longer than expected due to me not knowing the menu. I ordered a carne asada burrito and it was good. The problem was the guy was in a rush to finish my order and again he seemed annoyed, so that my burrito wasn’t wrapped properly. It fell apart and became messy. Also, the guy openly spoke about how he hated working for Chronic Taco. He said that he was not paid for some hours, that the managers don’t care, and that he is looking to quit this job. I was right there and heard everything. It seemed like he did not want to be there. I have been to Chronic Taco one time before and my experience was totally different. However, this location seemed like a bad representation of what Chronic Taco stands for.

Love to come here for my burrito fix! The handheld burrito is the perfect size to satisfy my carnita craving perfectly! Chips are always light and crispy and all the salsas are flavorful and a great addition to every dish. Now, if your willing to throw the diet out for a night the Chronic fries with all the fixings taste so good they are worth a little guilt. Don’t get me started on the limitless choices of their fancy soda machine! This is certainly one of my favorite go to places. Yum!!!

The fast and friendly service is worthy of 5 stars. Once I entered the restaurant, I was greeted and helped immediately. The food seemed to be freshly prepared and there was a variety of meal options and a host of toppings. I really enjoyed my kids bean and cheese burrito and my carne asada taco. Altogether the meal was decent land is probably try it again if I was in the area. However it wasn’t the best place for Mexican food. So if you want something better than the typical drive-thru food, go here. Enjoy.

Love love love the shrimp tacos baja style! They tame a little bit extar time to cook but are well worth the wait! I order them on corn tortillas and the end result is delicious! They also dont taste greasy or oily so they arent heavy. The ingredients for the topings so far have been fresh and delicious but the sides could use a little bit better flavoring. The service is pretty good, friendly but not fake. They are fast too so you dont wait very long even if there are a lot of people waiting. Overall, id say a good place to come eat lunch.

I loooooove chronic tacos, every time my brothers come visit me in long beach, we come to chronic tacos. The manager is the most friendliest man you’ll ever meet and he totally makes u feel welcomed and like ur family. Bc of him is why we choose this location. The food is kinda pricey but so worth it. I love the tacos and tortas My brothers love the carne asada fries, and the tacos of course. They love the name of the restaurant too. The house sauce is way too bomb too.
