My husband and I stopped by here on a whim(we couldn’t figure out where to eat!) we drive by here practically every day. We were able to park in their lot(which is small– but it’s summer and school is out so there aren’t as many people around). We were greeted as soon as we arrived by a nice waitress who also turned out to be our waitress. She was very attentive and friendly the entire time. I ordered an horchata which was the best I’ve had outside of Mexico– very cinnamon-y! I ordered a bean and cheese burrito which was pretty good. My husband liked the California burrito he ordered. The atmosphere was modern and«bar-like» but the music was really loud and there weren’t even that many people in there, so it definitely wasn’t the noise of the people. All in all, it was a good experience and we would go again.

Jeannett was our server and she had a great personality! She was amazing, the best service I’ve had in a long time ;) The food was good, but I wish the asada was more fresh. Great tacos!

I must say I was quite disappointed in my latest visit. Mind you my last visit was a few months ago and I had raved about the hearty portions. I ordered the same dish and it had less than half the meat as my previous meal. I was actually still hungry leaving! The service still remains to be their achilles heal. Not much to expect from a bunch of sorority girls from the University next door. BUT I must say the busboy that came by and refilled our chips and salsa was far more attentive and helpful than our waitress! Hire him as a server and you’ll see your reviews sky rocket guaranteed. When I come in I dread to think which«spice girl» is going to serve us. Go into Marris restaurant down the street and you’ll see servers that take pride in their job. I’m willing to give this place one more try, my patience is wearing thin though.

Rather dopey servers who look like they really don’t want to be there. However, the food was excellent. Their chicken tortilla soup is the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve had many. The puffy tacos were fantastic, although the shell is a tad greasy… to be expected. Not cheap, but not too pricy. The kitchen is rocking.

We came here to help celebrate our close friends Birthday, we had a large group and Taco Beaches service was nothing but excellent!!! Service was attentive and food was very tasty… We will definitely return… We found the prices very competitive to other Mexican Restaurants in the area. The ambience was casual and mellow, with lots of seating, and plenty of T. V’s to watch your favorite teams.

Went here cause I was in the mood for tacos however; I did not feel up to driving down to 2nd street to Taco Surf. Overall this was a good experience. The restaurant has good service, we were greeting and seating upon entering the establishment which was nice. The menu had a great selection and everything seemed so tasty. I ended up ordering a burrito. It took about 15 minutes from the time I ordered to the time I received my food, which was not bad due to the fact they give you chips and salsa which wasn’t bad — I have had better but these were not bad. The salsa is a little to thin, I prefer thicker/chunky. Overall the quality and quantity of the food I received was well worth the money. The burrito tasted good and I would order it again however not my number one favorite ever. I would definitely return to try more if Second street is busy and detours me from 2nd st. Taco Surf.

Our waitress was incompetent at best. Ordered a double Hefe margarita without salt, came with salt. They brought one without pretty sure they just poured from the salted cup to another, it was salty tasting still and very watery. How do you mess up a margarita?! My son ordered a bean/cheese burrito with fries and ranch and she brought a quesadilla with fries and no ranch. The enchilada with beef was greasy ground beef that resembled animal food, dark dry crumbs yet somehow saturated in pools of bright orange grease. The beans were flavorless(lard and salt please omg). Also the orange soda doesn’t taste like fanta I swear they add some weird syrup it was on the outside of the lid on cup they brought my son. It was thick and sticky on the outside and tasted gross like tang!!! Our server didn’t communicate or apologize for bringing any wrong items and actually looked a bit gape mouthed and confused when it was pointed out. Usually the service makes up for the lackluster wishes it was Mexican gringo food but tonight was a total miss!!!

I really enjoy the carne Asada plate, the salsa and chips and the horchata. It is a bit over priced but the food is good and the atmosphere is pretty chill. The tacos are good too. They don’t compare to the«authentic» Mexican tacos(the ones from Mexico). But I totally enjoy eating here. The restaurant is clean. The restrooms are always clean(at least every time I’ve been). The staff is nice and friendly. The service is fast. I live really close to here. So one day we just decided to go in and check it out. Also, we watched a couple of the women’s World Cup games here. It’s not a sports bar but the ambiance is perfect to watch the games!

Not impressed and I’ve had better tacos for a lot less. I had such high hopes, I ordered the carne asada dinner and my husband had the California burrito. The asada lacked flavor and the sides was just disappointing. I didn’t even bother finishing my meal. I gave it an 2 stars for nice waitress who helped me and for the speedy service.

So glad to have this place in our neighborhood! A full bar is welcome. The food is delicious and the menu has a lot to offer. Great place for kids, too! We have been enjoying the happy hour offerings. The prices are good and the happy hour options are nice. This helps us to be able to come more often!

Taco Beach had become my unintentional«go to» place. The tacos, fajitas, and most recently the Mexican Mess breakfast plate. Everything has been amazing. Staff is friendly and attentive. Did I mention how great the food is?

I am not too sure what to think about this place. They have a large bar, lots of seating, patio, I like the layout. The food is pretty good(Chips & Salsa are delicious), though I’ve had way better fish tacos at Long Beach Fish Grill. The service is what gets me every time! The ladies are nice enough, but not very attentive and possibly have dyslexia. The first time we went there we waited almost 20 minutes to order, we had eaten our entire basket of chips while we waited for our server to return. Then my order came out wrong, so we had to wait again for the corrected order. If I remember correctly she discounted it on our bill which I appreciated but I prefer better service in lieu of being inconvenienced. We came back last week, and the service was a bit better though she didn’t come back till the end of the meal to refill our drinks. She also put in one of our orders incorrectly, even though when she repeated our order it was correct. So when everything came out, we had to send the one plate back, again they comped that meal. Hopefully the service gets better, I can’t see them staying in business long if they always have to comp people’s orders.

Visited this place for Taco Tuesday! It seemed like a cool joint. Lots of tvs, draft beers and of course, tacos! The waitress was very helpful with suggestions on drinks and tacos. I had the street tacos and they were stuffed with meat, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. The salsa is really good to add to the tacos. Honestly, the tacos were alright. nothing special but the ambiance is really good for people that want a drink and catch a game. All is all, I saw alright.

Taco Beach is worthy of four stars for the ambience alone. It’s got a spacious layout with a full bar, community bar tables, booths and tables. There are lots of television so you can catch whatever game you’re into. There is enough room for groups and large families too. They have good craft brews on tap, not just the standard Mexican loggers! The margaritas are pretty good too. The food is generally good depending upon what you get. Somethings are great, like the enchilada habaneros and the fish tacos. Their salsa is really good, and you can ask for the tomatillo sauce if you like it extra spicy. The service is usually very friendly and very helpful. Some of the young girls can be a little biti’m attentive, but for the most part there is very nice people working here. This is definitely a great little local spot to come hang out have a beer, eat some Mexican grub and watch your favorite game.

How can a taco shell be mealy? Ask Taco Beach. They know. Actually, they may not. Our waitress didn’t know what tamarind was or how to pronounce it, and when she was asked what ‘la plancha’ was(as in ‘pollo a la plancha’), she didn’t know that either and had to go ask, eventually coming back with ‘it’s grilled chicken’. I ordered the shrimp diablo and tinga tacos, a la carte. Mealy shells aside, the fillings were okay, I suppose. I liked the tinga better — it was tender and had a decent spice combination. The shrimp was firm but slightly bleachy, and covered in soggy tomatoes. I did like their guacamole, though.

I was supposed to meet a few coworkers from a nearby facility in the area for lunch, but they bailed at the last moment so the department assistant and I ended up at Taco Beach. I really liked the layout of the place and the service. Unfortunately I didn’t like the food. See pics. A coworker and I split an order of Calamari. Most of the dish was overcooked. The lighting didn’t allow the camera to really capture how well done the crustings were — which combined with the size of the cuts, meant those were too well done too. Imagine chewing on rubber bands. We didn’t finish the plate. I meant to bring it up with the server, however, I just forgot to. The burrito — didn’t look as good as the pic looks. I ordered several types of meat(Alamo), which it came with, but the meat portions were not proportionate with the rest of the ingredients. It was as if I were rice and salad, wrapped in a burrito. The first few bites were okay because the meats were concentrated on one end. However, can’t say the same after that. I’m not really sure if I would have liked it had there been more meat. I was already turned off with the calamari. Both my coworker and I felt that this would be a cook happy hour destination. Just not a great place to eat.
