When I was about 3 I started going to this school. I used to go to the Nursery School across the street until I contracted Chicken Pox. I remember them not letting us go to the bathroom if it wasn’t «potty time» and having a few accidents. The teachers let the older kids pick on the younger kids. It wasn’t a very good school. So I was happy to go to Dorothy Ahrens. Dorothy Ahrens has been in business over 50 years. The owner Dorothy still teaches at the school. Her great-grandchildren now attend here. It’s an awesome learning environment(my daughter even skipped Kindergarten and went straight to the 1st grade). It’s a very family oriented school. They pray before they eat which I love. The kids are fed 2 snacks and lunch if they go there all day. The menu is posted on the wall so you know what your child is eating. All the age groups are separated. So there will not be 6-year-olds with the two-year-olds. The apparatus is miniature with little toliets and sinks for the kids, low drinking fountains, outside a small jungle gym, low swings, small tables and chairs, etc. The bigger kids even help tend a garden and come home with the vegetables they helped grow. It’s very affordable and the staff is great. Some have been there over 25 years. There honestly isn’t anywhere else I would want to send my children. I try to have all my friends and family send their kids here. It’s the best!
