Sunset Designers and Builders transformed our old regular driveway and front yard into a lovely stylish yard and porch. He used bull nose brick to create a beautiful design for the flower beds. I love the use of a brick pattern design on the driveway to create an elegant look. We would not have had a clue of how to do this. All we needed was John to design it and build it. He does quality work.

John built our pool quickly, efficiently and on budget. There were no surprises. He also followed up on a couple of small repairs a year after building our pool. Great service!

Sunset Builders built us a beautiful pool, fireplace and outdoor kitchen in 2009! We have loved it everyday since then! John was great in recommending quality equipment and features to compliment the quality pool he designed and built. He kept us up to date on the progress of the build every step of the way. The whole process was neat, timely and stress-​less! Over the past few years a few small issues have come up; one call to John and he would come and adjust, replace or fix whatever the issue was. I can’t say enough about the quality and responsiveness of John and the team at Sunset!

Absolutely would recommend Sunset Designers and Builders for any work on your pool. They recently completed a major renovation of our pool including hardscape (decking), pool equipment, electrical and resurfacing the pool itself. They completed the job absolutely on time and within the projected budget. They were extremely neat during the construction process and most importantly (to us) they were in constant communication with us to provide updates on the progress. In addition, ALL of their management folks and workers were extremely pleasant to work with and very creative. Could not be happier with the results. The pool and surrounding area are beautiful. John Zahn is the BEST!!!

We enthusiastically recommend Sunset Designers & Builders, as they completed a most beautiful flagstone indoor and outdoor patio in both our sunroom and leading outdoors into our backyard. Our job was quite a complex one as we have a 1940’s California ranch style home, and we were very particular with wanting the new flagstone of our sunroom floor and backyard patio to echo the original existing front patio and the flagstone details on the exterior of our home. John gave us perfect design advice that maintained the visual integrity of our home to remain in the mid-​century vintage, and his team executed the work perfectly. His team was always on time, conscientious, completed the work in the time estimated, and they were perfectly detail-​oriented craftsmen. We are SO happy with John and his work and we will absolutely hire him again as the need arises!

We cannot say enough about our wonderful experience with Sunset Designers & Builders! From the first time we met John Zahn, we knew we wanted him to build us one of his beautiful elevated pools. John listened to all of our thoughts and provided excellent ideas to complete the perfect back yard oasis for us! The entire Sunset team was very professional and always accessible.
