This restaurant put garbage on my car. Absolutely unacceptable, now they’re littering all over the place. The food isn’t worth it and the selection makes no sense!

It is insane to me that Chulada doesn’t have a perfect 5 stars. I’ve been going here for years & it’s always excellent customer service(the owner is friendly & hard-working), quick delivery &THEBESTHARDSHELLCHICKENTACOS. Not kidding.

I love the authentic food here. My husband and I discovered it a few months ago and I alway think about when we can go next! The Huaraches are my favorite, juts remember it’s authentic! So if you aren’t used to the spice, just ask for it without the salsa on top ;) but sooooo worth the burn.

This is a no frills kind of place. Come here, get the 3 crispy tacos(one ground beef, one shredded beef, one chicken), and leave with a happy belly. The owner was super friendly, we will definitely be back for the tacos.

I paid $ 8.72 for a Deluxe Breakfast burrito. This burrito was so small it could fit in the palm of my hand. It should have cost $ 4.72! And it took 20 minutes to make it! Needless to say I won’t be back and cannot recommend this location.

For those who love hard-shell tacos, Chulada Grill has several excellent options. After today, I highly recommend the chicken, ground beef, and shredded beef tacos. All of which come with diced tomatoes, cheese, and lettuce. I also tried the nachos, which were great. However, the hard-shell tacos are definitely worth coming down to Miracle Mile to try.

So one Saturday morning I woke up and REALLY wanted Menudo. Having recently moved to LA from San Diego, I missed having Menudo places in every corner. Well this place was in walking distance so I gave it a try. The menudo did not disappoint! It was filled with honeycomb tripe, and very flavorful! One thing I thought was weird(which i REALLY liked) was that there was hardly any Hominy? I try to stay low carb so I would pick them out anyways but there was hardly any in there, which was great – but for you people who aren’t on a low carb diet you might be like where’s my hominy? I also got their chicken hard taco(yes I know that has carbs). The guy warned me that it was sweet – which was very accurate. They have this sauce which literally tasted like it was salsa that they added sugar to… I wasn’t a fan, but he did warn me so I can’t blame them. The service was also amazing, they were so nice! I will definitely be back for the menudo!

Great tacos; prefer the hard shell chicken – they’re different than any you’ll have anywhere else. Their other dishes are great too, but don’t expect anything fancy. It’s basic, non-gentrified Mexican food with no frills except that they use really fresh ingredients and it’s not at all greasy. We live around the block and are regulars.

Ordered the Macho burrito, as it was described like a enormous burrito, thinking the word Macho you automatically thinking big and stuffy. Took about 20 min to finally get my(macho burrito) as well a small carnitas tacos that had about 4 pieces of meat inside, restaurant was empty… my burrito was served cold and only to see that it was stuffed with 95%of lettuce, tomatoes, avocado and sour cream, the rest was 3% meat and 2%beans. The burrito was $ 8.00 and the small taco was $ 3.00. Took me about 5 min to finish the 2 bite taco and burrito. Very disappointed! They charged for enormous meals when you actually get sample bites from Costco.

It’s so hard to find some good menudo on this side of town, i usually end up going to east side. Had a late night craving and was so satisfied. Really fresh ! New favorite spot.

Have passed by this cute joint in a strip mall dozens of times over the years. Was craving Mexican food en route home today and a quick stop at Chulada Grill Express made sense. Place is very quaint and the guy behind the counter incredibly nice. I was there at 130PM today for a late lunch. I badly wanted to like this place. I ordered a tostada salad with beef. 7 minutes later it arrived as promised. Unfortunately the beef was a bit tough. The salad was kinda mediocre and 3 star at best. I was hoping for 4 star or better; however, it was just not that good. I loved the quaint décor and the old feel of this joint. I obviously need to give them another try with the hope I get something better next time. However, I am concerned as it appears others have had mediocre experiences like mine. Stay tuned for round two!

So disappointing. I ordered fajitas after developing a craving for them earlier in the day, so I figured I’d order some in for dinner. The only reason this gets two stars instead of one is because they delivered in a much faster window than estimated(via Eat24). I paid almost $ 35 for what should have cost around $ 10. The«fajita» meats were thin as cardboard, chewy, tasteless, and drowned in some kind of red sauce(THATISNOTFAJITAS!!). The peppers and onions were in chunks instead of long strips that would fit in the tortillas rolls. I asked for corn tortillas instead of flour and got three tiny measly tortillas that had been cooked so long they were shriveled and rubbery. The guacamole I paid $ 3 for was not only tiny, but a very dark green color, indicating it had been made at least a day or two in advance. The chips and salsa that came free with my online order consisted of overly greasy STALE chips and salsa so spicy it had zero flavor. I know I’m a little biased since I grew up in Texas with amazing Mexican food, but this was just a major upset. There’s enough for a second meal, but I’m sadly not looking forward to it.

My wife and I love Chulada Grill. They have been delivering to us for years. We especially love their hardshell ground beef tacos, chicken tortilla soup, bean and cheese burritos and did I mention that their hard shell ground beef tacos are the best I have had in Los Angeles. Love their guacamole too. The owner is wonderful and very generous. We are regular customers.

Yes this place is good. When they are open. I will say, delivery will screw up your order, so if you are local walk in and order. They make it fresh. The Avocado salad is my favorite, it’s fresh romaine lettuce, ranchero cheese, tomatoes and avocado with a lime dressing. I would suggest just using fresh lemon, or fresh lime. Very good. They also have great enchiladas and their hard shell tacos are just how mom used to make them. Fattening and good. If you are on the westside and looking for good Oaxacan food. This is it! :) Black beans and rice hit or miss! But I think you will enjoy this place.

I have been looking for a good Mexican delivery place in my area for months with little to no luck until I came across Chulada Grill on GrubHub. My expectations weren’t high going into it, as I have had some not so great Mexican food experiences in LA, but I was actually pleasantly surprised! The food arrived within the quoted delivery time on GrubHub(about 40 – 50 minutes on a Sunday evening). The delivery guy had some difficulty navigating my building, which is quite confusing I’ll admit, and he spoke little English so it was difficult directing him, but he eventually made it to my apartment and was really friendly despite the hassle! Kudos for that! Let’s move on to the food. When I first got the bag I immediately checked to make sure everything was in there because it felt too empty/light for the amount of food I ordered. After checking, everything appeared to be in there, but be warned that the portion sizes are small. I’m used to other Mexican restaurants where it’s almost a given there will be leftovers because the portions are THAT big. Sadly, this isn’t the case for Chulada. The carne asada fries are frighteningly small. Like really, really small. For $ 7 I was expecting a regular takeout box, not one of the half-sized ones they normally put hotdogs in! Despite this, the fries were really good. It came with melted cheese, sour cream, and guacamole on top. They were definitely skimpy on the amount of meat they gave, which was annoying(it’s 7 freaking dollars!), but it had a really nice flavor and no grizzle. I was impressed with the fries, I just wish the portion wasn’t so small for the price. I also ordered a ground beef burrito, which came ICE cold. It was not even close to being warm; just flat out cold. This isn’t such a big deal for me, but I know many customers would be very annoyed by this. Not sure why it arrived so cold when the rest of the meal was mildly warm? Anyways, the burrito also had great flavor. The meat was sparse(seems to be a theme at Chulada), particularly for $ 7.50, but was tasty. It was filled with plenty of lettuce(which was fresh and a good quality!) and sour cream. It also usually comes with tomatoes, which I opted out of. Looking back on it, it’s probably the smallest burrito I’ve ever received from a Mexican restaurant(see pictures). Had it been hot I think it would have been even better. Lastly, the chips and salsa and rice are all good as well(all very standard; nothing out of the usual but still good). A couple notes about the salsa: it is HOT and it’s also very liquidy. It almost has the consistency of water, which I haven’t seen too often at places. Would have liked for it to be chunkier. All in all it was a good meal. I would probably have given it 4 stars if the meal didn’t arrive cold and if the portions weren’t so ridiculously small for the price. If basing it off of flavor alone, it’s definitely worth a try!

4 words: Chicken Hard Shell Taco. I’ve never had something anything quite like this. Even some coworkers who prefer soft shell liked it. It’s not like a traditional hard taco shell, it’s wavy like a real oyster shell. Also makes it easier to hold onto. The chicken’s seasoning is also unique there’s a sweetness to it that’s so familiar and comforting. Also, dem chips…
