I come here often and Scott is amazing! If you need and want a happy bartender, see Scott. If you want a sour puss nasty lady, see Tammy. she was the worst. She’s horrible, the reason for the 2 stars. Tammy or Tami? Either way she had a nasty TUDE and makes terrible drinks. We were happy on a level 10 and she took it down to a 2. Tammy was a rude B. Avoid. See Scott, he’s wonderful and nice. Tammy has issues. We spoke to the«manager» who said she was one of his best bartenders. The manger is also awful… Unhelpful and snarky. Not understanding. I’d rather pregame than deal with those sour faces. Get rid of her. But Scott is wonderful !!!

My uncle passed out at the theater and the staff was unbelievably helpful. Tori in particular was a superstar. And of course, the venue itself is gorgeous.

I’ve been to El Rey Theatre about 3 times now with the amazing Yuna being my most recent visit(others have been Clean Bandit and Madeon). This venue is pretty small compared to other venues in LA but honestly, it’s perfectly sized and intimate with great sounds and staff(which I enjoy very much). It’s also pretty nice inside as well with the chandeliers dangling from the ceiling. It does get stuff/hot if you decide to stand in the general pit area. Knowing myself, I decided to stand to the side but I was still pretty close to the stage! In terms of parking, there is valet parking for $ 10 but I mean, I would try to find residential parking nearby if you want free haha. Just make sure that it’s not permit residential parking. That’s what I did and I saved myself some mula LOL. Also what interesting about this music venue is that everyone seems pretty chill/lax about security. They don’t really pat you down prior from entering inside… they just scan you ticket/check your ID and go. I mean, good vibes right? Haha. El Rey will always have a special place in my heart because it was the first venue I’ve been to for these type of smaller music concerts and I still enjoy them very much! Will come back for the next upcoming, local artist! Thank you, El Rey! :)

Beautiful venue that can host an intimate vibe for artists and upcoming artists. The venue was clean, love the grand chandeliers. The only con I could think of is the parking. I don’t mind paying for valet but the wait time was forever

This might be my favorite spot for concerts. Anywhere is a good place to be standing, it’s beautiful, and never an expensive show! I have seen some of my greatest concerts here. If you see a ticket, snatch it up! Love me an intimate concert setting.

One of my favorite LA venues and probably the one I frequent the most. What can I say, the artists love playing at the El Rey. It’s a classy general admission venue. Though they have VIP seating up top on the balcony, the GA sections aren’t that bad. The pit is an actual pit, and the side decks are elevated(shorter people like myself don’t have to cry about not being able to see). I’ve stood in various places throughout the space and have never been disappointed. The sound is decent here. Well, other than the one time I stood right at the front of the stage and felt the bass kick ruffling my clothes. that was fun. Street parking is a challenge unless you’re lucky or get there early. I’ve utilized valet, which ran efficiently and was at a fair price. They do partner with a parking garage about a block over; prices vary by show. The main issues I’ve had were with security. They’re not the friendliest people, but I guess you should never expect them to be. Sometimes you can get a camera in, sometimes not. Despite having Meet & Greet access, I was turned away for having one, yet I saw(non-press) people with them inside, even a few with high end SLRs. Of course when someone else can slide by with that, it sours the experience a little.

El Rey Theatre is hard to miss so that is very good. And the art deco converted theatre is perfectly A-OK in my book venue-wise. Parking gets a little confusing. I paid $ 20 for mandatory valet half a block away from the site(there was a big sign that said El Rey Theatre Parking) but there was also a parking job charging $ 10 for mandatory valet right in front of the theater too??? Cry.

Smack dab in the middle of the Miracle Mile area is El Rey Theatre. It reminds me of a fancier Palladium. The venue is easy to get into, getting to the small box office isn’t too bad even though it is in the middle of the security line. There is a bar in the front lobby and a bar inside the venue proper. The drinks are expensive and a bit watered-down, but otherwise it was a great experience. They need to improve the bathroom experience though: one bathroom for women and one for men isn’t enough for this large of a venue, unless they have some on the balcony that I missed The acoustics are great.

This is a pretty looking but terrible sounding venue. Whenever a bass-music artist comes to play here, I always feel like I’ve been cheated and want my money back. STOPBEINGCHEAPANDUPGRADEYOURSOUNDSYSTEM. It sounds empty in there. All other similar sized venues in L. A sound way better in comparison. Now when I see an artist on tour coming to LA but for some reason they choose this venue, I skip. FIXIT. It will pay off.

Went to see Coeur De Pirate here at El Rey. Loved the venue! Very intimate, and I was very close to the stage. If there’s another concert here sometime that I would like to attend, I’d definitely come back. I got very close street parking, and the street parking(for meter parking) is free after I believe 7 if I remember.

The El Rey is one of my most favorite venues in Los Angeles. I’ve been there to dance a ton of times and I’ve been there for concerts. I love the ambience inside. The staff is always friendly. Fun place to see shows at. Nice sized dance floor. Women’s bathrooms could be a lil better, but that’s pretty much the case anywhere. Lots of places to park around the El Rey too. I’ll never hesitate to go to an event here!

The boyfriend got me tickets to see«Delray at the El Rey». Comedian Dean Delray and friends were performing for his birthday, which happens to fall one day before mine. I accidentally spoiled my own surprise because I checked Stub Hub for local Billy Freckles shows. My heart sank when I saw it. I knew right away that he would be taking me. How perfect, though. I love me some Burr and Delray and Bartnick. Also on the lineup was Brian Redban, Chris D’Elia and Joe Rogan. I’m not the biggest fan of D’Elia’s, but his take on love was pretty funny. I’d never seen Redban’s standup before, but thought he was great. Rogan, I used to find a little annoying. His podcast interviews are just way too long and he comes off as a know-it-all sometimes. He totally killed; I’m officially a fan. We stuck around for three songs. Delray was singing AC/DC covers with a live band. Even though he was nursing a sore throat, he sounded great. For the show, chairs were lined up where it’s usually GA standing room. The floor is set up in levels so it’s easier to view the stage. Doors were at 8, show started at 9. We got in around 8:30 and were able to find seats in the last row. Street parking was easy. We found a meter spot one block away. Plenty of late night eats in the Koreatown neighborhood. There’s a Five Guys across the street, but we didn’t give in to temptation.

One of my goals living in SoCal is to visit as many concert venues in LA, big or small. The El Rey Theatre is on the smaller side of the venues I’ve been to but it’s one of my more recent favorites. We were able to check out Houndmouth on a random Tuesday night and because of that the parking in the area was easy to find. There were plenty of side street parking spaces with less than a 5 minute walk to the venue. The theatre itself is clean and that includes the bathrooms. Although they do not allow any gum(probably because of the carpet) there’s a bathroom attendant who you can get breath mints as well as other necessities. There’s a nice sized bar in the back of the theatre where you can buy yourself an adult beverage and enjoy at the upstairs balcony. I really like all the nooks and crannies on the sides of the main floor for crowds to gather in especially because they are elevated just high enough to get clear views of the stage. All of the staff we encountered throughout the venue was pleasant and helpful. Oh and the sound? The acustics were great :) The El Rey isn’t as big as the Wiltern and nowhere near as small as the Troubs. The El Rey, in my opinion is just the right size to see good bands without breaking the bank for ticket and parking. Definitely be coming back for more!

Awesome theatre! Seriously one of the best, coolest venues in all of Los Angeles to see a live band. I recently had the pleasure of seeing Chris Stapleton here and it was truly a life-changing experience. The theater is small and intimate but not too tiny — there’s plenty of standing room for regular ticket-holders, but you can also buy tables and nicer seats up on the sides or up top in the back. Something about the acoustics and the darkness and the beautiful chandeliers about this places makes it magical — it’s the way music should be seen! My only warning is that parking in this area can be rough(there is a lot across the street, but it fills up quickly), so you may just have to valet — not unexpected for LA though.

I live in SD but was up in LA and decided to see Borns at the El Rey. It was my first time there and I got to say I really like the venue. Chandeliers are hanging from the ceiling and there is elevated standing areas in both the right and left so it made it easy to stand for a while and lean against something. I parked across the street in a really nice garage that belonged to an apt. Max for parking was $ 10 but by the time I left the arm was up and I didn’t have to pay. 5 Stars for a clean good acoustic venue but skip Borns(all his music sounds the same).

Hadn’t been to the El Ray for awhile. I use to go back when the El Ray had club nights… yup. The El Ray is a wonderful music venue. The sound quality is banging. I’ve seen maybe three shows here the last one being Syven Streeter. She sounded so clear and crisp. It’s nothing better to go to a venue and all of the speakers are not busted. I’ve always enjoyed the restroom service as well. When your breath is 4 drinks down that gum comes in handy ;) $ 18 for the show. Solid space to dance, yet crowded enough to feel like a concert. This venue is pretty classic. I love it for the intimacy. As a matter of fact I just up’d it to 5 stars for all the amazing memories I’ve had there.

Intimate enough but no one stepped on my toes and I can still breathe!!! Saw The Cat Empire play here. I’m sure my experience had a lot to do with the type of fans this band has but I had a great time! STANDINGROOM: The standing crowds just naturally formed a semi circle facing the stage and I think it’s because there’s this STEP maybe 2 meters from the wall. Which is awesome for short people like me because I got to stand right by the edge of the step therefore, making sure that the person in front of me was lower than I am(they were a step below me). STAGE: The stage is high enough that people should generally have a good view of the band playing. SOUND: Not sure if it’s Cat Empire of the sound system but they sounded great! No glitches in the system. Sound was mixed perfectly. It looks like all the artists could hear themselves well. I’m a musician so I would know! BAR: There’s a bar in the back area. Drinks can be pricey. Merch Stand: They set up the merchandise on lower back left corner of the venue. It is literally a booth with a window where you have to kind of bob your head around to see all the shirts, cd’s, posters, etc. that they had on display. it was hard to see the merch they were selling through a window, behind the cashier. The employees straight up kick you out once the show is done.(which was a bummer because the band started messing around on the stage — who wouldn’t want to hear another encore!?) PARKING: Difficult… might have to walk a block or so… The place was generally clean, well ventilated, great sound, and I love that STEP!

I can’t say I see many shows at the El Rey — it seems like all of the artists I like prefer the Wiltern or Palladium — but this is definitely one of my favorite venues in the city. For one thing, parking isn’t terrible and you can often luck into finding a free spot on the street. Secondly, it is rather spacious inside. The stage is large and the standing room surrounding it is varied in height and width. This allows for people to spread out a bit, not having to stand on top of each other, and there isn’t a bad vantage point in the place. There’s nothing more annoying than going to a venue where the stage is low enough that I’m seeing more heads of attendees than persons on stage, and I’m not exactly short at 6′ either. The acoustics in here deliver great sound, too. The bands I saw here recently had very different sounds and the audio in here easily carried both, with a lack of high-end distortion and without getting too«fuzzy».

Beautiful intimate venue to see your favorite artists perform. Standing room only so to the ladies, come prepared in comfortable shoes. The concert I went to(Milo Greene and Zella Day) was about 2 hours long so I’m super glad I wore my booties to this concert. Great sound system, stunning chandeliers and 1920s Art Deco style. It seems that every spot in the house has a wonderful view of the stage. I loved how intimate the setting was! Located on Miracle Mile, El Rey Theatre is in a nice neighborhood in which I don’t feel afraid to walk back to my car after the concert. It is a breeze to get in and out of the venue and I don’t have to stress about traffic.(Unlike larger venues such as Hollywood Bowl, Staples Center, Greek Theatre, Forum, etc.) Can’t wait to come back to see other artists perform!
