This is one of my favorite places in LA now. The food is really good. Their Turkish döner is not authentic but they made spot on changes that makes eating döner even more enjoyable. I always get their mediterranean döner, but according to my friends the other ones are pretty good too. Besides their food, the atmosphere of the place is pretty awesome. The decoration makes me feel like I am in Berlin. They have a dj and even board games for people to just hang out and have good time while/after eating. The people working there are also very friendly. I hope they keep up the quality of the place as it is. Awesome place.

Pita strips! My friend and I stopped by here for a light snack since we were in the area. This is also the ONLY spitz location that serves alcohol. Their rose(with apple, mint, & lime) sangria is the most popular but the white(with peach, orange, basil) sangria isn’t too bad either, taste is a bit more citrusy. Pricing is overall okay considering the area($ 8/glass) but for larger parties I would suggest getting a pitcher. The pita strips are one of the things to try here. Last time they ran out so I wasn’t able to try them out. Thank goodness I didn’t have the same problem this time. The fried pita strips come with a side of hummus and these can be dangerous when you have the munchies. The crispiness yet slightly soft texture mixed with the hummus adds just the right amount of flavor. I could definitely finish an order of these by myself, albeit it probably wouldn’t be the best decision. Parking is pretty convenient. There are a couple parking structures nearby within walking distance if you aren’t able to find street parking, which has been harder with the construction going on.

Finally got to try this place after hearing so many great things about it. First of all the place is pretty cool. Colorful and unique with a bunch of art scattered throughout. I tried out the street cart doner with chicken. It was flavorful and pretty easy to eat, my only wish is that it came with more of the veggies. Overall it was good and gave me that guilt free feeling afterwards. One thing that stuck out to me was the very disinterested gentleman behind the order counter. Just seemed like he hated being there or maybe he was just having a bad day? Either way a greeting leaves a strong impression on people. you know.a warm smile, a welcoming comment, some eye contact. That sorta thing.

STREETCARTFRIES($ 9) ISWHEREIT’S AT. It has garlic aioli, feta, onion, green pepper, tomato, & pepperoncinis. You can add meat or feta for $ 3 more. Sounds pretty simple but it was so delicious. I would definitely opt for this than carne asada fries because it’s a little healthier, lighter and the fries are SOCRISPY(but I think it’s because they’re fried for a longer time than regular fries). Love how they don’t get soggy even when you reach the bottom. I split it in half with a friend and I was still hungry so I could have definitely finished this on my own. They also have a bunch of board and card games that you can play with your friends. I’m so excited to try their doner next!

I highly recommend getting the Street Cart Doner and Street Cart Fries! I got the Street Cart Doner with Chicken and it has the Mediterranean flavor was just right. I love how the tortilla chips in the wrap isn’t soggy and it adds the right amount of crunchiness to the wrap. In addition, the aioli sauce is phenomenal in every bite you take. Get the Rose Sangria– Mint, Apple, and Lime.

Came in for happy hour on a Tuesday and had a chill time. My friend and I were hungry and thirsty after waking all over Little Tokyo, but we weren’t ready to go ham and feast so we stopped by Spitz. Street cart fries, doquitos, and beer! Portions for happy hour food is perfect for two people! Food was delicious, atmosphere was very trendy, beer was refreshing, not much to complain!

Donner Salad w Falafel and Fries Basket I mean you can’t really mess up a salad, maybe a little too much feta for my liking, but still pretty good. Fries are ALWAYS perfect here and always ask for garlic aioli. As for the atmosphere, it’s fun and people are super friendly. Fun place to just relax and hang out with friends. Plus bar selection is pretty affordable.

I don’t think I’ve been to a place in little Tokyo that I didn’t like. I got the spicy one I forgot what it was called and it was good! I didn’t think I’d be so full after but I was. I also got the red Sangria. The decorations in this place is colorful. I like the mirror and random art they have on the walls. It’s small and cozy.

It’s about time I write a review for this particular Spitz location which I’ve been to several times. Every visit has always been a great experience with equally great food and drinks. Who’s not a fan of their Happy Hour specials though? Perfect spot for a quick bite and a drink or two. Spitz food makes my tummy oh so happy! The Döquitos are their version of taquitos; fried Lavash bread rolled with zesty feta, onion, aioli and smothered with even more feta, aioli, onions, pepperoncinis, green pepper, tomato, and olives. Pretty similar to the Street Cart Fries in terms of toppings! Fried Pita Strips are also delish and they come with a side of hummus. Like I’ve probably already mentioned in my Spitz Los Feliz review, you can’t go wrong with the all-around customer favourite Street Cart Fries. Totally a shareable item and an ideal accompaniment to any of their Döner Wraps! My personal favourite and one that I always fall back on when I get too indecisive about what to order is the Street Cart Döner. You get different protein options(Beef & Lamb, Chicken, Falafel) and you can make it a combo by adding a side and a drink for an additional $ 4 or so. Their craft beer list is excellent and they boast homemade sangrias and seasonal drinks. On my most recent visit, they happened to have a Lavender Pear Sangria on the drink menu and I knew I had to try it. Amazingly refreshing is how it was! Could I ever be lavender’d out? I think not! My date had the Eagle Rock Populist IPA which I had a couple sips of. Definitely liked the citrus/orange with a hint of pine to it. Solid IPA if I do say so myself. Swinging by this part of LA and choosing to eat at Spitz instead of the plethora of top places to eat in Little Tokyo? Yeah, I don’t know why but Spitz just always comes to mind. Maybe it’s the fact that I’ve never had less than stellar time here. Service is consistently friendly, ambience is chill, and there’s something about Mediterranean fare that my taste buds love so much.

It’s a good thing Spitz isn’t near where I live or I’d be here inappropriately often. The décor inside is verrry interesting and not what you’d expect with some cool wall art and also really loud rock music. There’s outdoor seating if you need a little more peace and quiet. I had the spicy chicken doner and my friend and I split the street cart fries. I’m not a huge fan of feta cheese but the combination of feta, aoli, tomatoes, and onions is soo on point. Definitely worth indulging in these. I really liked my chicken doner and it came stuffed with meat and veggies. Always appreciate when restaurants don’t skimp on the veggies. Knocking a star off because the chicken was a bit dry and they don’t have a grilled chicken option– just gyro style which usually results in dry chicken. But, still flavorful nonetheless and a little extra tzatziki helps too. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area and need a quick and yummy bite!

It’s a cool hipstery place. I came around 3pm and it wasn’t too busy. We ordered the Street Cart Fries, Street Cart Doner as a wrap, and doquitos. Overall, I really enjoyed the fries – the toppings and garlic aoili! I would definitely come again for the fries. However, I am not much of a fan of the doner or the doquitos. The doner was a bit bland for me. The doquitos was just okay. Service was friendly.

Spitz got something goin’ on here. It’s a perfectly executed millennial joint, as it takes a mediterranean classic and gives it a modern twist, or wrap, for that matter. You walk in and you feel like you’re at a hip coffee shop/bar hybrid, with the DJ layin’ down chill beats to further set the vibe. We came late on a Friday night, and the service was pretty quick. Ordered 2 of the street cart doner wraps, mixed meat, along with perhaps my favorite thing at Spitz, the street cart fries. Immediately, we were swept off our feet by the street cart fries. As an avid fan of carne asada/super fries, this was the naturally the next thing to try. They’re basically super fries of the Mediterranean, and they taste amazing, even without the meat option. Let me just say we focused on finishing the fries instead of our wraps. As for the street cart wrap itself, I only ate half since I thought it was lacking a little in flavor, especially if you’re branding it as THE item to get on the menu. Street cart fries stole the show for sure. There’s a lot of positives going for Spitz Lil Tokyo: the vibe/ambience, happy hour, in house dj, flavored water, and of course, THEFRIES. But I’m giving Spitz a 3 based on two things: the lack of flavor in the doner, and the attitude the bartender/cashier was giving to the couple before me. The bartender absolutely had no interest in helping out the couple before me, whereas he was very cordial with me. Not sure what could explain it, but as far as first impressions go, Spitz didn’t have a good one. Seating for 2 is generally easy, but I wouldn’t bring a large group in since seating is FCFS. Try your luck on metered street parking on 2nd, or on Central. Otherwise, there’s a couple parking structure options on 2nd and Central. And it’s right across Wolf & Crane, my favorite bar in LT!

So this blew me away. It might not be the most authentic Mediterranean food, but I would actually choose this over eating a burrito(sorry, my Socal roots). I’ve always had struggled finding a burrito-like wrap that had a perfect wrap: filling ratio. Each bite has to be perfect, and perfect this is! I came on a Wednesday afternoon around 1:30PM and quickly ordered, their most popular doner. –1 Street car doner with beef and lamb($ 9) //WARM ANDCUDDLY. Delicious! I love the abundant vegetables, garlic aioli and the lavish chips. Perfect size for one person! I would get this if you wanted something light and easy. Pros: –Great ambiance! Really cool inside! I like that they have the bar near the entrance area(though no one was there) and the cool décor. –Great quality! I usually don’t like meat that is too oily, but this was perfect! As well, price = quality is on par. I would eat this instead of a Chipotle burrito! Cons: –Meh service. Lady was pretty inattentive and slow, but the food made up for it. –Meh parking. Meter parking! Or park in a parking lot.($ 2 for every 15 minutes? Or $ 0.50 for every hour?) –Wrapping of the doner. So… the brown wrapping tripped me out. And I almost ate it because I thought it was part of the«skin».(#n00b mistake, I know.) Tips/Observations: –Y’all be thinking«you’re in Little Tokyo. what are you doing eating doner?!» Well, long story short, this was actually a pit stop before more driving. Besides, I’ll be in the Land of the Rising Sun in a few days. so Little Tokyo is to be revisted next time! I gobbled up this sucker like I haven’t seen food in years. Definitely will come out to another location and get other menu items! COME, if you don’t want to get Japanese food. in Little Tokyo.

If you like Mediterranean food, and you have not been to Spitz, I would say you should give it a try! Food and drinks are pretty good here, and it is very chill. My favorite wraps are Mediterranean Doner and Zesty Feta Doner because I love hummus and feta cheese! When you are eating, be careful at the end… The paper wrap is always tacked into the actual wrap… Always! My friends and I have eaten the paper a couple of times because of that, and no, that paper is not delicious… I also recommend to share Street Cart Fries, which come with feta, garlic aioli and some vegetables, such as green peppers and tomato. Yummy! Wraps are $ 9, and Street Cart Fries is $ 8.5. I think street parking is free after 8pm during the weekdays!

If you’re looking for a fun place to enjoy Mediterranean food, give Spitz a try. With a funky, hip vibe and friendly service, Spitz serves up quality wraps, along with falafel and hummus type of dishes alongside copious amounts of fries. I ordered one of the basket lunches and subbed falafel for meat. What I received was a ton of food arranged in a basket, with salad on one side, fries on the other, and 3 falafel balls on top alongside crispy bread strips to dip in the included hummus. Hummus was everywhere, including, unfortunately, the top of my fries, which got de-crisped by the delicious chickpea sauce. Spitz is also the home of a bar with some inviting happy hour deals. If you’re in the Little Tokyo neighborhood and NOT in the mood for Japanese food, Spitz might be right up your alley.

YUM!!! This is my first visit to this location — been to the one in Los Feliz with Belle T. Naturally, I went with her to this location. It’s situated right in the heart of Little Tokyo, next to the Japanese Village Market. The place is small, but quaint, with a patio for dining outside(ideal for people watching). I had The Works Street Cart Fries with the lamb/beef doner and mixed fries(regular and sweet potato) and one falafel. Both were really tasty. I’ve had their doner before, so I knew what to expect. This location did not disappoint — meat was flavorful, tender, and perfectly cooked. The falafel was hearty and a really nice size. The service was solid, as well. I would return.

When it’s late and you search for the nearest open restaurants, you jump for joy when Spitz pops up! I’ve been to the Los Feliz location before and the vibes/décor are similar. Funky modern is what I like to call it. Service was stellar thanks to bartender Will! He greeted us with some awesome dance moves and suggested a smokey tequila which I never had. Tequila and dancing is always a plus in my book I already knew what I wanted so it wasn’t very difficult to decide. If you’ve never been, I suggest the Streetcar Doner. You can select your choice of meat and go to town. I opted for the Spicy Doner this time and I think it could have had a bit more kick but nonetheless left my belly happy. I’ll be back for more when I’m in the area!

The one thing that I seem to be unable to find an excellent replication of anywhere in America is a true doner kebab. Literally, these were all I was eating when I visited Germany. Gyros derive from the same line of pita bread + meat off the spit, but they don’t quite get it right the same way with the fillings and max grease. Well, my friend pointed out Spitz when we were on the way to another spot. Made a mental note to come by here some time. I know I technically should’ve gotten the Berliner Doner if I wanted the closest approximation to my German doner kebabs. But staff here said that the Street Cart Doner was the most popular dish on the menu. Took the beef/lamb version of the doner(of course). Not quite as greasy as I would’ve wanted it, but the doner did not disappoint. So much food for $ 9! Did not venture for the Berliner Fries as well since I didn’t want to go full attack mode, but even the regular side of fries were pretty top notch. There was a pretty significant line when I got here at high lunch time on a Friday, but it does pass through quicker than you would expect. I was definitely able to put my order in, get my food, and get to my car all within an hour. And that kinda matters, since the closest parking options around here are all street parking. Also, Little Tokyo is of a bit of an odd location to have a doner kebab place, it’s located near some of my favorite spots in the area(Manna, Daikokuya, Shinsengumi, Sushi-Gen, etc.), so it works for me! Overall, I’m pretty sure that the only way I’m going to find a true, awesomely greasy doner kebab is to go back to Germany or Turkey. But I was fairly happy with my meal here and would definitely come back again.

Spitz is a pretty straightforward spot so I’ll keep this short and sweet. You could come here to eat, drink, or do both. Good beer choices and they make 3 different AMAZING sangrias. The food is really good, my most favorite being the mixed meat Street Car Doner wrap. It’s a MUST have if it’s your first time going. Their elaborate fries, which I’ve never actually tried, also look ridiculously heart-stopping tasty. Ambiance is also dope, really cool street art covers the walls. Go! Go now!

Going to Spitz was the first time I had non-Japanese food in Little Tokyo and boy, if I’m not in the mood for ramen or sushi in the area, I now know where to go. I had the classic Doner w/Pommes wrap($ 9) which is deceptively small looking but dense and thus very filling. With a hearty amount of lamb, beef, salad, and fries — I consider that to be the standout ingredient — the Doner is incredibly well made, as close as anything I’ve had here to the one I’ve had in France, and definitely the first thing you should try if you ever come to Spitz. I really like the atmosphere of Spitz too — its got the trappings of a fun eccentric looking bar and I think I’d like to grab a drink the next time I visit. Like going to any place in Little Tokyo, parking is where you find it.
