Apple Tree Cafe and Bakery

A friend and I stopped in here for a quick breakfast before a busy day. Neither of us had ever been and we had no idea what to expect.
Upon walking in a kind woman instructed us to sit wherever we like and brought us menus and got our drink order.
We ordered identical meals consisting of a bread choice, eggs (2 or 3 made your way), home fries, and a meat (bacon or sausage I believe). I got 2 scrambled eggs, bacon, a biscuit and gravy, and the home fries. The most outstanding item were the home fries. There were twice as many as I could ever hope to eat and they were fresh, warm, and crisp. They were so good! I highly recommend getting them.
The service was prompt and friendly. I could tell they have regulars (they came in after us) and treated them well which is always sweet to see.
There was a chalkboard featuring lunch specials and a soup of the day that sounded amazing! I definitely want to come back to try lunch!
Also…they sell Martinelli’s apple juice! It’s so good and comes in an adorable apple shaped bottle. We got some to go as it was too sweet to drink with the meal in my opinion. But a yummy treat afterwards!

My friend and I went here for breakfast, small cute atmosphere. Great muffins and breakfast burritos.

I really enjoyed my breakfast here. I haven’t ever heard anyone in Lubbock talk of this gem. It had great reviews on Unilocal so I had to try it! It didn’t disappoint. I got the breakfast plate with two eggs, a huge portion of potato squares, two slices of bacon and two slices of bread. So much food and all for only 5.49? How are they doing this? The food tastes fresh and high in quality. Our waitress was very nice. The food only took about 10 minutes to reach our table. The lunch special for today looked amazing and they look like they have a lot of other really great lunch choices. I will be returning for breakfast again and to try out lunch.

I was lured to try this place by a Yahoo generated article about the Top Ten restaurants in Lubbock. We ordered coffee, the spiced apple waffle special, and a three egg omelet. Almost everything came cold. The omelet came with a biscuit/​gravy side. The biscuit was light and fluffy, however the library paste gravy was ice cold. I sent it back and got back the exact same plate (my bite taken out of it) except that they had nuked it. Now the biscuit was soggy and tasteless. The waffle seemed to have been pre-​made and reheated. You needed a steak knife to cut it. It was cool, the apples were cold, and the syrup served with it was cold as well. The omelet was pretty tasty, but again cool at best. The home fries (hash browns) were fairly well made and tasty, but again almost cold. The coffee was passable, but not very memorable, and we got time to taste it as the service was very slow. There were ten patrons when we sat down. We were brought one photocopied menu for us to share. It was a Saturday morning at about 9:30 and only one waitress was working the floor. This may not be how they normally are and this may have been a bad day, however I can tell you we will not be going back to see if that is the case.

Great place for lunch! I always get the special. Today I had meat loaf with mashed potatoes and a squash casserole. Good price and the staff are always very attentive and friendly. Will be coming back in the near future. The cookies are great as well. I had a chocolate chip cookie today. Great place!

My family was excited tr try Apple Tree Café after reading the reviews. However we walked in with a small 9lb SERVICE DOG who works for my DISABLED VETERAN husband & were told we COULD NOT bring him in. We have service ID, tags & leash for this animal. The place only had 2 other customers in there. The dog is & was very well behaved This is against the law for them to refuse entry. We will NEVER do business with this place nor any other that refuses USA VETERANS.

I love breakfast food! There are a few good places to eat breakfast in Lubbock, But Apple Tree Café and Bakery is exceptional! The food and ingredients used were tasty and cooked by someone who cares. Thank you for the great food and friendly service! We Will be back for certain.

Wonderful! The ladies who work here are super sweet! So friendly. And the cookies are delicious. I would highly recommend this delightful bakery. I’m from Fort Worth and I will return here next time I’m in town!

I’ve been looking for a bakery here in Lubbock and this is the one I will be visiting regularly. I had the bacon cheeseburger and ordered fries but instead was given chips. I didn’t complain or tell them it was wrong because I was hungry and didn’t really care. The burger was delicious and the excellent customer service that made me feel comfortable made my experience worth the visit. The waiter was very nice and attentive and the woman, who I believe was the cook, that brought my food to me was also very friendly. At the end of my meal she approached me and apologized for the minor mistake of not giving me french fries and I reassured her it was fine. She gave me two snicker doodle cookies for free because of it. I will be back to try their breakfast soon and more of their desserts. The location of this bakery is behind wild burger on 50^th street.

Finally was able to visit here and WOW! Everything we had was awesome. Took home some of the apple cake (YUMMY!) and sent a bag of cookies home to my son and his roomies. They DEVOURED them. Love this place!

Best Breakfast and Bakery in Lubbock hands down! Maybe even in all of Texas.
I read about this place in Texas Monthly. The apple turn-​overs are the Bomb! Home fries are best in Texas. Homemade Sausage with some kick. I wish this place was in Austin so I could eat here every week.
I bring Apple Tree cookies to my clients and they rave about them. My wife gets mad if i don’t bring her a dozen.
Great Coffee, toast, eggs. You won’t be disappointed! Lunch is great too.
