Cozy atmosphere and crazy Delicious pie! Can be a little pricey depending, but totally worth it. A great date place also. Like pub for non alcoholics who love sweets(or something like that).

Red velvet & Oreo pie bite with a pretzel crust. The Oreo was wonderful. I wish I would’ve gotten double Oreo. I didn’t even eat the red velvet, but that I loved the Oreo so much it didn’t take away from the experience. Other than that I would recommend! It was great. It was so cozy.

To me, this spot represents the hallmarks of a fantastic concept, innovation, and creativity, but poor execution and corners that are cut too often. First, this place has enormous potential in the theme, location, and the ambiance alone. Lubbock is in need of a dessert-themed place, and I for one lean towards pies as the pinnacle of deserts. The Kingsgate location coupled with the rustic, cabin-feeling environment is the right aesthetic call for such a place, and the connection between«mousse» and«moose» is a highly creative and workable name and product theme. All that being said, a purveyor of food goods can’t live by aesthetics alone, and that seems to be the case with this place. The actual selection of ready to serve pies is remarkably limited for a place that calls itself a pie bar. It seems that based upon anecdotal evidence of the patrons in the bar, most of the sales goes towards a «build-it-yourself» cup of cookies crumbled up in a small cup with mousse served on top. And this small helping is not all that cheap. I am not sure I loved the crust on my caramel hazelnut pie either. The flavor of the pie itself was good, but the crust lacked the crispness and flavor that I have enjoyed at other pie-themed places. Another complaint is that for such a rustic/luxury themed place, they seem to skimp and cheap out on the small things. As Sir Arthur Conan Doyle stated, «It has long been an axiom of mine that the little things are infinitely the most important.» I was reminded of that when my plain black coffee that I ordered came in a styrofoam cup more appropriate for Allsups(and don’t get me wrong, I love Allsup’s but it serves a different and lower cost need) than a high-end dessert place. So as to not just come across and negative and cynical, my advice to the Pie Bar would be to enrich the coffee offerings as a great complement to the desserts. Broaden the pie selection and include more fruit-based themes. Place less focus and emphasis on pre-bought pie crusts and develop more homemade options as well as more encased pies(crust on both the top and bottom of the filling) with a thicker flour that gives off a more clear indication that the pies are completely made from scratch. Invest in high-end cups and saucers for the beverages to cater more to the high-end consumer. In my opinion, paying attention to some of the small details and adding some more authentic options will make this place great.

Beware a hipster trap, I walked in here on Saturday night probably the first real cold night of the year for Lubbock all I wanted was pie and a hot cup of coffee, that should be too much to ask for at a pie place… But that’s where it gets interesting I go up to the counter and ask for a piece of pie she tells me they are out of pie I start to notice all they are giving people are crushed up crackers or cookies adding what looks like canned filling in a cup and calling it a pie lame are you serious that’s not pie j don’t care what the hipsters there say needles to carry on with the review I went to Denny’s and had a piece of Pecan pie and fresh hot coffee for 4:33 cents if you want pie don’t come here but if you want to look trendy and pay 7 bucks for canned filling with crushed Oreos then this is the place for you.

I was not impressed with the service or the«pie». It’s essentially ground up cookies in a cup with whatever flavor mousse you choose and half a teaspoon of whipped cream. The chocolate mousse was not tasty and they did not allow me to try the flavors even though I think I saw someone in front of me try one.

I love the cozy atmosphere of The Pie Bar. It’s a quiet, intimate place to go for dessert after a dinner date. Friendly staff which makes up for the wait time. As for the«pie» I was not very impressed. I ordered the pie dip which comes with three fillings of your choice. I opted for pumpkin, dark chocolate, and carrot cake. I would have liked there to be a berry or citrus flavor on the menu. Something not so rich. I expected the carrot cake flavor to have bits of carrot and nuts but it was just cream and flavoring. All the fillings I tried tasted artificially sweetened, lacked flavor, and came with standard graham crackers rather than pie crust crumbles. In my opinion, a great pie has equally great pie crust. I’ll definitely give The Pie Bar another shot though.

Okay, I get it, ambiance, coffee shop coolness, but the bang– to-hype ratio is way out of balance. I cannot rave about sugar&cream whip to the extent that would cover a $ 9.00 dessert served in a communion cup and a baby spoon! Top it off with a double scoop of «I’m sorry» we don’t have any more Chocolate! Wait in a line 20 minutes, wait another 15 to be served and I do this so we look hip? I’m going to Braums.

We ended our Korean meal date at Seoul with some tasty moose desserts here at the Pie bar. Austin had the salted caramel, hazelnut chocolate moose pie. He enjoyed its divide in opposite flavors, but he felt it was a little rich for his liking. The caramel was very salty and the moose inside was almost a little sour. I meanwhile, had the Red Velvet moose with oreos and homemade whiped cream. As I usually do. He seemed to like mine more than his own choice. He thought the moousse was very original to the taste of Red velvet cake batter, and had a good creamy texture which paired well with the oreo crumbs. The homemade whiped cream is always a great addition aswell.

Way too heavy and sweet. This place looks nice and I was truly excited about trying the new place. I ordered the smallest scoop because I am not a huge fan of mousse when it is served just by itself.(I like to have it layered with some decent amount of crust or chou, ½ layer of mousse, and fresh/preserved fruit on top to even out the heaviness of the mousse.(FYI, mousse is made with heavy whipped cream, jam/chocolate etc, and gelatin. Super easy to make.) What I got instead was some sprinkle of crust at the bottom of the cup and two scoops of heavy mousse. There was no fruit or anything to make the whole thing a little lighter to make it enjoyable. After a few bites, I started feeling sick because of its heaviness. I was very surprised to see that people were actually finishing the larger scoops. Diabetes, overweight, heart attack all the way? Not me. But one star for the nice ambience.

This place is a hormonal woman’s fantasy come to life. Seriously who is the genius behind this concept dessert haven. I didn’t just like it, I LOVED it! I went with a few friends and ordered almost one of everything. Although we may have appeared like bulimics on a binge, I have to say the place and the pie offerings with a glass of milk just warmed my soul. So if you’re PMSing, pregnant, or just went through a break-up, skip the gallon of ice cream and get to Pie Bar! You NEED this. Thank you pie bar. I hope you franchise soon! I’d love to see you in So. cal.

Hello, and welcome to a warm cozy Colorado cabin! This is what I feel every visit to the Pie bar. They have dark colored decorations, comfortable chairs, and of course a few fire places. The workers are always so nice and happy to serve you. I have personally never had the typical pie filling cups they have. I go straight for their actual pie slices. I rarely eat dessert, seriously, maybe 6 times a year. This dessert is amazing. It is so rich and delicious that the sweetness doesn’t even bother me. I got their home made turtle cheesecake this year for my birthday and OHMAN was it tasty. The salted caramel pie was also amazing, very creamy and rich. If you like pie and you haven’t been here, go tomorrow. Please.

Amazing fillings! It’s delicious but because it’s very rich I couldn’t eat too much of it. The whip cream was light and fluffy that it complemented the thick rich Oreo filling I ordered. A unique build your own pie concept!

So this place I went to by looking at tons of reviews online saying this is the go to dessert place in Lubbock. Well I went with high expectations thinking it was going to be drop to the floor soon good. But honestly it was just ok. order 5 desserts The order was Death by chocolate pie Salted caramel pie Pie bitesk 1. Thin mint crust with dark chocolate filling 2. Wafer & pecan crust with red velvet filling PieFait Wafer & pecan crust with red velvet was the first choice then Oreo crust with Oreo filling To be honest the first bite was not bad but after that tasted like very flavored mousse loaded with sugar. The pies where the same fella like eating spoons of sugar for each bite. The desserts here are super sweet good way to get a nice cavity and a super nice sugar high. Other then that the atmosphere was a nice atmosphere for a dessert shop. Service was good

Such a cute place so clean and smelled so good. We had the pie dip and pie flight way too much one would of been enough but it was excellent. My favorite was the strawberry banana shortcake and the snickers. The atmosphere is so cozy we sat on a couch behind the fireplace we enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning again.

This is a cute little«mountain-lounge» type dessert café. If you can’t decide on one flavor, I would suggest the pie flight. 6 different flavor with a graham cracker crust. We tried ones like White Chocolate, Red Velvet, Oreo, Peach, Apple and Pecan Praline. All delicious with the homemade whipped cream. The Red Velvet is quite strong, after a couple of bites all I could taste was the red food coloring. The fruit fillings were the best. Perfect little dessert for date night.

I love this place! This is an adorable concept. you pick a crust and a pie filling and they stack it in a cute little parfait glass. They have several types of crusts(graham, nilla wafers, oreo, etc) and pie fillings(chocolate, snickerdoodle, cherry pie, etc). You can pick from several different sizes, however every time I’ve come I’ve gotten the pie bite. The pie bite is the perfect size for me with just the right amount without being overwhelming. Ambience is super cute and cozy. I personally love the cherry pie with the oreo crust. Service is very hit or miss. Last time I went, service was great, however have heard they will kick you out if you’re there 1 minute past closing. Also, have to pay for tap water and they won’t let you try flavors after 7PM. Super cute and yummy. Check it out!

I really wanted to like Chocolate Mousse Pie Bar. It’s a fun concept(choose your«crust» [read: cookie crumbs] and your pie filling, then enjoy), the interior is cozy(all dark wood, different seating areas, thoughtful details), and the service was friendly. Alas, the pie was just okay. I went for the Pie Flight(because who knows if I’ll ever be in Lubbock again… gotta try everything while I can) – shot glasses with Oreo, Red Velvet, Peanut Butter Cup, Coconut Cream, Choc’late Mousse, and White Choc’late Cherry Cordial pie filling, all on honey graham cracker«crust.» I was disappointed that they wouldn’t allow different crust flavors with the flight… the pretzel crust would have been a nice balance to some of the flavors. Everything was a little too sweet for me, and most of the flavors were pretty bland. Red Velvet, White Choc’late Cherry Cordial, and Chocolate Mousse were almost indistinguishable, except for the colors. The Peanut Butter Cup and Coconut Cream were my favorites, because they were the most flavorful, and also because the coconut had a different texture than the rest(which were all, as promised, very moussy!).
