This place always seem to be dirty when my family and I come for dinner; trash on the floor, tables full of dirty dishes, and dishes that just came from the dishwasher still have food residue on them. Came last night and it was crowded. with that being said, we had to wait to be seated, find a high chair(that I had to clean myself), and have a clean plate to use. All throughout the restaurant there were no clean plates! Even the dessert area didn’t have bowls for ice cream(ran out of cones). Little did I know that you had to bring your bowl to the ice cream stand and the lady that was serving it just scooped it and held it up, she just said yeah you need to bring a bowl, in a rude tone. Lady please lose your attitude, you only work at Golden Corral.

I don’t know if they have come under new management. But my last visit went surprisingly well. We arrived about 5:30 on Friday the 30th of October. The line went pretty fast. The salad was fresh. The food was always replenished. All trays were full as well as the specialty bars such as the Mexican and Asian cuisine. I realize this is a buffet and I’m to assume that not much tipping goes on. Our favorite part of the evening was TONY our server. Happy, upbeat, enthusiastic and by comparison, a hard worker. Payed extra attention to my 84 yr. old mother. Whether stacking plates, silverware bussing. Definitely not a slacker. Someone is going to pick him up and give this kid a chance. And NO I don’t know him. I will defiantly be making more trips. Oh. They also have a superb all day breakfast bar. Stop by for good casual dinning pleasure.

Over the past three years the management has changed just as many times. This then says the prices change just as much or more often. Breakfast has always included coffee excrpt on holidays or when ever a new manager comes in. Most of these restaurants have closed due to poor management or cleanliness. This location was open every day for breakfast but is now only open on weekends. Now offering breakfast everyday from lunch on. Seems to be struggling to keep the place going. Even weekends are showing less business. Can’t be the over cooked ot cold food or constant price changes not reflected on bill boards over register. Time to clean up open doors and follow billboards with pricing or close up and forget being in this business.

Food is really bad. Veggies on hot bar were not fresh at all. No fish on Friday either. Wait staff were chasing each other thru the restaurant and playing games. Could not get a refill on my drink. Had to move to other side of the restaurant.

The lobby floor and walls were very dirty, staff were eating and leaning against the counter right in front of guests waiting in line to pay. The beverage area was dirty, trash overflowing, and it was an off peak time. The restaurant floor was carpeted and dirty, most empty tables were piled with dirty dishes. The food line smelled like something was burning, much of the line was not wiped down or stirred/filled. We don’t often do a buffet and do understand what a reasonable standard would be, this was far from that. The two managers were conducting an interview at a table right next to guests. The gal working our section was pleasant and worked hard to get her section clean while were there. We won’t be returning…

First let me say that I love GC and my kids constantly ask to go. However this one is not what I would consider average. The location is quite dirty. It almost turned me off at first but I pressed on. Kids were happy, and the food tasted good and the service was great. Later that night however I discovered the reason why this got 2 stars. Lets just say the next time I need a colon cleaning this will be the spot to visit. Now I am sure that it was dirty.

I went for the first time on the weekend of the 4th of July. The food was good, the waiter was nice but she passed most of the time flirting with a guy on the table next to us. Before leaving I went to the bathroom and it has been the worst restroom ever, horrible smell, no soap, no way to dry your hands, and all the floor was real dirty. I can think that a portable restroom at a fair is cleaner and smells better than the golden corral bathroom.

First time there food was not good and cost more than it’s worth. Salad and deserts were good, service was good.

We like Golden Coral. We travel all over and eat at The Golden Coral about once a month. Most of the time the food is fresh and really good. Love the awesome pot roast. This store is very clean and the people there are personable and attentive.

If I could give it zero stars I would second reason first… the food is sub par very bland and never fresh. Third the service is as you would expect slow and unaccommodating. First reason and its a big FIRST. the waitress pours a dead fly in my cup from the tea pitcher. I tell her and she says it was probably in my cup. I told her I saw it pour from the pitcher. She says ok and walks away I watch her go to another table a fill 4 tea glasses I informed the table what had just happened. Asked for the manager told him what happened he says ok whats the problem then… really… really… so I asked for my money back and he pissily agreed he was a douche and a half!

I love Golden Corral with all my heart(and plaque) but this was the worst one I have ever been to. I got my hopes way to high for this crappy place. The staff was nice; However counting your tip money in front off the whole room while you eat is not cool. All of the food was either to cold or too hot, there was no in between. The prices were ridiculous for the quality of food here. Corporate should revoke this franchise owners license or something because as I understand he runs multiple subpar locations.

We were traveling thru Lubbock an stopped in here… I had always heard of this place but never tried and had heard comments that did not make this place too appealing… but it exceeded all of my expectations! There was plenty to choose from and they even cooked your steak to order. Everything from the rotisserie chicken to the Devil’s food cake had a wholesome, homemade taste of their own…

I call Golden Corral the Hog Trough Café. I like the salads and certain meat dishes. They seem to have the same menu items everytime that I go. Unfortunately, I don’t care to go that often because I tend to overeat.

This is a large buffet style restaurant with a varied selection. The all you can eat meal is about 7 dollars a person. The food quality is fine. Like any large chain, they cook for the masses — nothing is seasoned to heavily. The types of food are designed to appeal to most people. You won’t find anything exotic or new here. The lettuce was brown, and the salad bar offerings were unappetizing. Tomatoes were yellow, cucumbers, dry. Surprisngly, the spaghetti with meat sauce tasted good. It was saltier than homecooked, and had a simpler flavor proflie. Kids love the desert bar. Lots of average food for a low price. At the Golden Corral, your wallet is safe, but, beware, your waistline is at risk. Do your best not to over indulge.

Don’t judge me for reviewing this place. I have sort of a soft spot for Golden Corral, my dad loves it. Probably something about not having enough to eat growing up, coming to the states, and being able to eat all you want at a place with all sorts of different food about under 10 bucks. To me, Golden Corral sounds like a heaven for cows. Animal cows, not large people. A large ranch surrounded by a glistening fence made of the precious metal… no? Maybe just me. I think BFF and I are developing a tradition here, b/c we ate here at GC with his dad the last time I came to LBK, and here we are again. Like all GC’s this one offers all sorts of hot foods from pizza, grilled steaks, fried chicken, a taco bar, salad bar, soups, fruit bar, desserts, fish, all sorts of veggies, whew! The list goes on. I think there are more desserts here than I’ve seen at other GCs. I guess Lubbock people have got a sweet tooth. With so many kids running a muck, it’s hard to keep the food areas clean and the serving utensils nonsticky. They did alright keeping up here though. GC seriously has some of the best banana pudding ever. I’m not sure what it is, but it’s awesome, whichever one you go to. Sad for us for this trip because when we got up there it was heavily picked over. We didn’t see a refill on its way so we had to do without.

This is a very busy restaurant. I showed up on a Saturday around 2:30pm and the place was packed. The lines for the buffet circulated fairly quickly… except the times when parents wanted their kid to eat icky brussel sprouts and a brief discussion as to why dessert would be a much better choice started. Personally, I sided with the children on this one. This location runs dinner all day on Saturday; excellent for anyone looking for the grilled steak. And they don’t give out little tiny portions. This is Texas where you’re always offered at least an 8-ounce steak and it’s your choice to get a smaller piece. The staff is really friendly and helpful. They run around so much it’s difficult for them to clean-up empty tables quickly. If management added a porter to the dining room the floors/carpets would be much cleaner and tables would get cleared faster. The desert selection was great! An entire section dedicated to chocolate lovers. This location had several desserts and fruit selections not found at other Golden Corrals. This was a good place. Not sure when I’ll be back to Lubbock, but it will probably be considered when selecting a location for lunch.
