I’m a frequent customer. Every meal I’ve had was great — both breakfast and lunch. I enjoy the Greek Frittata and the lunch salads. Service has always been good, with normal Lubbock friendliness.

I have eaten at the Egg and I several times since they opened. Not a consistent restaurant. Foods either pretty good but over priced or just ridiculous. Ate there this morning and once again one of my poached eggs are over done and raw on the other. Plus I got a lot of water from the pot! Ranch potatoes didn’t have any flavor and were on the raw side when I asked for chrispy. Pictures are of second order of bad potatoes and second order watery eggs. Service is pretty good but when an order is messed up, I expect a manager to deliver or at least come to my table to apologize. That’s happened zero times. Oh and our drink carafe had batter or butter inside it.

I finally got around to trying the Egg and I and I was in no way disappointed after trying their blueberry pancake + 2 eggs over easy combo(which were both cooked to perfection). To be honest, I am not a huge«breakfast food» person, and would prefer a chorizo taco almost every time. However, the Egg and I was a pleasant change for my tastebuds. The pancakes were loaded with blueberries that actually tasted fresh with the most amazing whole blueberry topping. Sunday morning after the game everywhere was packed, but the Egg and I allows you to call ahead for seating(skipping the line when you’re starving for breakfast puts them above other places in my personal, exceptionally hungry opinion). I also loved ordering a coffee and getting a whole carafe so that I could refill it at my convenience. In all, if you want an extravagant, unique breakfast experience, don’t come here. If you want a simple awesome breakfast with fast service and typical great breakfast food that you can get into in a jiffy, I’d say this very well may be your best bet.

Food was really good, as was the service. About the same cost as IHOP but felt much more upscale. LOVED the Eggs Benedict and the green chile had a great flavor and perfect amount of heat. Will definitely be back!

In Lubbock for Texas Tech’s family weekend. First time at the Egg & I and it was fabulous. We had the cinnamon roll French toast with eggs and bacon and the pumpkin pecan waffles with eggs and bacon. Highly recommend!

Really an original breakfast joint. They have the freshest ingredients and mash ups that you don’t see at all of the other breakfast stops in town. I’m personally a fan of their humongous skillets, which range from steak, egg, and potatoe skillets to green chilli chicken. Their pancakes are fluffy, while also having healthier variations you can substitute. If you’re looking for the best eggs Benedict in town, come here! You won’t be disappointed.

Dropped in on a weekday for a solo lunch. The dining room was bustling. Took the server a few minutes to take my order. Ordered the lunch combo: Apple walnut chicken salad and a cup of soup. It took over 20 minutes for my waiter to bring out the food. He was very busy waiting on other tables, wonder if he forgot. The chicken salad and soup should have been out in a couple minutes since I’m sure the restaurant had both items premade. The soup of the day was potato. It was warm with bacon and cheese on top but needed salt and pepper added. The chicken salad had a little too much mayonnaise for my taste. I would have liked more diced apple too. I wanted to make this a regular spot for a fast business lunch, but service was slow, especially since I ordered items with no cooking time required. I will likely give this spot another try. Hard to find a restaurant with good salads close to the hospital. UPDATE: Gave this location another shot. Ordered the spinach chicken salad. Salad came out without pecans, raisins, cranberries or onions. What I got was spinach with 4 – 5 pieces of dry funny tasting chicken, a few apple slices, a few specks of blue cheese and bacon. Was in a hurry and ate what I was given. Was all but done with salad before the waitress checked in. She did have the manager come over, supposedly they mixed up my salad with someone else’s. It’s a toss up as to whether there really was a mix up or they didn’t have ingredients for the salad. Don’t think I will come here for lunch again.

I liked the food but there were some major flaws. First we found a living roach on our closed silverware second found hair in one of our plates. I’m not from here so I didn’t k ow much of the place but if I come back I might not really come back. My parents chose here but they weren’t satisfied.

Poor service, and a long time to wait for breakfast food. Oh and I think it’s a tad expensive as well.

I left a pretty bad, but fair, review on a location from San Antonio. I decided to give this location a try since it was a couple of hundred miles away. It was packed for Sunday brunch, but the wait time was only 10 minutes. Not bad. But our food didn’t come out until 40ish minutes later. And we still had to wait to eat because we were never given silverware. I could tell the waitress felt embarrassed so we didn’t hassle her. However, when we were paying, we overheard a gentleman who was sitting at another table asking the hostess for silverware because he had asked his waitress 3 times. So not sure what was going on.

Not bad food. Better places to go for breakfast and brunch for a lot let expensive. Not worth spending that much. You pay for the environment which is really clean and that’s all it has going for it.

My boyfriend and I have been coming here for about 2 years. It has always been our favorite breakfast spot in lubbock. The service was once great, the food never came out wrong, but not so much these days. The past 3 times we have been there, our food has came out different than we ordered, and for some reason we are always left without silverware and syrup. We wait a while for food, then can’t eat because we need silverware and syrup. This has happened on busy days(understandable) and slow days. We usually go before work so we are in a hurry, so I think we will have to find somewhere that doesn’t take as long. We ended up at McDonald’s for breakfast the other day because we knew 40 mins wasn’t enough time for egg and I :( but when we have time to spare we will always go back to the egg and I because the food is so great. If you like pancakes, get the apple cinnamon granola pancake! It’s so good and I don’t think I’ve ever ordered anything different. Boyfriend tries something different often but he usually sticks to the Veracruz chicken omelette.

Best breakfast place on the westside. Go on a weekday and you can get a table and food quickly. I like the hash skillet. Great coffee if you enjoy it without all the fluff and sprinkles.

I’ve had awful service every time I’ve been. also, 2 out of 3 times they have messed up my regular eggs Benedict, ending up in a free meal. the last time I went they gave me about 10 little potatoes as a side and I’m not even sure how that qualifies as a side. they do have a great selection of items on their menu and hopefully I will be back to try more.

The food was ok it wasn’t the best, and the service was horrible she kept forgetting everything and it would take 10 minutes to bring refills. We didn’t even get silverware. I wouldn’t say I would never go here again cause it’s not bad but they need to work on there service

Staff was AWESOME, from the hostess, to the manager, and especially our waiter! Everyone was SUPER friendly! Most of the food was awesome. I ordered the biscuits and gravy which came out super thick. Didn’t look like the ones I saw in other review pics. BUT the manager took it off our bill, I’ll chalk it up to a bad batch. Hubby ordered the breakfast burrito which was pretty tasty, and the kiddos pancakes were delish! I ordered a side of the green chile and smothered over my potatoes and eggs, totally didn’t even miss my biscuits. Had plenty of other delicious food to eat!

Was in lubbock for business. Thought I grab breakfast. The service was friendly and attentive. I had the Athena scramble the country potatoes it came with were over cooked, it tasted like chips. Other than that everything else was good. I would like to try their lunch specials.

Food was tasty and the service was excellent. The eggs though, on the Santa Fe plate seemed to have a consistency of powdered eggs. Otherwise it was a very tasty plate. The only complaint about crab cakes were that the potatoes seemed undercooked. Coffee is great though and the servings are plentiful.
