Didn’t enjoy the food nor the atmosphere. Other people clearly like it but it was not for me.

Love this place, a different take on a taco and always a chill spot to grab a drink. The bar staff is great they move quick and are cool people. Sunday mimosas are the thing to do and post up out side and catch some rays!

Now one of my favorite places. I’m working my way thru menu and everything I have tried is great.

This has got to be one of my favorite places to eat… When Tech isn’t in session. Trailer park, crossroads, green chili pork. They’re just all so good. ANDTHEQUESO. I have yet to find a queso that measures up.

Excellent gourmet tacos! The republican and the democrat tacos were delicious! They also have Mexican coca cola! Lots of taco options to choose from. Highly recommended!

Of the couple times I’ve been here, the service has been terrible(one person checking out at least 25 people), and the tacos have been mediocre. One time my favorite taco, the trailer park, was on the verge of being cold. Everything tastes like it was made 3 hours beforehand. Every other torchys is wonderful, just not this one.

Love Torchy’s. Everything I have been here the food is consistent. Love the Diablo Sauce!

I love the feel of this place, reminds me of being back in Austin. Don’t let the long line deter you from trying it, you’ll be at the counter faster than you’d think. My favorites are the Mr. Orange, and the Independent.

I had previously visited the Torchy’s in Baylor & decided to try out the one here in Lubbock. I got the Brushfire which is jerk chicken, mango, cilantro & sour cream. It originally comes with jalapeños & Diablo sauce but unless you enjoy SUPER spicy I would recommend leaving them off. It was THE best taco I’ve gotten from them so far. Always order you a side of queso. Torchy’s has hands down the best queso I’ve had. That’s all you need cause the portions are generous. Go on a nice day & sit on the patio. I loved it.

If you live in Lubbock and you haven’t been to Torchy’s yet, you’re wrong. Yes they’re a chain, but don’t hate on them for that(what are you, from East Austin or something? Gosh). They have some pretty awesome tacos. Personal favorites are the Crossroads(Brisket, Bacon, Onions, Cilantro, Sauce) and the Brushfire(Jerk Chicken, Mangos, Cilantro, Diablo Sauce). Their rotating selections of tacos of the month are always awesome as well, but the T.O.T.M. tends to be a bit on the pricey side, so plan accordingly. They are close to campus, and they have great drink specials, so they’re usually pretty overrun with the college crowd, which can be frustrating. If you go on an off hour(or for breakfast because breakfast tacos are proof that God loves us and the world will be okay in the end) then the line isn’t too bad. Even if you do happen to catch a long line, it moves fast, hop on in.

Torchy’s is good. I like it. It is tacos and stuff. It is good to get your fancy taco fix here. Their Street corn side is really great and I have never seen anyone else order it. I usually get the Mr. Orange. This taco has blackened salmon topped with a grilled corn and black bean relish, queso fresco and cilantro. Drizzled with Avocado salsa, then served with a wedge of lime. It is really fresh and light tasting, but fills me up. They also don’t get enough credit for brunch. They have yummy mimosas and tacos made of waffles. If those two things don’t get you excited, well, then order something else! They have a rotating seasonal taco of the month to get excited about too! I really do like the fact that they have the word«damn» on the wall just because it is funny to see such a thing in conservative Lubbock. It is like having a part of Austin in Lubbock with me. It is really conveniently located for all the college crowd too.

This was a fun place to go for lunch. I got two tacos, the half order of chips and queso and a soft drink for just over $ 11. The tacos were good, and met my expectations. The queso was really good also. They serve breakfast tacos all day too. The guy working at the counter was very helpful to me and had some suggestions, because you could tell I hadn’t been there before by the way I was looking at the menu. I even had someone in front of me in line start making recommendations also. Seems like a friendly town and a friendly place.

I want to love this Torchy’s. I really do. After all, I live across the street. However, I do not. It is mediocre at best. In regards to that comment, I am a simple taco kinda gal… I like meat, cheese, and basic veggies. Keep fried stuff away from my tacos. I think Torchy’s is great drunk food… particularly on 6th street… the one in Lubbock always leaves me nostalgic.(That is not to say I don’t go here for a margarita every now and then, but that is becoming more and more sporadic). Let’s address the atmosphere(after all, I’m a lover of a good atmosphere): the bartenders are pretty deuschy. I mean, if you’re in the«bro club», step on up. The girl bartenders will flirt with you until you tip big and the guys will«bro it up» with you(but I’ve noticed they laugh at almost everyone when they leave, which I don’t really like in my bartenders). My star justification: while I am not a big Torchy’s fan, I know a LOT of ppl who are. I think the one here in Lubbock leaves so much to be wanted. However, everything I’ve ever ordered is consistent. In all, ok place for a drink. However, would I wait in line at this one like I would for the one in Austin??? Absolutely not.

I wish this was an updated review, because you would be able to see the way I really enjoyed this place before. My last experience was very regrettable. I usually visit with a friend and we enjoyour tradition by getting the same old things and sneaking our diet away at the soda fountain station. My order is two Mr. Pinks, and her’s is the Shrimp tacos. I love my Mr. Pinks and I think they’re a great concept. My only flaw before then was how badly the tortillas stayed together all the time and the lack of side sauce. But now, things have just changed quite alot. The portions were very much reduced. I used to get a cut of fish before and now only chucks to each portion of the taco? I used to be able to make 4 smaller tacos with the double portion of Mr. Pink’s tuna, but now barely even that. But that’s not the worst, that probably what helped me get through this meal! Once I took a bite there was something VERY wrong. My mouth was on fire, not an enjoyable salsa type of way but a fire that can only come about due to over seasoning. My mouth experienced as much pain as eyes might when sprayed with pepper spray. It was completely inedible. Yes, the taco is usually spicy but not unenjoyable to every degree possible. I’m originally from mexico, so I do spicy for FUN but this was different. Why would you do that to people? I took a couple other bites just to make sure it wasn’t just my mind tricking me but– nope there was no denying something had been put into my food to make it 100% less enjoyable and unsatisfactory. I was very dissapointed to not be able to eat my food as it should have been.

Tasty but not worth $ 3 or $ 4 per taco at all. Recommendations The democrat taco with chicken instead of Barbacoa with extra limes-4 stars The potato, egg and cheese was nothing to write home about totally over priced — 1 star The pork green chili taco not much flavor– 1 star

The best taco bar ever! Counter service to order and get a number, sit down and wait for the magic! The tacos have fun names I think one of my was a trashy trailer park. I have had lunch and breakfast here, both were amazing. If Sparky(ASU) would let them they should open one in Phoenix!

The queso and guacamole are great for sharing. However, I enjoy authentic Mexican or Tex-Mex when enjoying tacos. Perhaps I have not found my go-to option at Torchys, I am always willing to test out this theory. I will say that the Diabo Sauce is a staple in my house and I must always grab a bottle or two when I am traveling through Texas. It goes great on anything. Not a soda drinker, usually, but I always get one here. Refreshing craft soda without the heavy feeling of regret later.

First time to this restaurant chain. Unique menu with different flavors for different tastes(mild to spicy). Staff was very nice. Food came out in a decent amount of time. Everything tastes very fresh. I had the Chicken Fajita taco & the Republican sausage taco. Both were great. Also had some of their house salsa which had a really good flavor. Only complaint was I’m a Dr. Pepper guy & they have only Maine Root colas. But I certainly recommend giving it a try.
