I dined here twice while on a 5 day vacation with my family. First meal was the Duck Quesadilla which also had black beans, corn and a spicy aioli. It was good enough and the portion was generous. Second meal was the Ahi Tuna sandwich –sans the roll– so really it was a platter. It was nicely presented on a bed of arugula, roasted red and yellow peppers w/balsamic drizzle. I liked it but maybe if it had a little more kick– something with lime or ginger? Overall, I think it’s a good place especially if you’re staying in Solitude Village.

This restaurant is located in the Solitude section of the Okemo Mountain Resort in Ludlow, VT. The idea is to have some fine dining options for lunch or dinner during your snowday runs at Okemo Mt. I ordered the risotto with chicken. The vegetables were baby carrots and wild mushrooms for that week. I liked the risotto and mushrooms. There was an herbiness to the dish that made it very pleasant for me. The risotto was well cooked, as well. The rice stood up when you piled it together and wasn’t too overcooked. The chicken was average, overcooked cafeteria chicken though. I could’ve ordered the dish without it and it would’ve been better, lol. A couple of people ordered the Kobe burgers. They all had their orders overcooked. Med-rare came out med. Med came out well-done. Well-done came out almost inedible. The chicken wings were disgusting. People took one bite, and litterally spat it out in their napkins. The French onion soups were good. Well made with good flavor. A nice thing for a snowday. All-in-all it was okay. I’ve had better at ski resorts, but I’ve also had much, much worse. The«fine dining» thing doesn’t really work if your day-to-day chefs can’t keep up with the original chef’s cooking. FOODIENOTE: If you overcook Kobe and burn off all of the fat, then you lose the point of having a Kobe burger… at that point its just regular ground beef. Minus ½ star for that.
