As far as slope-side dining goes, Epic has few or no equals in Vermont. I eat here almost every day I’m skiing at Okemo, and never regret it. The menu is eclectic and designed to please any mood. The menu ranges for lighter dishes(salads, vegetarian choices) all the way to the usual suspects. You can find your Vermont farm-to-table salads, soups and dishes, Moroccan dishes, a Goat-based curry, «Umami burger», etc… and yes a menu with food from more than one continent is usually a recipe for disappointment, but these guys pull it off.

Worst service on planet Earth. Food looks better than it tastes. Time for a makeover.

Great Bloody Mary’s and service at the bar, however, I am not a fan of the modern, wants to be high end set up for my mid mountain lodge break. Mountain lodges should be warm and toasty. Inviting spots for one and two plankers to escape the cold for a quick break, hearty food and drink. This large spot boasts an amazing circular fireplace for just that purpose, however they have taken away from the vibe with the otherwise modern décor and efforts to serve high end food which somewhat misses. The food is OK, but a bit on the pricier side. I would forgo dining hear and opt for drinks at the bar.

Pretty good food. Hot chocolate was pretty good but I’m pretty sure it was generic Nestle/Swiss Miss. Can’t beat the location considering it’s right at the base of the slopes. Service was really really slow. There were about 20 tables being served by one poor waitress! It took forever. We asked for extra napkins and got an eye roll… sorry we were trying to eat at your restaurant?! Didn’t really care though because we were here for a quick refuel in between skiing and not for a luxurious dining experience.

We went to Epic via the SnowCat offering they had at Jackson Gore. An enjoyable experience. The food was quite good, as was the service. It was pricey but we enjoyed it. Good to find a place with good food near a ski resort.

The Duck Quesadilla was full of beans and no duck. The fries were good. The décor was decent but not great. OK place to eat while on the ski slope, but the duckless quesadilla was a grave disappointment.

I ski a lot. And I’m used to the crappy, over-priced food that you get on the slopes. Epic stands apart from the rest. It’s a real restaruant that you can enjoy in your ski boots. I usually get one of their salads(Caesar is huge, nicoise is fantastic). They also have great Kobe beef hamburgers. On a cold day, nothing beats getting a table next to the fireplace, and warming up while drying your hat and gloves.
