I’ve been to CaptainD’s 2 or 3 times in the past & each time I say I’m not going back. But, I did it again today. I ordered the Shrimp (Tapilia) Scampi Platter & cheesecake bites (they are good) but when I’ve gotten scampi in the past the shrimp was in a mixture of the sauce, here they put maybe 2 Tlbs. of sauce in a container & by the time you get home, the sauce has moved around in the bag & part of it sticks to the container. There was a bed of plain rice, piece of tipilia, a few pieces of cooked shrimp on each side & by the time you rake out the sauce, you might have enough to put it on 3 little pieces of shrimp. I have only been there once and have had a single item from their menu, the Captain Sandwich, but it was good and well prepared. The other reviewer is right though, in that the hoagie-​sized fish sandwich, fries and a coke totaled $ 6.90. (There is an 11% food tax in Lynchburg– isn’t that outrageous?) That’s a little steep for my wallet. The rest of the items were much more expensive, but then, it is seafood, not beef and chicken so I guess some price premium is expected. They have inside dining and a drive-​thru.

Good food, but they have gotten pricey in recent years and cut back on portion size.
