Optimum Performance

Ladies, this is the place to take your car if you want honest, trustworthy service. Their prices are so reasonable. You can count on good services without inflated, unnecessary work. I sent my daughter to Optimum Performance. That says it all.

My car wasn’t starting easily for months and I kept saying something about it (to a different shop) while getting my oil changed. The general response was, «troubleshooting will cost this much an hour,» and I didn’t have a bunch of money to spend on something that wasn’t fixing the problem. Eventually, what I feared came. The car just wouldn’t start.
I spent some time over the phone with a friend from another state diagnosing the problem and we decided it was the starter although I still had questions about it being the relay… (Because darn, I couldn’t actually hit that starter) Well, I knew that if I had the right tools… sure, I could fix this and properly diagnose, but I didn’t and it was raining. The thought of taking a bus all over town to gather parts for the likely fix was making me nervous. Time being money I decided to find someone nearby to help.
So, I called a number of shops and Optimum was the one who was willing to listen to my personal troubleshooting experience. The owner even came by to look at my car, tried to start it, and helped me find reasonable towing! I was given a quote over the phone to fix the starter and asked, «what if it’s not?» I was assured that if the problem wasn’t obvious within a reasonable few minutes they would let me know if troubleshooting costs were necessary. This made me feel comfortable because they actually treated me (a girl) like I understood mechanics. When I went to pay my bill it was a few dollars less than the quote.
The crew at Optimum Performance did a great job taking my car problem away without an unreasonable cost, listening to my concerns, and giving me a good reason to drive away feeling like someone cared. Thank you!

I’ve struggled to find a mechanic for years since moving to the area, but I think I’m finally ready to settle down with this place. I’ve got two ‘problem child’ older cars that love to break down, but they’ve finally learned to behave after a trip to Optimum.
Craig not only was able to fix them, he also pointed out mistakes made by my last mechanic and took the time to make it right. The price couldn’t have been better, either. My working class wallet breathes a sigh of relief.
I would recommend him to anyone, and love the work he’s done. :)

We had a check engine light on that another mechanic said they could not «read» … I called and took the van to Optimum Performance and they got me in the next day, troubleshot the issue and fixed it. They also did a general inspection and did not note any other pending maintenance issues. Their location is super convenient (right by the Boys & Girls Club where I take my daughter for summer camp, and 5 minutes from my home). And, Aaron was super nice. Good stuff. Keep up the good work.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE! W took a truck in to get a problem diagnosed. They never once called us for two weeks. When we called them they said they had not even looked at it yet. Two more weeks passed and still no call. So I went in person to speak with the owner and in two seconds, he told me he didn’t want to do it and shuffled me out the door. He was very rude and never even said I am sorry for the inconvenience. If I could give him no stars I would!

These guys are honest, smart, trustworthy… yes talkin bout someone that works on cars… wow! They have been ready to help ANYTIME we’ve needed them. Awesome. Prices are fair too. AND we live in Seatac.

I’ve used Craig and his crew several times in the past two years. I was referred by a friend and have never been disappointed. They are friendly, respectful, and most important know what they are doing.
I am a cheapskate and generally a do-​it-​yourselfer, so I hate paying out the nose for things I don’t need. They are great to just do the things that need doing, let me know some things I can do on my own, and give me a heads up about anything which might be coming up in the future.
I was referred in, and refer my friends now. Treat them nice, they’re real people too!

Craig has been working on my cars since I was 18, 15 yrs later he still does. As a woman, it’s hard finding a mechanic who you can trust. He’s always given me a fair deal, been real about the cars issues, and oddly enough I can say his shop as supported me through life’s highs and lows and never once took advantage. Would recommend him to any of my friends.

Honest, trustworthy, timely… These aren’t typically words associated with auto repair shops. However, Optimum Performance is an exception. I have had all my car repairs done by Optimum Performance for the past 22 years. Craig is honest and straightforward with what needs to be done to keep my cars in good shape. I have never had any issue with any work that they have completed. I am so thankful that I know a repair shop that I can count on. I have had my kids cars towed there and dropped at the door, knowing that it will be taken care of. If you want peace of mind and want to know that you will not be taken advantage of — this is the place to go. He has never let us down. I recommend him to anyone I talk to that needs work done on their cars. Seriously, why take the risk of dishonest dealers who look to make money off you. Go to someone who takes pride in his work and his reputation!

So my husband went here a couple times for some basic stuff before and liked the guy. I went once for something basic and didn’t like the guy…
Fast forward to this month and my husband’s care fails emissions. We weren’t surprsied as the check engine light was on, and frankly that’s the way that they run things now.
He took it to this place, despite my pleas to go elsewhere, and when we went to pick it up it had two additional error lights on than it did before. We drop it back off, they say they will take a look at it, and I’m called by my husband the next day to pick it up and take it to emissions. I do, and the same lights are STILL on, AND it FAILS emissions. $ 270 later and it still fails? WTF!!! Emissions tells us that we need to go back to the man and tell him that he didn’t fix the problem stated on his invoice. Hubby calls him back and now he is claming the lights were on the whole time. BULL. What a crock. Now we are stuck with lights still on, $ 270 poorer, and a guaranteed failed emissions in two years. Thanks a lot dude.
