Super 8 Madera

Manager is nice but this place is a dump. Housekeeping did not clean our room, when we told them they just denied it. I also found out my bed had BEDBUGS and I got covered in bites. They didn’t comp our room or compensate my discomfort at all, and denied all responsibility. Would never return to this place voluntarily.

I was to tired to drive. Just ate at the Restaurant next door. I go online see the Super 8 rate. I don’t book it, I just walk over. I noticed the upkeep of the property was exceptional. The owner checked me in. The office/​breakfast area was small, but he’d upgraded everything. tables seating, windows, door frames the floor! My goodness. I saw the pride. He quoted me the online price, I did not have to hagle with him. The smoking room had no odor the pillows (4 big ones) bedding, towels, bathroom, coffee maker all not motel like. The carpet no odor no stains it was unbelievable. The furniture and TV very outdated but great premium channels and the remote worked! Needless to say as a Comedian (Bigg Weezy) I stay in luxury Hotels all the time, but for a regular spot like this it’s my new stop going up north. Btw not a bad breakfast!

The office staff was very friendly. I usually stay at hotels, but needed 2 rooms this time so we decided to try a motel. It was affordable. I checked the beds, mattresses, bathroom before getting comfortable. Everything was very clean.

It was the one of a few who had rooms that were reasonably priced. It was also my first time staying at a super 8 since Holiday Inn was all booked. The room didn’t smell pleasant but that was least of my worries the carpet was sticky. The television Is old school. I didn’t mind since I was not going to be in the hotel the majority of the day. I tried to get ready but the shower was brutal, it was very temperamental. It will trick you into thinking its fine but as soon as you jump in, it will go from extremely cold to extremely hot. I have never experienced a cold hearted shower. Lmao

Not all Super 8’s are created equal. We’ve stayed at Super 8 in several places. This one not their top of the line. My partner went into the office and the office folks were watching something to do with pornography. Hmmm… not a prude here. Like porn but maybe not appropriate in the work place?
Hotel room was sort of ok. The bed was old old old. Did I say old?
I take Tylenol to help with uncomfortable beds.
As always… judge for yourself.
Oh…don’t use the soap bar found above the light in the bathroom. It has hair on it. Wink!

Dirty! For $ 69 I could have done better. Here’s what I observed: room had flies in upon arrival, no bed bugs (I always check), found a towel with makeup on it, in-​vacuumed floor with stained carpet, spots ok black mold in shower, used and hairy bar of soap on top of bathroom light, speckles of dried soda or something on the light and walls. Then there’s the dated furniture, unplugged fridge and microwave. If they spent an hour cleaning and used Tilex and Windex this place would be less gross.
Internet was free but slower than a 56k modem

I dont know who in there right mind would rate this dump well, the bed was so shot the springs were practically popping through the sheets. I know this is a good price $ 50 but, I would really suggest spending another 50 and staying at the holiday inn. I think this is a common destination for drug dealers and prostitutes. I literally would describe this place as the perfect destination for a trucker and a hooker.

Visiting from the Bay area, I really received a very unwelcoming vibe from this guy at the motels office. My family had just met at perko’s a familiy run café with good prices, good food and excellent staff. Anyway I was talking a walk down the fence line after a hearty breakfast scouting out the motel. Then I was asked if I was a policeman? by a guy halfway out the office door.
It seemed bizarre as my attire did not reflect any thing of the law enforcement nature. He was not happy with my presence on the property and demanded that I answer his question. I initially responded, Do I look like a policeman? anyway, I was expecting the proverbial shotgun warning next. not real good promotion technique for those trying to attract business from out of town such as ourselves. Do not think I will return or recommend.

I travel to Madera several times a year, and recently decided to try this motel. Its been all redone, and very nice I might add. Its clean digs and even gets you a tv, coffee maker, Microwave and a fridge for a great price. Shoot, not many of the so called HIGH PRICED places offer all that!
The manager was super friendly, and I just cant say anymore.
Sure, the rooms are smaller, but you cant beat it for the price. The only issue is the bed is a bit hard for my taste. But, hey. I can live with that. Motels are to sleep in… not live or party, lol!
I love the fact it was SOOO clean. Big plus in my book when traveling with children. The hotel staff said I could have saved more booking straight away with them, which I will do next time, rather than going through another third party.
All and all… clean, NEAT, comfortable and excellent staff.
Will do business again. A+++
Oh…and not to forget, they do have a nice place to eat right next door. Its called Perkos. great good at great prices.

Motel is located too close to Highway 99 — there was traffic noise all night long. Rooms are fairly small and furniture is too large for room, giving a crowded feeling. Having the small refrigerator and microwave in each room was a bonus, though.
Motel staff here was very good, in particular the manager was very helpful and friendly.
Best attribute of this motel is that it is located only about 2 hours or less from the entrance to Yosemite National Park.
Perko’s restaurant on same property has basic, simple food but serving staff was excellent.
