Wife and I went over to Social on 6 for our first time and simply perfect. Staff right from the get go greets you and are truly courteous and professional. Great laid back feel with a nice modern warm feel. Kayla was our server and can’t say enough great things about her and was always there to make sure we were enjoying our meals. Food was done just right, super fresh, perfectly seasoned, not over salted and exactly like we wanted it. Portions are perfect and not over priced. Love that they get everything out timely and yet do not rush you. Think it was the owner/manager who came by to make sure all was well and a real sweet heart chatting with us. We are lucky to have some great restaurants here in Mahopac and S6 right up there with the best of them.

Came in for a simple meal. Cocktails were great! Soup was too salty and had the essence of Campbell’s with added cream. My medium rare burger was well done. I could tell it was a pre pressed patty probably previously frozen due to the gelatinous texture. My desert came out not as described on the menu tasting like an open stick of butter that sat for 24 hours in the onion drawer that has been died brown. Waitress was great, friendly and responsive. Cocktails were great!!! Food is disgusting

We use to visit this place every couple of weeks and it was good but since they changed chefs they are trying to market a higher end crowd. Prices went up and food quality down I ordered the lobster macaroni and cheese and it was horrible. Pasta over cooked especially it’s looks like they bake the cheese under a broiler. My husband got the chicken pot pie. What a joke. It looks like chicken creamy soup with a pillsbury biscuit on top. We all know a pot pie has a bottom crust and top with the stuff in the middle. This had a biscuit floating on top. The only good thing was our waitress. I think her names was Cathy or Cat. Not sure. But she was pleasant. Feel sorry for staff when you have an arrogant chef which by the way when we left he was on back deck smoking. Great having nicotine as an added slice to my food.

Went for the first time last night! We were greeted by a very nice young man who let us choose where we would like to sit. Our waitress was terrific, she had a great sense of humor and was well trained. I had the lobster tail with vegetables and risotto and it was delicious. A bonus was that it came with a salad. My husband had the strip steak and hew was very happy too! We will def go back, actually next week for lunch!

What a BIG disappointment! Where to begin… we ordered apps for our party of 4… we had fried calamari and crab cakes. Sadly, there is nothing to highlight at all. For dinner we ordered the strip steak, the seafood sauté, the lobster mac and cheese, and the lobster pot pie. Let’s not even discuss the pot pie didn’t show up bc the order went in as ravioli(it was delivered 10 minutes after the fact and not worth the wait) — the food was without seasoning and seriously — tasteless. The menu looks and sounds delicious — the actual food — SOOO Disappointing. Oh, and btw — not even a complimentary drink for the error. Maybe its an off night but if you’re looking for customer service, seasoning of food, and good tasting food… keep looking.

We four were there for the first time last week. We had the best waitress(Caitlin) She was very professional, attentive and always there at the appropriate times. All the servers looked like they were very professional; still, a treat. The restaurant is very comfortable looking and nice to be in. The bread basket was good but needed another. Liked a lot of what we four had, but wished for $ 24 there was a little more lobster in the signature dish, Lobster Pot Pie. It was very impressive but would have liked less potatoes and more lobster. The French onion soup was great as was the salad that accompanied the entrée. The other entrees were also very good. One had the Pasta with Burrata and another had the signature dish, Stuffed Lobster Tail with crabmeat. And another one enjoyed was the House Salad with the steak added on… needed extra dressing. Coffee and Cappuccino was very good but for the price wished we would be asked if we liked another cup(with the decaf, not the cappuccino of course) We all liked what we had. I seem to be the only one that wanted to go back and try that stuffed lobster tail. My friend raved about it, but these three women said they won’t come back as there was cheaper elsewhere nearby with better special$. (I’ll be back)

Stopped if for lunch last week and although it was 15 minutes before they opened, we were waived in and we sat at the bar and planned to have a couple of burgers. After hearing the specials and seeing the menu we ended up ordering filet mignon, clams, lobster and butternut squash soup. go figure. we were hungry. Everything was perfect and we really had an awesome meal and a few good drinks. Bartender was new and good to chat with. We actually couldn’t believe how good the food it was — and definitely the best butternut squash soup I ever had. We thought the prices were really good too. So a week later we wanted to go back because we were in the area but it was too early and they weren’t open. Ended up spending a few dollars more at the carriagehouse up the street for a lousy lunch of burgers and fish and chips, not lobster and steak!

Food was good but the bar psrt just serms so boring. I heard frm adult friends as on Unilocal some food setvice is bad anf with attitude problems. When you have non caring servers(young) they just dnt care. The customers feel they shoulfnt ask for anything cause of the dirty looks and the«uhhhhh“ok’s like ur bothering the staff. I didnt see this i just heard it frm responsible adults so im sure they are not makin it up. onsite managers sjould be out on the floor oversee and direct there staff if ppl see issues. Servive with a smile is very important not a mug as if ur bothering the staff. If they need more ketchup dnt say its on ur plate in a tiny cup which i read on here. Just get more ketchup for the customer, its not hard to do and ur tip depends on ur service. And if theres numerous complaints the ppl are going elsewhere.

Have nothing bad to say about this place. I’ve eaten here several times and it is great every time. They have amazing specials each week, and great discounts in the local clipper magazine. I’ve never had a waitress with an attitude, or that was rude. Always smiling and super friendly. The only thing I have to say negative is the water is not filter and has a nasty taste.

Had dinner here tonight, 6 adults 3 children 8 and under. I don’t know why anyone would give this great place a negative review. We were seated promptly, served bread and dipping oil. The bread was excellent, slightly toasted Italian sourdough. The hostesess and wait staff could not have been more accommodating or courteous. I wanted to sample one of their artisan beers, our waitress was more than happy to provide tasting samples until I found what I liked. Our order was taken promptly, appetizers came out quickly, fried calamari, French onion soup seared salmon. Everything was delicious. They took care of the children’s orders quickly, big help. Most of us ordered the baby back ribs. They were some of the best I’ve ever tasted. The fries were hot crispy and so tasty. Coffee was fresh bold and flavorful, the desserts were a perfect ending. Warm apple turnover, zabaglione with fresh fruit. What a great meal! By the way, we sat right in front of the stage, there was a singer playing guitar. He was never too loud, we could converse with no difficulty at all. I would highly recommend this fine establishment. Unfortunately we will not return as we are leaving the area soon and moving south.

Not a fan and nothing upscale about it. Went here on a Saturday night. There was a live band playing and the singer sounded like a dying cat. I don’t understand why these small restaurant have live bands that are so overwhelmingly loud. It really takes away from the restaurant.(BTW I was ready to turn around and walk out but wanted to give the place a try). The special menu looked fancy but I’m sorry to say the food did not meet the menu’s expectations or mine. The bread look like toasted wonder bread, the swordfish was dry, the polenta was old and hard, the seafood salad on top was mushy and awful, the broccoli rabe was ok if it wasn’t for the 10 pieces of garlic I had to scrape out. I hate to give bad reviews but sorry, they need a real chef or just turn this place into a bar with live music.

The service was fine, but that’s where it ends. We went here based on their online menus, turns out the online menu is wrong. The menu we did get(mine had what looked like a cigarette burn on it) was missing much of what their web site said they had. I had the lamb chop special which tasted suspiciously like what I would guess a road kill cat might taste like. My wife had the penne vodka, she is not a gourmand by any stretch, and she compared it to pipe insulation in a bad pink sauce. I also had the New England clam chowder, those clams died in vain.

We had an unexpectedly good dinner here after we(again) couldn’t get a reservation at Chop House. The french onion soup was the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve had lot’s! My shrimp dish was delicious with large shrimp in a garlic wine sauce. The wings were mediocre. The burger was very good and delicious. Beer selection wasn’t large but there were some good craft choices. It was a Saturday night and the live music was nice. We will definitely go with friends again.

We go here at least two times a week. We have never been disappointed with our meals. Service is great and friendly. The Chef comes out and talks to you and is very accomadating. He will make changes for you willingly. When the season for oyster comes you MUST have the fried oysters. Delicious. It’s comfortable and you can enjoy your meal without being rushed. I would recommend this restaurant.

What a nice restaurant My husband and I went here with my parents for my mom’s birthday. The food was great — in my dad’s word’s, «the best nachos ever.» My caesar salad with shrimp was incredible. My husband loved his fish and chips, and my parents really enjoyed their ribs(they took half home to have for lunch tomorrow.) What a wonderful restaurant to have in Mahopac.

Very cute little restaurant. We were there on a Monday night and while it wasn’t packed it did have plenty of patrons. Two of us were quite happy with two appetizers each. Wine list was reasonable. The food pros and cons: Steamers were little necks not steamers. I’m a stickler. The broth was a bit too salty. The clams did taste good though. The mussels were good and the sautéed calamari were delicious. Nice job on the ahi. The wasabi sauce was good, but I like mine with more wasabi kick. I’m sure if I’d have asked for some on the side they would have accommodated. The service was friendly and we did not feel rushed at all. Overall a good experience. Will head back soon for some entrees.

I have never had a bad meal at this new place in Mahopac. I think their menu includes all needs for different patrons. Their choice of beers and wines is very good. I like that they have outside tables during the warm months. Their prices are reasonable compared to other restaurants in the area. Give it a try.

Came here recently on a Sunday night. There were only a few other people in the restaurant besides us. We ordered the special for the night the braised lamb ravioli and fish tacos. The raviolis were delicious and so were the tacos except they were a little oily and messy but still good! Then we shared the fish and chips which were very good. The best part of the meal was the zabaglione! It was so fresh and creamy you must try this dessert!

Not a bad place at all. I had easily the best fish taco’s you can find in the area. The beer selection is better than every other bar’s in Mahopac. It tends to change maybe monthly, I’ve seen local Newburgh beer on tap before. I also had the wings here at their hottest heat and they were very hot and enjoyable. The nacho’s are piled high and stacked with real cheese. Went here once and a crack head was tending the bar messing up all out credit card charges so minus one star for that blunder. When Chophouse is too crowded on any given night I’ll continue to use Social as my second choice for a good beer and appetizer.

Why 1 star? To see how this bllsht site will filter this awesome review I’m about to make. And we all know everyone loves bad reviews! So hahah tricked ya. Great bottle of wine for a great restaurant price Calamari was good and tender Crab cakes were all crab. Excellent Chipotle burger and social burger cooked to perfection. I usually don’t like brioche rolls but… Really nice place with even nicer service. So glad I finally get to get fatter with good food for a great price There ya go.
