Did this really close?! :-O The food was soooo good!

First visit. Went there today for the lunch buffet. Great price! Wasn’t a huge buffet but plenty of options. Appeared very clean. LOVED the green beans and crab Rangoon. Fried chicken/wings were crispy and freshly fried. They even had French fried and chicken nuggets for the kids. Nuggets had a couple nuggets and they were white meat through and through, rather than some nuggets with odd shades of grey. I also appreciated the orange slices, though I kind of wish they had more variety of fruit but otherwise everything was great. I’ll be visiting and ordering from them in the future. I discovered this place on a trip to neighboring Domino pizza and saw their sign for lunch buffet.

The lunch buffet is great. Definitely one of the things I miss most about living in Manassas. I used to go almost every week and now I eat there whenever I visit the area.

This is my go to Chinese restaurant. One thing I really enjoy is the flexibility of requesting little changes in my food. We like to order combination fried rice, no egg(wife) chicken, beef and pork. Chicken with vegetables or beef broccoli always good plus the coupons(free lo has been many times the reason of my going back. This is a family own business and they have been really pleasant with me.

This is our preferred neighborhood chinese food spot. They are awesome about honoring their coupons too. The fried rice is always consistently good. Any of the scallop dishes are great too. The Mongolian beef dish is good too. The delivery is quick and the delivery folks are always nice. No complaints here. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is due to meat quality(chicken and beef). This could be improved.

This has turned into our«go-to» neighborhood Chinese restaurant. The food has definitely gotten better in the past year. Some of our favorites dishes going are: 1. Mongolian Beef(be warned its pretty salty) but what a flavor! 2. Fried Dumplings with the dipping sauce are the best around. They have great combo lunch & dinner meals that are easy on the wallet, and bad for the waist line — just saying. Also, they have some great coupons(free food offers) on their take out menus. I like the free General Tso’s when you order $ 25 or more.

This place is getting 3 stars, not necessarily for food quality. The food is relatively cheap for Chinese. Plus it came rather quickly and the driver was friendly. Where I knock it down is for two reasons 1.) The driver did not carry change with him, therefore, I would not any of the order until he came back with it, which wasn’t until 20 minutes after I ordered. 2.) Some of the food has a bit of a weird after taste, but the noodles were not greasy and overall the product tasted really good. The wonton soup there is pretty good. I got a large, but I think next time I’ll stick to the small. It comes in a nice container with good size wontons and wonton strips, but little else. I had way too much broth at the end of the day. The combination lo mein is also really good. Plenty of meat(yes, that includes shrimp) and overall left me quite satisfied. I have some leftovers I plan on eating for dinner tonight. Next time I’ll try the Kung Pao chicken to see how it compares. But this was certainly a top runner for future orders for Chinese!

As I have reviewed. They messed up my 50th birthday. But I love Chinese and want to spend money only locally for it so I called them up. Nothing free so you know, my delivery was perfect. I don’t want free food, I want what I got. The BEST Chines delivery EVER. Thank you Mandarin House for getting my order right!!! You will always get my order. Thanks again.

I highly recommend dining in here. Kung Pao Shrimp was very fresh and the portion was quite generous. I love this Kung Pao as there are much less veggies and much more shrimp compared to other nearby places. Service was pretty decent too. This will be our go-to for Chinese food now. :)

Finding good Chinese takeout is very difficult. After some trial and error we decided that Mandarin House is our go to place. We both love their egg drop soup. They have egg rolls that are a bit greasy but why would you want an egg roll that’s not. We also love the Mongolian beef, chicken chow mein, and the chicken lo mein. Crab Rangoon is also very tasty. I will say that they take longer than I would like to deliver on busy evenings. However, I have always liked their customer service and thought that everyone I have dealt with has been nice.

It’s a good thing I didn’t listen to the bad reviews on here! I’m not big on Chinese food but my husband is so we decided to give this place a try and I must say it’s pretty good! Food was very tasty and the quantity they send is just right. The only bad thing I have to say is they do take a long time to deliver, but then again we understand traffic, weather and the amount of customers contributes to this as well. We will definitely be ordering again!

My husband and I think this place is fantastic. It is definitely the best Chinese food in Manassas. Before we discovered Mandarin House we actually had to travel to Bristow to get decent Chinese food. We have tried every Chinese restaurant in Manassas and this restaurant is by far the best so I am a bit surprised by some of the negative reviews. The food tastes great, the price is great and when we order delivery it comes fast and is always hot and fresh. In fact I think I will place an order right now! :)

Can’t help my self but laugh at some of these incessantly stupid reviews… bad egg rolls, bad tips, no soy sauce, its appaling how little people know about food. This place serves excellent chinese food when I lived in the manassas area. Their delivery was spot on and the owner is extremely friendly. Their excellent dishes included the chicken/beef with broccoli, pepper steak, spicy scezuan wontons, dumplings, fried rice and a very tasty and spicy kung pao chicken(the best kung pao I have had in the DC/NoVa area). So I suggest you folks that don’t provide legit reviews and want to exude hate because they have nothing better to do to stick with Papa John’s and Pizza Hut because that is as good as your pallet will get. That being side I highly recommend you try the food here.

This is my favorite chinese restaurant. I’ve been a customer for over 13 years. The food is delicious and they’re always open!

Mandarin House is the«other» Chinese restaurant in our neighborhood. We ordered here when we first moved into the neighborhood and found everything to be rather lackluster. Since then, China Star has been our go to for Chinese. But in light of the recent snowstorm(and not wanting to eat our homemade taco salad for dinner three nights in a row) I needed an option in walking distance. We decided to see if Mandarin House was open. They were, and I placed a pick-up order. My wife was unhappy with her go to items when we tried them years ago. The Crab Rangoon tasted odd, and the Shrimp Lo Mein used small feeder shrimp, not the big ones. So this time she went with the Sweet and Sour Chicken dinner, served with fried rice and Egg Roll. The chicken was well-cooked, the sauce was the typical sweet syrupy stuff, but the fried rice was bland. The egg roll was REALLY good — we also got a Pu Pu Tray so I had one too. Out of the rest of the items, the wife LOVED the fried wontons, the beef terayaki was good, the pork spareribs were decent. The fried shrimp were a but unusual — the breading was VERY thick — almost like a fritter. I actually dug that, my wife did not. My entrée was the Beef Chow Fun — the noodles were good but stuck together quite a bit, but overall I was happy. I still think China Star will be our go to Chinese spot, but I’m now more apt to give Mandarin House my business if I want to mix it up a bit, or if I want something I can walk to easily.

This is a story that started out bad but has a happy ending. I stopped by to order take out. The place was very slow and the gentleman behind the desk was reading his iPad. I said Triple Delight w/fried rice, he said ‘that’s easy’, I responded with ‘yes, very easy’. The wait was short, maybe 10 minutes. I got home to find out that I had Orange Chicken… huh? I called the restaurant and the same guy answered the phone. He was very apologetic and said he would deliver with no charge. He was here in less than 10 minutes. And the food, quite good, better than average Triple Delight. The fried rice was exceptional. Mistakes, happen, even on slow days. It’s how they recover and the sloution for the customer that makes the difference. I tried to give him back the 1st order and he said ‘no, that’s OK, you keep it’. Who needs some Orange Chicken? I’m keeping the extra order of fried rice though!

Not worth the price! I wasn’t feeling well last night, and all I wanted was some soup. Not being a fan of Egg Drop soup, I ordered the House Seafood which was supposed to be seafood and veggies. Guess what? EGGSINCLUDED! YUCK! Not listed in the description btw. I also ordered the Shrimp & Scallop’s in Garlic Sauce which was supposed to be spicy. Umm yeah, not so much. It was on the menu for $ 14.95. There were MAYBE5 shrimp in it which were described on the menu as «jumbo», FALSE advertizing! These shrimp were NOT jumbo, trust me on that! There were also maybe 5 bay scallops in the dish. I understand charging more for seafood, but seriously, when you charge almost $ 15 for a dish that’s 97% veg and sauce, list the ingredients as something they are not, it’s just wrong! Yes the food is good, but frankly, just not worth it in my opinion!

Neil E. had told me about this Chinese joint and said I should try it out. I happen to be in Manassas for a doctor’s appointment the other day. After leaving the doctor’s office I plugged the address in to my GPS. Man do I hate GPS sometimes. I had no clue where it was taking me. I finally arrived. When I did I was brought to a table near the buffet line. There was only one other person in there at the time. I told the waiter I wanted the buffet and water. I looked over the buffet and it was your typical type of Americanized Chinese food, kung pao, general tzo, fried rice, lo mein, chicken on a stick, some green beans, and so on. I took some of the kung pao, lo mein, and some green beans, egg roll, and hot and sour soup. As Neil E said, the soup was pretty bland, noting too exciting, and tasted pretty watered down. Now on to the kung pao. To be honest it was too sweet for my taste, a little too much hoisen sauce. I like mine more on the soy side and a lighter sauce. I did like the fact they didn’t cook it with veggies =) Sorry Neil. Veggies don’t belong in Kung Pao =) The flavor wasn’t bad, but just not to my likings. It also could have been the fact that it was on the buffet line. So I really can’t say how it tasted fresh. The egg roll was standard, nothing too exciting. The lo mein was good. Everything else I tried was o.k. Nothing to brag home about. There is no real décor inside. It’s pretty dark inside with a TV on the wall near the front. I was running late so I went up to the front to pay. When I was told it was 6 bucks I was like WHAT? Holy Crap, that’s cheap as hell. I guess that made up for the taste of the food, well just a little. Then again, how can you go wrong for six bucks.

Still craving Chinese food after the aborted attempt last week at another Chinese joint in Manassas. Went in here this evening with bated breath — hoping for the best and wondering if I would experience the worst. I was pleasantly surprised! As is my wont, I ordered the three dishes I always order the first time a new Chinese joint and I get acquainted: Spring rolls(these were deep fried with shrimp in them), Hot and Sour soup, and Kung Pao Chicken — extra spicy. A friendly lady sat me — it was about 7:00 pm and there was one other person eating in. Several folks came in to pick up to go orders. The soup came out first — served with crunchy noodles. I added them and dug in. Fairly average Hot and Sour soup. Then the fried Spring Shrimp rolls came out. Hot, not to greasy and very tasty. Squeeze bottles(the kind you might see for conventional yellow mustard and ketchup) of Chinese Mustard and Duck Sauce were provided with the rolls. I love authentic spicy Chinese mustard. The kind where you get a nasal headrush. This was not it. In fact, the mustard was very thin and runny — even after giving the bottle a shake. Disappointing. Then out came the Kung Pao Chicken. All chicken with peanuts and bits of scallions, and a robust, tasty, dark sauce — with no vegetables. Jesse C. would have loved this I Kung Pao I think. I certainly enjoyed it! I put some rice on the plate, added the Kung Pao, tasted it, then added some soy sauce for a bit of saltiness — and I was off to the races. The heat/spice level was perfect! Better than most places! Later the lady came by my table to ask how things were. I mentioned to her the Chinese mustard problem — being to thin and not hot/spicy, and I also mentioned to her that the Men’s Restroom needs a good and thorough scrubbing and cleaning. I mentioned some very specific things to look at in there — she thanked me and assured me that they would follow up on that — and that the Women’s Restroom was very clean — which I found amusing! They also offer a lunch buffet here around the lunch time hours every day — I think Mondays through Saturdays. I will have to come back to check that out as well. She cautioned me that Kung Pao off the buffet would not have the spice level that a custom order such as mine had. I will be back to sample other items on the menu!
