Casual, quirky, tasty and fun! They serve a delicious chicken sandwich and great iced coffee. I will be back.

This is a very nice, family owned sandwich/coffee shop with a fantastic laidback atmosphere. I called on Mother’s Day to check their hours, the owner said normal hours, then called me back to say she was closing early due to low traffic. I was right around the corner so I ran over to find them still open and very willing to serve me! I had an iced coffee, Romanesco, and side salad with carrot ginger dressing, and there was no rush for me to leave the porch! I’m glad three other customers came in while I was there, but the owner was very sweet about staying open longer. Delicious sandwich and tasty dressing, even if the salad was simple greens. I’m definitely coming back!

Really outstanding hearty quiche! Simple fare, great coffee, comfy and pleasant surroundings. Highly recommend for a casual lunch or dinner, or just a coffee klatch. Smoothies, too!

Stumbled in after a desperate search for coffee that wasn’t Starbucks — what a find! 2:00 in the afternoon and the black coffee was fresh. The vanilla latte I ordered was the best I can remember having — well, ever. Have already called my sister in Austin to plan a meet up at The Ugly Duckling next time she’s in town.

Ok, the place is cute, the food is very good but the service and attitude of the owner/chef/waitress/hostess was not exactly demonstrative of southern hospitality. Our party of 7 arrived shortly after the lunch hour and were seated promptly… could be because no one else was there. We ordered within a few minutes and then waited and waited and waited. About 20 – 25 minutes after ordering with no food in sight, one member our party asked the chef the status of our order. The chef snidely replied that this was not a fast food joint. So we waited some more and witnessed a disheveled barefoot young man appear from behind a bookcase(stairs to the second floor were behind the bookcase) enter the only bathroom in this place. The bathtub in the bathroom is a dead giveaway. About 10 — 15 minutes later our food, mostly flatbread sandwiches and wraps arrived. The food was very good and was served hot. Had it not been for the extraordinarily long and unapologetic wait combined with the shared bathroom I would have given this place 5 stars. It seems like I am an outlier with my 2 star rating, but the experience was that bad. Go if you have time to see the ugly duckling turn into a swan.

Such a cute, quaint place to grab a nice cup of coffee and visit with friends. The owner is lovely and so helpful. I’ve only had the coffee there but my latte was exactly how I like it and it didn’t break the bank. I’ll definitely be back.

Just the place I’ve been looking for! Stopped in here for a little coffee and bite to eat and was really impressed! I got a club chicken wrap and it was delicious! Also, the Chai tea was delightful. Great little setting and I hear this place sometimes has live music, as it stays open until 10pm on weekends. Friendly staff and great location also. Don’t miss it!
