This place pretty much picks and chooses who they want to come in. It has nothing to do with a dress code it’s all on how they feel at the moment and who’s at the door. I’ve been here numerous of times and the first time I came with my friend for happy hour. Her husband and his friends showed up later on with dickies and hoodies. I thought wow they let you guys in like that. Then on another occasion there were guys in there with baggy jeans. Basically I’ve seen it all at this place but normally it’s happy hour or Saturday evening. So yesterday I decided to go with my husband and our 2 year old daughter and the way this guy made us feel was like«you’re not welcome here». My husband had on shorts that were long so when the guy say no long shorts we were extremely cooperative and he rolled them up above his knees. Then the guy says oh you have to tuck in your chain to, my husband does so. Then the guy(in the same dry tone and smug face) points at my daughter and says is she coming too??? Mind you this is 2pm… he slowly grabs the menus like he’s dreadimg the fact that he has to let us in. That’s when I said. «you know what, Nevermind. We’ll go somewhere else» Not once did we argue or get upset. We did everything willingly and with a smile. Although the guy at the door seemed to hate life. I mean what did they think we were going to do with a 2 year old!!! I will not spend my money on a place where I don’t feel welcome. I just wish they save people the trouble and put up a sign that says your kind is not welcome here. Never again! I made sure to tell my friends and coworkers. We’ll have happy hour elsewhere from now on. I loved this place up until yesterday. Sad

Love Sharkeez, this location specifically. Parking is hard to find, but I love the location because it’s down the street from the beach. The margaritas are good and the food is good too, I always get tacos or the lobster enchiladas. Delicious! You must also try the Jell-O shots that come in syringes, u won’t regret it, just the right amount of alcohol in them! On Saturday nights they have a DJ and it can get pretty packed so if u are coming on a weekend night, be prepared for standing room only. However, it’s definitely one of the better bars in So Cal!

The fish tacos especial are so bomb! The drinks are strong and happy hour is the best here buy one get one for 50 cents like OMG everyone can be wasted for real cheap! What more can you ask for? I’ve also tried their sampler platter and their burgers! Everything it’s delicious! I will be trying their brunch this weekend so I will update you all once I try their breakfast!

Came in last night with a few coworkers to unwind after work. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Richard helped me find the salsa bar and made sure it was stocked with fresh chips for my friends and I. He even came to the table to check on us and see if we needed help with anything else. it was a nice change from a lot of rude, inconsiderate customer service I encounter while dining out. The food and drinks were great, especially for the prices; I will definitely be making this one of my regular spots from now on.

Came here for my post bday brunch festivities and left my card and ID. Called the next day and some guy picks up and after he rambles off specials of the day, I tell him what happened and he goes«oh ok, what’s your name? Let me check on that.» He then proceeds to put me on hold FOREVER. Finally I hang up and call back and the SAMEGUY picks up with his whole spiel about the specials of the day, and I say I’m the one that was calling about my card and ID and he goes«oh right ok, let me check on that. What’s your name again?» Really??? Ok, Dory. Like did you just put me on hold and forget? God. He comes back shortly after and says just pick it up from the manager. I come in and the front door guy is carding, but I explain the situation, so he lets me in saying go to the bar, he was actually very nice. I wait for the bartender’s attention then explain the situation. He tells me go to that guy with the camo hat on stage. I go to the guy with the camo hat on stage, he wasn’t friendly or smiley. Idk if he was the manager or what. Told me to sign, I did, and left. Maybe I’ve been out the bar scene for too long and expect too much in terms of niceties. Hermosa Sharkeez is a lot more chill. I relayed these string of events to my friend(Manhattan Beach native) and she replied, «that’s Manhattan Beach for ya.» Lol, lovely.

There are few places in the South Bay which really draw the arrogance and smugness of those who are full of themselves, and Baja Sharkeez just happens to be in the top three. Boasting the finest fish tacos, these are actually made of the VanKamps which one can buy at the local grocery store for much less. Their food quality, or lack there of, is only matched by their door service, demanding those carrying possessions to leave their belongings outside. This is truly one of the worst experiences the community of Manhattan Beach has to offer.

Here for Memorial day and Bill and Eyner have totally taken care of us! Bill saved us from a Trump supporter trying to pull our hair. Bill was amazing and I can’t wait to come back and visit them!

Not the friendliest place in town, but the food and drinks are so good! We were only there for dinner, so we didn’t get to experience the late night vibes. As first timers, it was annoying to wander around trying to figure our what the bouncer meant by «don’t forget to place your order». Duh, what else is one to do? What he meant was, that you have to place your order at the registers in the bar. Which was totally cool because you don’t get interrupt by a server every 5 minutes. I find it a little easier to just stop a server and ask for ketchup or whatever. Deff coming back. HIGHLYRECOMMEND: –Watermelon Pop Rocks Margarita. –Shrimp Burrito

Hermosa location over this one. This location is way smaller, way deader and the employees are rude(especially the female bartender and some guy behind the bar who appeared to be her boss). The only reason I’m giving this place two stars is 1) the bouncer was friendly and welcoming 2) the male bartender(I didn’t catch his name) acknowledged me and promptly took my drink order after the female bartender ignored me for a good 10 minutes(she was only serving thirsty men lurking around the bar area) 3) DJ Soundrel played music that livened up the place. If you must come here, park in the lot off of rosecrans and highland and be here early enough to not have to pay a cover. I personally like the Hermosa location any time of day or night so I would say just head over there instead of wasting your time here.

Worst place ever! The hubs and I were denied access due to his style of shorts. However, the«front door staff and manager ere dressed in busted faded ass swim trunks. Never coming back!

I was in town for five days of meetings so every night was a new adventure on where to eat dinner. A co-worker/friend and I ended up at Sharkeez ! I loved the restaurant itself although, I’m not a fan of ordering at the bar. .. and here’s why : We took turns ordering and my friend said the guy at the bar was rude. I ended up ordering from the same bartender(James) and while he did take care of my order, he definitely wasn’t friendly or even patient. I ordered fajitas and a margarita. I tipped $ 6 thinking that the tip gets split to the bartender and the server. .. come to find out, I was wrong. Our server was Justin B, who was SO friendly and was always checking in on us — he should have been the bartender because he has the perfect personality for it. I actually told him to go take $ 5 from the tip I left at the bar but he said it was okay. I was so mad at the fact that I tipped a rude bartender $ 6 !! He didn’t even deserve $ 2 ! My friend and I still left another $ 5 each because Justin B was extremely friendly and accommodating. Considering that my friend also didn’t realize the tip she left went straight to the bartender, I really think there should be a sign near the registers explaining this. I am sure the regulars know exactly how it works, but for newbies, it isn’t how you would think it works. I can’t even imagine how many tips were accidentally left at the bar that never made it to the server ! I’m glad we asked so we could leave something for Justin B as he definitely deserved it ! As for the food and margarita, everything was delicious ! I am only taking away a star because of the experience with the bartender.

Free chips and salsa bar! Pop rocks watermelon Margaritas… Walking distant to the beach and public parking but only for 2 hours so don’t forget to put more $. Service was slow because you have to place your order at the bar and when it’s crowded… Good luck getting the bartenders attention! I ordered chicken fajita, love the sides but the chicken was dry!

This is on the corner of Rosecrans and highland. Parking is gonna be hard to find on the street, I would recommend parking in a lot. There is a lot on the corner with meters, that’s where I parked. You walk in they give you menus and you sit wherever you want. Once you are ready to order you go to the bar to order. You pay right away when you order and they give you a cup which they use to track your order. They have salsa and chips in the back, you help yourself. They also have taco sauce, tobasco, habanero sauce, jalapeños, cilantro etc. I had the signature fish Burrito it was amazing. It was served with some rice and avocado. Also had the guac which was great. My friend had the crazy corn, mango fish taco and shrimp Burrito said they were all good. People also made sure everything was good with us. Overall this was a great experience and I will definitely be back. I highly recommend this place.

I’ve only ever come here for Happy Hour and I love it for that. If you come on a Friday make sure to reserve a table as big parties tend to snatch them up quickly. Drinks are strong and reasonably priced. Lots of buy one get the 2nd for 25 cent options during HH which is both awesome and dangerous. My favorite drink of choice is their pop rocks margarita, try it and thank me later. I love their bartenders and hosts, super nice and accommodating as possible even when busy. The only con as others have mentioned is parking but even that’s not so bad if you’re willing to walk 5 or 10 minutes.

My review is mainly on the bar/lounge/club scene on weekends between 10pm to 2am. First off, keep your distance from creeps. There’s almost always someone on the dance floor trying to be extra friendly with the ladies! Gross. Anyways, service was average as table service sucked more than the bar. The bartender was actually decent and didn’t give me a hard time for ordering a non-alcoholic beverage. I don’t drink at all and so it’s difficult to pick a drink at places such as a bar. LOL but yes, I got a Sherly Temple and he was sweet enough to make conversation as to why I don’t drink. A girl friend of mine ordered a Cosmopolitan and she seemed to like it since she ordered it twice and said it hit the spot. The DJ was killing it on a Thursday night! Transitions were smooth and songs were old school here and there that took me back to the 90s! My kind of jam. Kudos to the DJ! Parking is a bit of a walk. heads up to the ladies that like to wear extra high heels! It’s free though, so that’s good. Always being guy friends that will for sure take care of you. Bouncer was cool, doing their job making sure to carefully check people’s ID’s at the door. Restrooms were okay clean. I do like that they have booths. Booths just make me feel more comfy. Some were«Reserved» for parties so I guess they do bottle service too. I shall inquire about it for friends’ parties. Dance floor is a bit tiny if you ask me. So if it’s packed, it’s crazy packed! Not really my fave. Overall, Baja Sharkeez is like a grade B. I’d come back but not any time soon. It’s bookmarked though! Ha.

The views at this location are great. Really enjoyed the service as well. Prices are fair for the area and they have a huge menu of food which I have yet to try, but an even larger drink menu which I sampled quite a bit of. Décor and vibe is fun and casual, great place to stop for drinks while out in the area!

Usually like to stick to coming by here during Happy Hour since the place is usually chill with good specials. Drinks are basically buy one, get another for a quarter(has to be the exact same drink though). Food is mostly all Mexican with a few burgers and sandwiches. Tacos and burritos are decent. Free Chips and Salsa located in the corner which always a bonus. Drinks are decent and the tap selection is varied. Things that knock off a couple of stars are the parking situation, if you’re lucky you can grab a spot across the street at the garage, if not you’re screwed. The other is the tables are very close together and the stools at the bars take an anorexic to get in between because there’s hardly any space. Service is a hit or miss, no waitresses which means you have to order at the bar.

This place isn’t really good for larger parties(we came out for a friend’s birthday). We got lucky and were able to snag a few tables and set them side-by-side, but don’t expect that to be the norm. Service is pretty friendly, but the tables are so cramped that the dishes they bring out don’t actually fully fit on the tables unless you put the condiments on the floor or something. Plus, it wasn’t really a good surprise to feel something very sticky on the side of the table. Food was alright. I had the fajitas. The filling was decent, but nothing special. Half of the tortillas I got were broken, so I couldn’t use them as a wrap. They also didn’t feel fresh — they were a little soggy. Parking is atrocious. We had to park in a residential area a mile away and walk. It was a nice day though, so we didn’t mind it too much. Plus, we got to walk off the meal on the way back.

Came here with a girlfriend of mine and I was so surprised at the prices! Everything is well priced! Like this place makes Fridays look expensive. Got a huge margacoronarita(margarita with a Corona in it) for like $ 9! WOW! Came in and saw a mixed crowd! Those on a date, the kid with the fake I. D, the cougars and us, the two chicks just creeping! WATCH your meter AND make sure you know who is driving! DUI checkpoints! They know you are drinking!
