I really enjoyed this place. Came here because I am familiar with the other places of the same name. Only planed to have a couple of drinks then move on. Ended up staying for quite a while. My friend and I had a blast even though it wasn’t very busy. Bartender Torre was a lot of fun, personable, and interactive with all customers at the bar that night. It felt like we had been coming here forever even though it was our first time. Great experience!

Pretty solid pub. There are quite a few Gastropubs in this area. About 6 in just a 2 block radius. But I come here most often and the reason is value and quality I get for said value.
The food isn’t better than some of its competitors but for the price. The burgers here are pretty good. They are moist and juicy. if you come Tuesdays you can buy a burger and get one free. There are over 8 varieties of burgers and they come with fries. They range from $ 10-​$ 12. Burger varieties include burgers with egg, mushrooms, patty melts and sliders among others.
they also have $ 5 mimosas, greyhounds and the Hennessy lemonade all day everyday. I can’t bring myself to give this place 5 stars but wish I could do like 4.5 star.

Hennessy’s is a cool place to hang out in Manhattan Beach. They have drink specials and some decent food. The service is pretty good as well. I’ve never been on the weekend but I can imagine that it gets very crowded. During the week I do notice that there is a much more relaxed vibe which I like.
The bad thing about this place and the reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I have never come here and gotten drunk or even tipsy. If I’ve had 3 drinks I want to feel like I’ve had 3 drinks. This isn’t he first time this has happened to me here. They keep tricking me! SMH. Weak weak weak cocktails.
Now Unilocal is telling me to put some mustard on my review… I hate mustard. I would never do that! Mustard is scary

Went for karaōke… Drinks were expensive and not strong, so it took a bit to get me to ‘sing’, but I guess that’s the catch. Overall cool tho.

Had our post wedding brunch here the next day after our wedding. The groomsmen actually took shots at the bar and were photographed here the day of the wedding. Amazing food, Irish pub influence. Irish nachos were really good. Bloody Mary was good too! All the food I sampled was off the chain! Would definitely come back again.
And thanks for the inside bartender who hooked me and my groomsmen up with all of those shots of rumple mintz!

Prime rib sandwich was fresh and tasty, cole slaw coukd have used more deessing. Fish and chips were also freshly made. Best were the Irish nachos. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff.

Good food, good service, the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because it’s a little pricey. Had the Dublin burger (Irish cheddar, applewood smoked bacon, lettuce & tomato & signature sauce). Very tasty! I would go back for that. Fun place, atmosphere is kinda loud but hey, it’s an Irish pub so don’t go if you want a quiet meal.

Awesome place! After biking from Santa Monica to Manhattan Beach, Hennesey’s really satisfied our hunger with yummy fish and chips – fish perfectly cooked with very good flavor beer batter and yummy fries! And the fish tacos were amazing! The sauce they drizzle on the taco is so good! Everything was freshly cooked. Service was pretty good. Waitress suggested the Captain Paul French toast for dessert. It was scrumptious as well! Would definitely come back here when in town!

I’m in complete shock and disbelief. After convincing my two (2) close friends from law school to visit me in MB, I made the mistake of bringing them to Hennessy’s. They were harassed, assaulted, and battered by two (2) patrons who were blatantly racist. I have never experienced or witnessed something so disgusting, and yet tolerated and accepted by this establishment.
Said patrons were two (2), tall, white blondes. Patron No.1, walked by, pointed at my two (2) friends and said «What is this Asian circle, move,» and then pushed her way toward the bar. Later on, Patron No. 2, screamed at the top of her lungs, «go back to Tokyo, asians are horrible drivers.» Next, Patron No. 2 began poking my friend in the chest and telling him to go home. I looked around and waited for the bouncer, or bartender, or any employee of Hennessey’s, to respond to these two (2) patrons’ racist behavior and to deescalate the situation, but no employee responded. Everyone was aware and heard, Patron No.1 and No. 2, continue to scream racial slurs at my friends and commit hate crimes, and nothing was done until Patron No. 2 threw her glass at my friend. Glass was shattered all over the floor and pieces of glass flew into my sandals. Instead of asking the the two (2) racist patrons to leave, they kicked everyone out, and probably just because they were closing.
I LOVED Hennessey’s, and have been eating here for over a decade. I am embarrassed and ashamed that this incident occurred at one of my favorite places to eat. I have never been at Hennessey’s past 8pm, and maybe the patrons are different in evenings, but I hope that this racist behavior will not continue to be tolerated by this establishment.

Not what I expected from a pub in Manhattan Beach. The Friday night crowd is rowdy and racist. I would stick to one of the classier bars or restaurants nearby.
However, Hennessey’s is a good place to grab a quick bite to eat for lunch. Try the citrus chicken salad or burger, both are good.

Wasn’t greeted when i first walked in. And a server just walked right passed my husband and i. We stood in the entrance for about 2 mins. not knowing if we are supposed to seat ourselves. A busser had to greet us and told us we can sit anywhere we like.
Overall, service got better. The waitress had some good insite and very good suggestions of her own. She was very attentive and all smiles.
As for the food, very delicious. Presentation was nice. The meat on the burger was a bit dry, needed a little more seasoning.

We walked in didn’t get greeted or told we could have a seat wherever we please. I had to ask.
After that everything got better we got the Irish nachos, they were amazing. Our server was nice and even suggested drinks and food we should get.
The food was amazing, I had the Hennessy’s Bfast sandwich, my fiancée the Burger sampler. The meat on the burgers may have needed a lil more juice and seasoning but other than that. I had a great time here. Will be back here soon enough.

I like coming here on Tuesdays for two for one burgers with my Oma. It makes a perfect get together since we can both enjoy a veggie burger for the price of one. On that note, I get the same thing here every time! I swear, one day I’ll try the grilled cheese or onion rings or something…
Some things to know:
SITTING OUTSIDE ROCKS. I don’t necessarily like the interior of the place, and it’s probably because I’m a sucker for patios. The interior is a little more pub like and dark, while the exterior is a little bit more comfortable (in my opinion). They also have a nice fireplace outside and you can ask them to turn on the heater above you. It’s perfect for people watching.
PARKING CAN BE TOUGH. Street parking in MB has gotten worse and worse over the years. Think ahead, find a lot, or maybe take a stroll in if you’re a local. DO NOT PARK IN THE VONS PARKING LOT. They will tow.
THIS MAY BE THE BEST VEGGIE BURGER IN MANHATTAN BEACH. As a vegetarian, I have eaten many a veggie burger. And usually veggie burgers are either too mushy, too spicy, or too bland. This is to the point where I don’t even want to eat a veggie burger when I’m out. I actually avidly avoid them. Sure, I think these veggie burgers are pre-​made … but seriously it’s a good veggie burger. The bun doesn’t get soggy and the patty itself doesn’t fall apart or mush between your fingers.
THEIR FRENCH FRIES ARE REALLY GOOD. Enough said.
ASK FOR AVOCADO OR GRILLED ONIONS: Avocado and grilled onions on your burger make it even better. Spread on the avocado on the bun to make it stick better.
ARE YOU AN ODD NUMBERED PARTY? Online, they say that they won’t do the 2 for 1 burgers to go … but if you’re 3 people, you can ask for one of the burgers to go! It makes an awesome gift to bring home for either yourself or someone you left behind.
One day, I’ll come here other than a tuesday and try something besides a veggie burger with fries. But, for now, two for one tuesdays makes me happy.

Whenever I’m in Manhattan Beach for a drink after work, this place is always a must-​stop for me. It’s the perfect mix of social atmosphere without the ridiculous overcrowding at other Manhattan Bars. I also like the Irish-​pub theme, since I am mostly a Guiness and Jameson drinker :)
This is a great place to grab a drink with a small group, and the food isn’t too bad either. Definitely stop by here if you’re looking to avoid a long wait and/​or crowd.

Well I’ve been to Hennessy Dana Point & Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, and now Manhattan Beach. Depending on what’s nights or days. This place can be packed with a sports crowd or a quite weekday.
Look up their extensive specials menu on their website. You have happy hours specials, food specials, free entrée on your birthday week. It’s your Irish Tavern with food & drinks. My burgers are always good and the fries are a nice complement.
Nice place for inexpensive food & drinks.

Haunted mansion! Walking in this place reminded of the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland! I know that is so random but it is true. It is because of their decorations on the left side of the pub as you walk in. They have various portraits with sayings underneath. It reminds me of those portrats you see inside the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. In addition to this the pub is kinda dark inside and a bit gloomy.
Perhaps the gloominess could attributed to the fact that I came during lunch time and not during a busy happy hour. I came on a Tuesday with a friend for their 2 for 1 burger specials. Despite the Tuesday specials, there weren’t too many folks eating there that day. It wasn’t completely empty but definitely not full.
It’s been awhile since I’ve been to Hennesey’s. It was actually first time at this location since I’d always go to the Hermosa Beach in my past visits. I was curious to see how this one would be. It has the same menu as the other locations and I chose to get the mushroom burger.
My mushroom burger came with french fries and was presented open face. I was a little hesitant at first because my burger smelled a little fishy but perhaps it could be attested to the mushrooms. I gave it a try though and the burger was not bad. The patty was cooked well done and was tasty. The fries were perfectly crisp.
When our bill came, it was only a little over $ 11. Talk about one cheap meal for two! Just for that I would say the Haunted Mansion err Hennesey’s may not be so bad at all. Where else can you get two burgers with fries for just $ 11? :). This place is not bad but I do like Hennesey’s Hermosa more for the beach like view. This place just has portraits for you to stare at versus a nice ocean. Hehe.

i was in desperate need of coffee and landed here because there was no line and you could sit outside.
food and drink was meh, but it was quick and you could people watch. it’s probably a different atmosphere inside, but it filled a hole. not outstanding, but there was no waiting and no rush to get out.

This place is so hot and cold I’ve got to lower my rating.
I ordered two burgers to go with the two for one Tuesday promotion as I’ve done for the last 1+ years. I stupidly assumed the guy that helped me was as competent as the women that helped me in the past. Big mistake. The burgers were correct but they had ZERO condiments. No napkins, ketchup, mustard or mayonnaise!!! When I called to tell the «manager» she told me that the ketchup was out of stock when I was in and the rest of the items she was clueless to why I did not receive them. She also said I could drive back to get them!!! She then told me the two for one Burger promotion was over per the owner and I should not be mad if they said no to my order next time! WOW. Nice spot.
Good burgers… terrible customer service.
