Very friendly owners with a good atmosphere. Its a nice place to sit and chat. The prices are average for any café.

I love this café. The kindest and most thoughtful people I have ever came across. The Chai will change your life, and the atmosphere will make your day

This place is owned and operated by a CULT called The Twelve Tribes. The leader, Elbert Gene Spriggs owns very large homes and businesses in every state where his«followers» live and large estates in other parts of the world. You should Google this group! I had to call the FBI«who know them well», in order to get someone out. It took me getting a local NBC news team and the police involved and they still didn’t leave for a few months. When you join them they take all of your money. You are never allowed to have your own money, not even a penny, or possessions. Their«specialty» is Maté and BRAINWASHING! The only other business I know for sure that they own would be a woodworking shop. Beware! Whatever you do, do not get on their Big Bus! There are horror stories about families trying to get their children out! PLEASE do not go here!

The perfect place to stop for a cozy atmosphere and delicious mates. I love how natural and healthy their food and beverages are. The staff is always so kind and friendly. I love how they work together as a community to run such a wonderful place! My mom convinced me to try mate and I wasn’t too sure if i’d like it, but they let me sample a variety and all were very delicious! I highly recommend this place to anyone and can almost guarantee after you try it once, you’ll be back!

We climbed the incline mid week and wanted something light to nosh on. We checked Unilocal and this place had 4+ stars and a note that it was run by a cult — well heck, sign us up! The place is 24 hours — bonus. The place is adorable The staff is doing their best and are as friendly as they are able There is no real kitchen, so take care in what you ordered. I did poached eggs and actually it was pretty weird… tasty but not really poached eggs! The mate was tasty. I added some almond milk and sugar and drank it down! The seating is interesting, it feels like you are inside some trees! The bathroom key is behind the counter, and i saw why… got some strange ones wandering in and out Other than that, parking is on the street outfront and they installed a new machine that will text you when you time is almost up — woot! There were people working, but really they just used up valuable table space — of the 7 that were in there… so i’d not suggest it Give it a try!

My friend was showing me around Manitou Springs and she knows my obsession with coffee and suggested I give mate a try. The whole concept of mate weirded me out a little since it’s all herbal but I love trying new things and was all for it. Went for the chai mate because I wasn’t feeling adventurous enough to discover what herbal«espresso» was like. I was a little disappointed if we are being honest. Maybe I’ve been poisoned by mainstream, sugar laden chais but I just felt like it was a herb and spice flavor mixed with milk and I didn’t get much else. Also, be warned if your weird like me, and green beverages weird you out, don’t open the cup! The herbal mix makes for a bright green beverage. So interesting, right? Loved the calm, hippie-ish atmosphere. The wooden booths and nooks were cozy and you could totally enjoy a pastry and drink here and hang out for hours. I think I’d try hot tea next time and I’d probably like it more. It’s also open 24⁄7 which is super fun.

After getting tricked into doing the Manitou Incline, my friends took me here for lunch. We all got sandwiches; I got the vegetarian sprouts sandwich, which I thought was pretty good. It was worth it for the price and it was crowded enough that we had to eat outside. We enjoyed some mates, a raspberry one for me. I wouldn’t mind coming back.

Great staff and awesome mate. Im always greeted with smiles and engaging help from the staff. Mate Latte is my favorite. The muffins steamed with butter are pretty incredible, by far the best muffins in town. Food menu is really fresh and delicious as well.

My FAVORITE place to stop and rest while I’m in Manitou. Truly, this is the absolute best tea in the area. There’s not much more to say about it, I have never had a bad or even moderate experience here. This is one thing I hope stays around to become a staple spot in Manitou, it keeps the area weirdly interesting with more to offer than meets the eye. Go here. You will like it, and if you don’t maybe Bill Murray will mail you a free unicorn that will vomit rainbows into your cup. Personally, I’ll just stick with the Yerba Mate… Unless they start selling it with a unicorn…

This is the best place I have ever been to. In 3 days on my trip, I am currently on my 6th time in here… The employees are very sweet and enthusiastic about the maté and your enjoyment of it, and the atmosphere is chill and cozy. The maté itself is the greatest tasting herb on earth. It is great hot, or cold. 100% recommendation.

I really enjoyed the Mate’ Factor, a cozy mountain café, and the people serving there. Being allergic to wheat I was thrilled to be able to order the breakfast egg and cheese sandwich on gluten free sourdough. It was buttery and full of provolone and two eggs. With it I enjoyed a hot yerba mate’ with honey and almond milk; mate’, I’m addicted.

Great peaceful location! Came in here twice while visiting Manitou Springs. Enjoyed the vanilla hazelnut latte, as well as the mint mocha.

Came to this café’ for lunch with a friend. I have walked by several times never even noticing it, but this time we did notice it and and ventured in. I have to agree with other reviewers on the ‘cult servers’ comments. I did not know that this café’(along with others around the country) is in fact ran BY A RELIGIOUSCULT O_o Had I known I would have not chose to dine at this establishment, and contributing to their cause by patronizing their establishment. But what’s done is done. Live and learn they say. I did not get a good vibe from the staff, nor a friendly or particularly polite one. The food was also not much to rave and rant about, but the place ISSUPERCHARMING. I love the Colorado feel that the timber offers and the best seat is def the last table next to the front window! This place feels like a fairy mountain wonderland. Hopefully one day they’ll go under and a NONCULT will take it over and have better staff and more exciting menu. For now it’s just not in my list of places to go, I prefer not to endorse cults of any sorts.

Smushsmazing! The actual place is awesome. The view from the window of the mountains is awesome. The people that work there are patient and friendly. May wait a min to get your food if they’re slammed. Sit down and check the place out! It’s all healthy and natural in there. Don’t expect anything more or less. Good food, good people, good environment, good atmosphere.

Great place to stop for rude, judgmental people. Pack of some of the most judgmental strangers I have ever encountered seem to always hang out directly outside of the door. They will insult you as you walk in, and when you do get in the baristas are rude and the patrons pretentious. There’s nothing worse in the world than a judgmental pretentious«hippie». I’ll take my wooks at taco bell any day.

The best part of dining here was the ambiance. Maté Factor was recommended by a local and the food was delicious. While seating is limited, the staff accommodated our party of five. I have never tried maté before so I tried the maté espresso. Delicious and rich like a strong green tea. Perhaps the best and most genuine pet of our visit here was overhearing an employee tell a coworker, «I’m not here to make money. I am here to try to have a good time!» Thanks for the grub, good people of Maté Factor!

The perfect place to stop for lunch during your visit to Manitou Springs. I had«The Sandwich» and it was fantastic. And the buns are unlike any buns you’ve seen, touched, or tasted! ;-) Yum. YUM! The design of the interior is very unique, almost like you’d have to pay separately for the experience. And they focus on natural, healthy foods. Commendable all around.

This organization is run by religious zealots that limit and control everything about the lives of those involved. While on the surface the members may appear happy with their choice to be involved in such an extreme life, it becomes apparent(especially with the women and children) that they are strictly regulated. They prey on people that are down in life and need direction. Be aware! Please do not patronize a place that treats people as nothing more than a work force and brainwashes children(children are not allowed to have pets or toys!). Research this organization. Ask locals why they won’t go. Look past the quaint atmosphere and really think about what you’re supporting when you give them your money.
