The food was delicious, prices were not that bad, and our cook was amazing… STEVEJUAN He was hella cool, he even took a sake bomb with us. He did some pretty cool tricks while cooking our food too. The resturant and bathrooms were very clean as well.

I came here a couple of years ago and it was ok. Now the service and food portions and prices have gone out of control. It was seven of us so we ordered four plates and the lady told us that two plates would feed about three people, when our food was cooked there wasn’t enough with the four orders we placed, we ended up ordering two more plates and our tab was $ 140. The food tasted good but it was a rip off coming here. The one star is for the chef.

We had the worst Japanese food ever at Yakimi tonight. Decided to forego the tapan cooking and ordered from the menu at another table. My shrimp tempura was greasy and the breading was mushy. It came with a separate dish of stir fried vegies that were cold. My husbands entire meal was cold. When we told the waitress that our food was cold she took it to the kitchen and the cook put it in the microwave. When his steak meal came back the steak pieces were like leather. It was totally unacceptable at $ 15.95. They did take it off of our bill. We saw in the kitchen that they use frozen food in bags. We will not go back again.

We went to this combination Japanese Restaurant. which was advertised for both types of cooking somewhat knowing you cannot do each expertly in a mix type place Well the first thing was they did not have prime steaks… like FM… but had a curtain steak… or some other type… the salad and soup came and was ok. The cook came and dumped the greens on the flat grill. they appeared wilted… he proceeded to cook… the curtain steak was over cooked… the sauce provided not that good… the rice was dried out. and chicken was just ok… so after eating in many Japanese Restaurant in past… would not recommend this place… they did not have Filet Minon… as advertised in menu… the wilted greens… and the cook over did the soi sauce

I would have like to have given them a star but never got service. My husband wanted to take me to dinner to cheer me up after a hard week of work and we have been wanting to try the place for months. When we walked in it looked nice and entertaining. However, when we were seated in the bar area no one came over to take our order and after 10 min we left. Needless to say I was disappointed by the service.

Went around 7 pm had to wait around 45 mins. Was served the soup and salad, we had to remind the waitress about our drinks. Finally got tired of waiting and went to the back and told the owner were outta here. My family can’t wait no longer. Look like he didn’t even look like he cared. Paid for our soup and salad, didn’t even hear a sorry for the inconvience. No worries I’ll go some where else to drop $ 75 for dinner. The sad thing is I’ve been going there since it open. Time to move on. The ppl sitting at our table said the same thing.

This is what pisses me off about Manteca. Chili’s and Applebee’s are packed every night while the best place in town has tables open every night. Yukimi is easily the tastiest place here and I love the servers. Hecka funny. Get yourself together Manteca

Hard to believe that the woman who seems to run the place is as rude as she is. One would think that an establishment would want to make their clients feel welcome. Can’t even comment on food cause the attitude of that woman is that bad. Second time here and wanted to give them a second chance. Maybe table service is better

Went there for hibachi and it was decent price. Not cheap but not expensive. Had the steak and shrimp. Was surprised the vegetable sauce was bland and that they mix the meat sauces into the meat on the grill, as opposed to most places that separate the two sauces. Waitress forgot our drink order and came after the appetizer, but was sweet and apologetic but it was busy so I wasn’t upset. The food wasn’t bad at all. They don’t do an actual«show» but it’s not like we are in the big city anyway. I would recommend, and definitely would go back though.

I wouldn’t come here for sushi because the tastes was not up to my standard, however I am giving it 4⁄5 for because the teppan service was awesome; our host was entertaining and accommodating(& so were our waitresses). I didn’t order anything from the teppan table, but it looked good. I tried the vegetables and they were a little salty for my taste, but it was ordered that way– so thumbs up to our host as I said who was truly accommodating to our table. Overall, still better than Bennihanna’s(however you spell it). Would recommend for groups.

Had a good dinner here. The place has a lot of cooking tables Benihana style. The food taste food and is fresh they give you big portions of everything. The yumi sauce is good for the vegetables. I like this place because it is just around the corner from my house and is never too crowded but I recommend making reservations. The chefs show is pretty generic but we had a great time.

Well we tried this place because it was close to home and we love Japanese Steakhouses, NOT this one! The food had no taste, even the sauces were bland and had no taste. The Chef was boring did no entertaining, barely knew how to use the knives, that is part of the experience. Usually people clap doing these shows never once at any table. The worst was we have been to Ichiban, Benihana, Kobe, Domo this was more expensive and awful. Shrimp were not de-veined and undercooked, we did not eat them, steak cut so thim like beef jerky. Domo in Stockton is the bomb compared to this and is cheaper, never again!

Where do I begin. Food is very lacking in flavor. Chef had no personality. No entertainment. Had to ask for sauces that were tasteless. Teriyaki sauce was not at all like teriyaki. Chef handled sauce bowls with his fingers INSIDE the bowl. I guess that’s enough to justify the one star rating. All this and way more expensive than GOOD Japanese steakhouses we’ve been to.

My girls and I were looking for a different teppenyaki restaurant in the valley. We’ve already been to the one in Tracy and were hesitant to go to Stockton. So we decided to go to Manteca. It is sort of in the«middle» of town, I suppose. It’s in a strip mall, next to Raley’s. It was 7PM on a Sunday night. When we walked in, the place was pretty empty. We were seated at a table with three other people. They had already had their soup and salad. We ordered and was given the soup and salad. The soup was good, the salad dressing was a tad watery for my liking. But not terrible. The chef came out and repeated our orders to us all. I ordered the shrimp and chicken, my girls all ordered the kids chicken with fried rice. The chef did a lot of really loud banging with his cooking tools. He looked like he wanted to intimidate us all more than anything. The food was fine, the veggies weren’t cooked as much as I usually like. But everything else was good. For the four of us to eat dinner here, it was about $ 55 after tip, which is pretty cheap for this style restaurant. I’m not saying that they should charge more… because if so, they should do more show stuff. But if you’re looking for just teppenyaki tasting food, this will satisfy your craving without completely emptying your wallet.

This solace is pretty good… The sushi is average but the food from the grill is very good. A little on the expensive side, but I love going to this place with my family.

First time here, was pleased with the service and very entertained. The veggies, garlic fried rice, and chicken was Delish. The tempura app was some of the best I had. They have a good drink selection. My family and I will def be back. The atmosphere was very family friendly which I love.

Had a pleasant experience here tonight. Took my wife out with my kids.(we don’t normally bring the kids) The staff was nice and our cook was good with the kids. Actually talked to them and entertained them. The food show is not Benihana status anymore but you can stay local and have pretty good Japanese food. I had the steak and chicken(normally have seafood but they always overcook it and I leave disappointed) This time around everything was perfect! Good place to bring a date.

The food was good but the service was not that great. I should say they were attentive but not friendly at all. The cook looked like he didn’t want to be there and the waitress/hostess was brisk. Disappointed.
