ZERO – I wish I could give this rating to this and all Sleepy’s – not for the quality of their items, but for their customer service in the store and at corporate level!!! I want to warn everyone against them because we were lied to and treated unfairly. So, my boyfriend and I were on the search for a new mattress and on our way up to North Jersey from Philly, we saw this Sleepy’s. We went in and were the only customers there. So, we had all of the attention of the sales person, Shawn(or Shaun?). Anyways, he was super attentive to us while we tried out different mattresses. We immediately fell in love with a Beautyrest Recharge Firm mattress. We really enjoyed the firm feel, but how soft it felt. Even though this is something that we knew we wanted, we went ahead and tried a variety of other mattresses. What really pushed it over the edge for us was that the sign said that it was«20 year warranty!» We thought that this would be too good to be true so we asked Shawn about this. He told us he didn’t know the specific warranties of each type of mattresses, but that we should trust the signs. So we were practically sold. We had lots of questions and felt bad since it was towards the end of the night, but he said he wasn’t in a rush and for us to take our time. We discussed the prices here and there and he seemed to have lowered the price for us, but then the price went up again with a couple of free pillows. He also told us that it was a $ 20 fee to get rid of our old mattress and box spring. He gave us side and back sleeper pillows and we settled on a price. As soon as we paid, we noticed that we actually wanted a stomach sleeper pillow instead of the back sleeper. We asked if we could exchange this, and then ALLOF A SUDDEN, HEDIDN’T HAVETIME TO! We seriously were flabbergasted that as soon as we made the purchase, he was rushing us out. He said that he would make the exchange for delivery and we left the pillows there – this really disappointed us since we wanted to try out the pillows that night. Anyways, fast-forward to delivery, we uncovered all the lies we were told: LIE #1: $ 20 disposal fee. The delivery guys said that they could only dispose of ONE item(mattress) and it would cost more to get rid of the 2nd one(box spring). Well, okay, that’s stupid. Why would we only want to dispose of one thing when we’re getting two items? So we had to call the company and pay them more money to dispose of our other item. LIE #2: NOT a 20 year warranty! We looked at the paperwork that came with the mattress and it says 10 year warranty. So we called the company and everyone was so dismissive of us. No apologies, just some BS about«the warranty just changed and maybe the signs weren’t up to date.» We asked to speak to a manager and she gave us some half-hearted type of apology – nothing about sorry, our branch messed up. This 2-year warranty really motivated us to buy, if we had known it was just 10 years, we would have kept shopping. There was nothing we could do. It’s in fine print that once delivered you cannot return anything. So, I’ll just make all the complaints I can to their corporate office. I guess this makes Shawn was a really good salesperson since he duped us. Congratulations, Sleepy’s. The only thing that we got out of this was a great mattress, but I really wish we would have brought our business somewhere else
