This is my first review ever about a eating spot! However, this place is amazing! The tempura roll is my favorite it is always prepared fresh and is crispy and delicious! I used to never like egg rolls until I came to this particular restaurant, it came out hot and was still piping hot when it came to my table! This place is kind of hidden so it isn’t always very busy but you will enjoy yourself when you go!

Love, love love this place. The family eats here once a week. Kenny and his wife are the best and the food is always great and fresh.

I gave this place a try. The atmosphere was nice and laid back. Everything seemed clean. On the tables were containers of salt, pepper and soy sauce. I wish that there was the option of regular soy sauce and light sodium soy sauce. I ordered a sushi bento and a spicy salmon hand roll. The bento came with an 8 piece california roll, 2 pieces of shrimp tempura, 3 pieces of nigiri sushi, and a ginger dressed side salad. I love sushi and this place just didn’t hit the spot. The california roll had an unproportional amount of rice to crab, cucumber, and avocado. It just wasn’t memorable. As for the 3 pieces of nigiri, they were ebi(shrimp), maguro(tuna), and sake(salmon). They were decent, fresh, and good cuts. They were nice and cold. They rice was shaped well and didn’t fall apart. The sauce that came with the shrimp tempura was bland. It was like dipping into water. blahhh. The side salad, on the other hand, was too salty. The spicy salmon hand roll was actually spicy. That was the one thing that I loved. I hate it when they say it’s spicy and there’s barely any spice. The place was average. Nothing spectacular.

I had been here for lunch four or five times a few years ago. When I went today, I was disappointed. The prices seemed much higher, although I cannot prove that, and the meat that came in the eel & cucumber roll, as well as the spicy tuna roll, was beyond lacking. Also, I personally shake my head when a restaurant uses styrofoam for cups — screams lazy and environmentally irresponsible. There are better places for sushi on Barrett Parkway(Ru Sans, Sushi Bites, Kuroshio, and Fuji Hana — as soon as they reopen at their new location across from Bogey’s/Highland Grill). Sorry, Sushi Express, I won’t be back.

I had to give this place a try, I didn’t catch the friendly part Nathifa was talking about, and it’s unfortunate I was hoping for a five star review. The sashimi was very fresh and I enjoyed it very much. The experience over all was a bit dry. But if you’re ok with a quiet dry experience the food is good :) In all fairness, not everyone is having the best day every day. I will be going back when I’m in the area.

It was a late work night for me, I was hungry, and craving sushi. I was initially going to grab sushi and groceries from Publix even though I don’t really like Publix’s sushi very much when I remembered seeing a sign for sushi in this little strip mall. It’s a cute little take-out restaurant, although dine-in tables are available. The guys running the counter were very polite and patient as I browsed the menu. The sushi was quite good… actually way better than what I expected. The spicy tuna was actually spicy, and the sashimi and other ingredients were fresh. And they have fried oreos, which I haven’t tried, but will have to one day. Their prices are the same as Publix, so this will be my new go-to place for quick sushi — total fan now:)
