Excellent food, great service, friendly atmosphere. I recommend the Broasted Chicken and Wedge Potatoes. Good stuff!

I’ve been wanting to check this place out for awhile. In some ways I’m glad I did, others not so much. I was greeted by a friendly waitress when I waked in. There is many choices on the menu. Mostly breakfast and sandwiches. Not really anything too fancy for a family restaurant. Their menu matched the décor, drab. After about 5 minutes of a wait to order my drink, I had chosen my menu items and told them to the waitress. I buried my face and attention back into my phone, hoping my meal was better than the place looked. The waitress seemed to take a long time getting my drink and salad. When it arrived, I was disappointed. It was nothing more than lettuce with shredded cabbage and carrots(Something obviously dumped from a bag) A very small wedge of tomato, and two slices of cucumber equaling one whole slice. Because of the slow service on my salad, I was only able to eat half of my first course before my main course arrived. When I got to my main course, it wasn’t the best either. A very marblized ribeye steak and a baked potato that had tough skin. I asked for the steak medium-rare and received it with half well done and the other thick half rare. It was also covered in black pepper obviously while it was prepared. While eating the main course, I sat with an empty glass of soda for quite some time before I had to get the waitress’s attention to have a refill on my soda. Even when I notified her of this, it wasn’t a very speedy return. Almost finished with my main course, I was brought the check and by that time, I wanted to see if the desert could at least be tasty. So I ordered a slice of apple pie. At one point, the delivery of the pie took so long, I whispered to myself«What the f*** is taking so long?» Then I discovered why. The pie must’ve been in the refrigerator. The first bite was almost too hot and could have burned my mouth, the second bite was cold. They had put the slice in the microwave. By the time I got to the end, it was cold. The pie had good flavor but nothing I’d write to my mom about. The $ 22 I paid for this was too much. Overall, my experience here was horrible and over priced. I strongly support small businesses. But sadly, I won’t be returning here. I’ll be prospecting another small business to take a date to.

The tenderloin was fantastic. The new menu looks great and has quite a variety of items on it. The staff was friendly and attentive. Nice place to visit weekly.

Generic small town food with small amounts of flavor. Nothing special here that you can’t do at home. The worst part abbot the establishment is the atmosphere: drab pink and 50’s blue scream cheap and outdated. The whole place needs gutted. Add something unique to the menu and overhaul the interior to gain my business again.

Just ate at MJ’s Restaurant and it was not good. First of all my silverware was dirty. I ordered cheese sauce on my hash browns and it was so watered down it ran to the bottom of my potatoes, it couldn’t be seen on top of them. I ordered white toast and was served wheat toast with no butter. When I asked why I didn’t get butter on my toast the waitress told me they don’t butter their toast but yet she never offered me butter nor is there butter at the table to use. The rest of the food was very bland. This was a huge disappointment and I would not recommend it.

Just recently moving to the area, I have been searching for a sandwich home style restaurant just like this! The ranch is amazing and the décor is very family friendly. As with any new restaurant, things can go wrong, especially with service, but here you can definitely tell the management is training them, and they are getting better every time we go in! The sandwich list is amazing, I’ve had the Reuben, hot beef and hamburger so far. I’ve been quite satisfied with my trips to MJs and I know it will only keep getting better! Give them time to adjust and learn… but while you are at it, be sure to get a Hot a Turkey sandwich! I know I will be next time!

The old Huntington’s building has re-opened but believe me the food and the service is 100% better! We had heard that a new place was going in and we stopped by the other night. We went in late on one of the slower nights of the week and our server was able to fill us in on the background of the new owners. A younger couple, husband has been involved in food service and wanted to open his own place. After the meal, the owner even came out and spoke with us about our food. Décor: Not much has changed from what I remember, but considering that these owners are just starting out I wouldn’t fault them on this. Fixtures are expensive and these look just fine. Some new touches around the room. Everything was clean and appeared in good repair. Service: Very prompt. Our waitress was was very knowledgeable about the menu. She was always smiling and kept drinks filled. Menu: Typical family restaurant type offerings. Some burgers, some chicken, etc. Most people should be able to find something they enjoy. I did enjoy that the menu wasn’t so huge that you felt that it was the same dish being recycled as another offering. Food: We started off with the onion rings. I am a fan of rings and I can’t stand bad ones(American Rock Bar take note, I mean you). These were amazing. They came with the typical side of ranch dressing, which I’m not a fan of, so I asked for hot sauce to alter the taste. I was really surprised… this ranch was amazing! It had a flavor that was so unlike the other bottles of dressing. I asked what brand and I found out they make it from scratch using buttermilk and mayo! So I realized I am a fan of ranch, but without the chemical preservatives that come in a bottle. For my meal, I had a tenderloin. It too was amazing. It might not of have been huge enough to fill the whole plate, but it had some thickness to it. You don’t find that with those«super» tenderloins that have been flattened under a steamroller. The flavor was good and I would order it again. Husband had the Reuben and he liked it a lot. They use real, sliced corned beef. Again, so many use that shaved pseudo-meat so it was a nice touch. Husband would have liked more kraut, but hey, there is never enough for him. Overall this was a great meal and experience. I wish the best of luck to these owners!
