I love Sushi AI, and other than the gnats that they can never seem to get rid of, I’m not sure why the ratings are so low. I’m a fan of fried rolls and whenever I come back home I make sure to stop by because places on the southeast coast aren’t too fond of making them. My wife also loves their rolls and appetizers, and the prices are great. The service is average, however.

Yum! The salmon, white tuna, and masago sushi was delicious! The plate was beautiful and the price is very reasonable. I was a little less impressed with the spicy salmon. It was not spicy and flavored enough. The St. Louis roll was not my favorite either, but I was trying something new. My only other complaint was that repairs are needed in the women’s bathroom.

I’ve eaten here several times. The last time the server took out order and brought out the appetizers. I already had my sushi order ready and laying at the end of the table. During this time, my order was not taken. I couldn’t find any worker. At all. Finally, we noticed EVERYONE of them eating in the front of the restaurant. They finally finished their food and started cleaning up. At this point, we are still waiting for them to take our order 20 – 30 minutes had already passed. Finally, I politely get a servers attention and tell them I am going to be late for work and am trying to wrap up my lunch. Overalls, terrible service. Won’t be going back.

Very sullen sort of establishment. Some people like sullen. My husband and I aren’t that type. The wait staff seem sad? The sushi was pretty good.

The food is very tasty and the price is right. BUT, the waitress we had last night was terrible — we hard a hard time understanding her(poor English skills), she was slow come back to our table, plus, she did not appear happy.

Have gone to Sushi AI multiple times through the years. Used to be good and have tried to give it more tries than I should have to see if it would improve itself to previous years. Customer Service is the worst and the sushi is just not good. Sushi hardly contains fish in it anymore. I ordered a roll with cream cheese in it and that had hardly any fish in it. The final punch was when I went in for Sunday lunch… No lunch special on Sunday which OK, I can get over that. So the all you can eat was 19.99 … Still ok price. I got three sushi rolls. Only one was the higher priced roll. It frankly tasted like crap so I did not eat the most of that roll. I ate the other two rolls minus a couple pieces. It was not like I ordered an insane amount of sushi. So because I did not eat the roll I did not like and also did not order anymore, the thanks I got was a 2 dollar to go charge added to my meal. This was the last straw for me for this restaurant. Serve crappy sushi and then charge the customer if they don’t eat it. There are a lot of sushi restaurants in the area. I am done giving this one a chance.

You really do get what you pay for which is all you can eat sushi. The Alaskan roll is probably the best on the menu and the sashimi is served nicely. It is certainly better than grocery store sushi across the street it’s not Schnucks but 10 minutes away is the drunken fish in Westport or numerous other restaurants in University City and Clayton the do sushi much better. Great though for the longer lunch for a sub $ 15 sushi fix.

Sushi is not worth all you can eat price. 20.00 sounds like a good idea but it’s not. Most rolls are over filled with cream cheese. You are better off to just order 2 rolls, That are 4 – 6 dollars a piece. But staff is very nice and the sushi is delivered so fast to your table!

All-you-can-eat is all good with me! Sushi was good and arrived on target every time. Very filling. The server was pleasant and punctual on water refills.

Here’s the deal: it’s okay sushi at a good price. 19.99 all you can eat(anything on the menu) – just don’t leave anything uneaten(they’ll charge you). No, it’s not great sushi, but you aren’t paying for great sushi. Go there if you want a sushi fix for cheap!

The sushi is decent sized and there are a lot of options on the menu. The service was slow. The sushi itself tasted a little off unless you ordered something«spicy» which was hot enough to make you forget about the seemingly«about to spoil» fish. No alcohol despite advertising Sake at the sushi bar. Pros: you get a lot of sushi for the $. Cons: it’s not good sushi.

Most amazing sushi establishment! Street parking is free on the weekend and the all you can eat sushi buffet is buy one, get on 50% on Sundays! Very fresh and delicious tasting sushi! Will definitely return and recommend. Look forward to trying the other locations.

I really like going to Sushi Ai. Their lunch buffet is awesome. Good quality sushi and the potstickers are delicious. Sadly they took spicy tuna nigiri and eel nigiri off the lunch menu, but they still have them as a roll. It’s still a good quality meal though for the price.

I love the all you can eat sushi for $ 20! Best deal in town for sushi lovers. Just make sure you eat all that you order so you don’t get charged extra.

I had never tried sushi before, so I don’t really have anything to compare it to, but I did enjoy it a lot! Decent location, fairly friendly staff, and I fell in love with the volcano rolls and have been back three times since!

$ 20 and all you can eat is not a bad deal for sushi. Sushi is fresh however it is overloaded with rice and not enough fish. The staff is friendly and the service is fairly quick. Last year I’ve visited Shanghai and had the opportunity to eat some authentic sushi. After eating there sushi in St. Louis or anywhere here does not compare. This is ideal if you want some cheap and decent sushi but please keep in mind that you’re eating Americanized version of sushi. I do like this place is much better then drunken fish.

Not amazing but not bad for the price. Just A-OK. The comments others have left about the service is mostly true, although thankfully none of us got into an argue match with anyone last night, lol. But our server couldn’t remember what drinks anyone ordered and had a somewhat hard time communicating with us. But that wasn’t a big deal because we all got fed and watered… it just took kind of a while. Thankfully my friend beat us there and so he got his(bigass) order in prior to ours. There weren’t too many other folks in here on a Monday night. Location-wise, I prefer the one on Zumbehl if only for the interior, but the food seemed to be a notch higher at the location on Dorsett, so yeah, there’s that. Maybe I will stop in again prior to trivia to avoid having to eat greasy food at syberg’s, lol. I had miso soup, shrimp, sweet shrimp, masago, tuna, and salmon. One piece each of nigiri. And two beers. Sean had an order of the chicken teriyaki appetizer(which is TINY btw, but only $ 3.50.) Our whole bill(less my friend’s platter) was like $ 29.00 or something around there, pre-tip. So yeah, not really a bad deal considering. I was most concerned about lack of vinegar in rice, but it was there. That’s my biggest cockblock in sushi, besides nasty fish, so yeah. Speaking of which, the quality of the fish wasn’t bad but it wasn’t like super amazing either. It was maaaybe a tiny notch above grocery store cuts. But that ain’t saying much. For my friend, he loves this place because he’s a giant dude who can probably eat a small horse for dinner on a nightly basis, and myself being a(somewhat) petite chica, have a hard time eating more than a few bites. So for me, I’d prefer quality over quantity. But that’s just me. Sean is not a fish or seafood eater, and the most Japanese thing he can typically stomach is chicken teriyaki. So yeah… IDK how much I’d frequent Sushi Ai in the future but it’s not a bad place just not my favorite. I haven’t gotten food poisoning there yet so that’s always good. :-P FOOTNOTE:(And I don’t get why ppl pronounce this«Sushi A-I» like«Artificial intelligence»??? «ai» is a Japanese word meaning«love.» So it’s literally called«Sushi Love» if you were to translate it. But I could be wrong. Just calling it «A-I» seemed like a weird choice, but the latter seems to fit better with the theme… being Japanese. Though I doubt the owners are.) Also… all those peeps comparing this place to Drunken Fish… hahahahahahahahahahaha. Totes hilar… Maybe it sounds stuck-up of me, but the Drunken Fish really isn’t that good. Unless they changed their game or something since I last went. Maybe I am due in for a visit soon. Since one person used car comparisons, I will follow along in spirit of that: Sushi Ai = Toyota Corolla — sells a lot, somewhat reliable, gets the job done. Nothing fancy though. No whistles and bells. Occasional serious defect. Drunken Fish = Low-end Mustang or Riced-up Honda — for douchy guys who want to show off. Lots of fancy sauces and other such crap that is just used to mask the quality of the fish. but HEY they have cocktails. want a cocktail?(free roofies!) Hop in my sweet ride, BB, just ignore the fart can in the back and used condoms on the floor! Fin/Nobu’s = Lotus Elise. Because fuck Porsche. Reliable with a Toyota engine, but sleek and sexy with a penchant for uniqueness! Did I mention delicious? THEREYAHAVEIT.

After going to the downtown STL location regularly for over a year, I admit that upon coming here, I was a bit disappointed. The location looks like a fast-food Chinese joint, complete with the back-lit food pictures on the wall. Furthermore, every source I found said they were open until 11, but sure enough, upon going inside they were already closing up(I got there at 9:30). Still, I placed my order(for take out, since I wasn’t about to enjoy the all-you-can-eat in just 20 minutes), only to find that they’d «run out of» several kinds of fish, including my favorite, mackerel. Still, the rolls were as good as always, and as good as the downtown location, and I will be back.

I started eating sushi about four years ago. My friend introduced me to AI and it is amazing!!! Best sushi I’ve ever had. I drive 20 miles to eat it when we have a sushi place three miles away. The food is delicious. The prices/specials are great and never once have they charged me for leftover pieces. They are very nice and attentive as well and the atmosphere is relaxed and you can sit for hours just talking and they don’t mind.
